☽Girls of the Pack☽
Dana rooted herself at the top of the staircase, waiting patiently to hear the; obviously censored version, of Lara's verdict.
The back door of the kitchen swung open, startling Dana. Her head snapped towards the direction of the noise and took a sharp intake of breath at the new faces standing before her.
A tanned figure with bright pink hair sauntered in first. Her iridescent green eyes rounded the moment they locked with Dana's; resembling that of a feline's. Her tall stature and prominent muscles fascinated Dana as she lifted the groceries up onto the kitchen top.
Trailing in elegantly behind her was a petite girl with long dark waves cascading down her back. Her skin was like porcelain; tattooed with black runes and her eyes sleek with a silver glow. She could almost pass off as Kai's sister, the only difference being the stark contrast of skin tones.
"Oh? Hi, you must be Dana! I think this is the first time we've actually met." The taller girl grinned as she extended a hand towards the said girl. "I'm Rae! I've heard so much about you!"
Dana glanced at her outstretched palm before clasping it, mirroring the same curve of the lips. "It's nice to meet you."
Rae pulled back and motioned her hand to the girl next to her. "This is Serri. She predicted that we'd finally be able to meet you today! I'm so sorry we couldn't meet earlier, the boys are always sending us off to do chores. It to be a mate sometimes!" Rae whined as she unpacked the groceries from the paper bags.
Dana's mind dwelled on the choice of word Rae had used; 'predicted'. Before Dana could ask the question, Serri already had the answer at the tip of her tongue.
"I'm Psychic."
"Oh," Dana gaped for a second, stunned at her prompt reply before another question popped up. "So you can like, see the future at your own will?"
Serri shook her head calmly. Her pink cheeks glowed radiantly as she slipped a small smile, "Unfortunately not. The future chooses what it wants me to see."
Dana seemed perplexed for a moment before Rae swept her up into another conversation.
"So how's the accommodation? The manor's pretty huge, right?"
"Yeah, I didn't even know such a place existed in the woods."
"Kris and Lara built this up only for our pack." Rae smiled proudly as Serri wandered out of the kitchen to greet the other boys. Dana took the opportunity to learn more about Rae.
"So, do you have a power?"
Rae let out a genuine laugh at Dana's curiosity and nodded. "I'm a metal bender. All things metal; iron, nickel, silver; you name it, I'll bend it. I can even manipulate the tiniest speck of metal." Rae opened the freezer to stuff in the newly bought tubs of ice cream before turning back to Dana. "Especially in humans. You know, iron in the human body? I can easily control blood flow with the flick of my finger. It's fascinating, really. Do you mind passing me that?"
Without sparing another thought, Dana lent a hand to Rae who seemed to possess extreme dark abilities in contrast to her bright personality. Dana was inwardly thankful that Rae had become a mate. If she had fallen into the wrong clutches, the world would probably be in absolute doom. As Dana picked up another heavy bag of powdered detergent, a rowdy wolf-boy made his way into the kitchen.
"Good morning, my ladies! Did you get me my fried chicken?" Baekhyun bellowed as he slung an arm around Dana's shoulder. Rae glowered at him before throwing a ripe banana straight at his face. "Nobody eats chicken for breakfast, stupid."
"Everyone in this room knows that's how I roll, am I right Dana?"
Dana stared at Rae in confusion and the latter merely pulled the girl away before shoving Baekhyun in the chest.
"Don't listen to him. He's an idiot."
Dana smiled as she sunk into a nearby chair, glancing at the door leading to Lara's workroom. Baekhyun stole a seat next to Dana before reaching out for a bowl and the cereal box.
Right then, Serri strolled into the kitchen with Luhan in hand and Sehun in tow. The latter mindlessly jumped over the counter top and reached over to hug Rae's waist, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck. "You went grocery shopping without me?"
Rae rolled her eyes at the boy as she stashed the carton of eggs into a nearby cupboard. "You wouldn't have been able to wake up either."
Sehun bore his eyes into Rae's luminous ones as she continued to chastise him for being a sleepy head. Dana figured out the connection instantly. Rae's iridescent eyes were the fatalities that had drawn Sehun in, just like how Kai often got lost in her own set of black orbs.
"Are you even listening to me!" Rae whacked Sehun in the head and the poor boy groaned at the pain inflicted upon him.
"Morning, Dana. Where's Kai?" Luhan smiled cherubically as he wrapped an arm around Serri.
