☽Here Comes Trouble ☽

  Dana couldn't focus at all in lecture hall. The hair on the back of her neck was standing on its ends. It felt as if someone was watching her every move and she was starting to break out in cold sweat. Dana's eyes scanned through every corner of the crowded room. Nobody was paying attention to her at all; yet, she still felt stalked.   Damn it, where was Kai when she needed him.       ☽       "Kai, get up. We've received news of a breach at the borders." Kris spoke as he pulled the alpha up to his feet. Kai would've screamed at the person who'd robbed him of his slumber; had it not been Kris.    Kris was the only person Kai could never get mad at; firstly because he was older and secondly, because Kris was the first person he'd met after running away from home. Kris was like a brother more than anything.    And so, Kai found himself sitting upright, rubbing the sleep away from his face.    "Update." Kai mumbled as he got to his feet, looking for a clean shirt to throw on.    "Lara claimed she felt something pass through her magic wards last night. And Lay found a dead deer while he was on patrol this morning near the outskirts of the university. Seemed like a fresh kill. "   Kai's eyes widened in alert at the sudden mention of University. He was late for school!   "Oh crap. I totally overslept. Okay hyung, you're in charge. I want the boys to secure the border, keep a look out for any other killings. Keep me updated through the Link. I need to get to school before Dana finds out I forgot to set my alarm."    "You should've just stayed over at her apartment, stupid." Kris rolled his eyes as he watched the alpha fiercely brush his teeth.           Kai parked the car and ran as fast as he could in his human form. He turned round the corner and bumped straight into a girl with a familiar scent.    "Dana?"   "Kai!" she literally threw herself onto him and Kai's eyebrows knitted in confusion.    "What's up?" he patted her back as he hauled himself up to his feet, dragging Dana along with him. The girl looked restless; almost as if something was bothering her. She grabbed onto Kai's collar and pulled him into a nearby janitor's closet.    Dana was pressed up tightly against Kai's figure as she closed the door behind her. She sighed in relief as she felt the hair on her nape deflate.    Kai had no idea what was going on, but he liked it.    He could smell her delicious vanilla perfume and her favourite shampoo, as her head was neatly tucked underneath his chin. Her tiny hands were lightly clutching onto his wrists as she leaned into his warmth. Kai could hear every breath she took, every breath she released and how fast her heart was beating. She looked up, her eyelashes fluttering softly against her lower lids.    Her plump pink lips parted and Kai just wished he could swoop in to capture her in a deep kiss; his inner beast was literally begging him to. Kai's chest rumbled as he growled lowly. There was no better opportunity than this.    But no matter how hot Kai felt at the moment, no matter how close their string of attraction was wound; he could not.    "I'm being watched." she breathed and Kai's eyes instantly narrowed, his pupils glowing a sudden electric blue.   "By who?"   "I don't know. But he's been following me ever since I left my apartment. I can't find him no matter where I look. Took you long enough to get here." she pounded Kai on the chest and the latter clasped onto her wrist, speaking in a hushed whisper.   "Sorry."    Dana gulped as she watched his pupils dilate. She hadn't been feeling this breathless in weeks. Was it the mating bond, was it the short distance between them or was it the stuffy room? No one knew. But she'd better get out of there if she didn't want Kai to unleash his inner wolf.    Just then, the door swung open, revealing the janitor holding onto his mop. He didn't gasp nor show any signs of shock. He merely shook his head and ed the mop into the room.    "At least you two weren't in action." he muttered in annoyance as he slammed the door and hobbled away.   Dana looked down to her feet and nibbled her bottom lip, embarrassed. Kai was silent for a few seconds before he decided to leave the room, entangling her fingers with his. Right then, he felt it.    The strange aura Dana was talking about. Kai's eyes rounded in shock; he knew exactly what it was. Tugging on her hand, the pair broke out into a sudden sprint towards the car. Dana hopped on and strapped her seatbelt in record time. Her black orbs darted up, noticing a shadowed figure looming over the school.    "That's what's been watching you." Kai stepped on the accelerator and whizzed onto the main road. He couldn't outrun the deathly being but he sure as hell could try.    "What in the world is that?" Dana
