" Don't worry. The operation was a success. He is still under the influence of the sleeping pills. We treated the infected area.

He can't move around with his legs this few days. Take good care of him, if this tissue gets infected again, he might not be 

able to walk again." The doctor finally removed the blue surgical mask and told Chaerin.

Chaerin heaved a sigh of relief and nodded her head. 

" We will push him back to the ward now. If you notice anything wrong with him these few days, alert the doctors 

immediately." The doctor told Chaerin. 

" And when he awakes, please tell him that Hyori woke up." The doctor continued.

" Hyori sunbaenim woke up?! I'm relieved." Chaerin smiled.

Chaerin followed them back to the ward. 

Sunlight was flowing through the oval-shaped window, making a weird shadow on the ground. 

The doctors pushed the bed into position and told Chaerin " Leave him here for awhile, come with us to settle the payment." 

Chaerin followed them to the reception counter, and got a slight shock of the exorbitant price. 

But luckily, she brought along her own credit card that had all her savings. 

And that cost...equals up to the salary of one entire year. 

But all that's important, its really just the recovery of Daesung.

She was on the way back to the ward when she saw a familiar glinpse of red-coloured hair. It's Jiyong.

She glanced into the ward and saw Hyori smiling at Jiyong's funny antics.

She felt tears welling up her eyes, as she had always wanted to be the special one that Jiyong loves, how she missed being

in Hyori's position right now. 

She saw Hyori looking at her, mouthing something to her, seemingly beckoning her to come over. 

She pretended not to see that and just bowed to her from the glass window. Jiyong turned towards her, and smiled gently.

She avoided eye contact and ran back to Daesung's ward.

" What's wrong with this kid? Shouldn't she come in and greet me? Aish..this girl." Hyori jokingly complained, as she looked 

from the glass window to Jiyong.

She noticed Jiyong's grim expression. 

All of a sudden, Jiyong's face turned into shock and his mouth opened and closed, words stuck in his throat.

Hyori immediately turned to the window and saw a black-clothed man walking past their ward. " Why..you know him?" Hyori

casually asked, reaching for a glass of water at the side of her bed.

"Oh dear...oh dear...Daesungie.." Jiyong whispered under his breath, eyes fidgeting as he remembered him as the exact 

same man outside the operation room early this dawn. 

"Daesungie? What's wrong?" Hyori asked, hand frozen midair, just few centimetres away from the glass of water. 

"No way..Daesung ah!" Jiyong shouted and dashed out of the ward. As expected, the man was peeking through the window 

of Daesung's ward, speaking into the phone. 

Jiyong crept up to the wall behind him and tried to hear what he was saying. 

He heard the man saying " Yes, he's still sleeping but unfortunately alive. But there's a girl with him. Get her too? Lee Chae 

Rin. Yes yes I will take care of them tonight. " Jiyong's heart stopped as he heard the 3 words coming out from the man's 

mouth. 

His legs went weak and he held on to the wall to keep himself from falling. 

He staggered back to the ward, petrified.

"Yah! What's wrong with you? Why is your face so pale?" Hyori said as she motioned for him to come closer.

" Noona...what should I do? Oh my god." Jiyong said, slumping into the chair beside her, burying his head in his hands.

"What's wrong?" Hyori asked, obviously concerned.

"Noona..the abductors that night..how many were there? Weren't they all killed?" Jiyong asked carefully, not wanting to alarm 

her.

"What..? The abductors...hang on, why are you asking that? Is anything wrong?" Hyori asked him.

"No...I'm just asking." Jiyong replied, not looking into her eyes.

" Wait..how's Daesung? Is he okay?" Hyori asked, suddenly remembering him. The long sleep must have affected her 

memory.

"Oh..ye-yes! He's perfectly alright now!" Jiyong answered, putting on a fake smile. 

"Which ward is he in? I'm going to see him for awhile." Hyori asked, preparing to get down from bed.

"Uh no. He got discharged already." Jiyong said, immediately stopping her from getting out of bed.

To be hinest, he was afraid that Hyori would fall in love with Daesung once more and not care about him anymore.

"What? So fast? Impossible...his injuries were far more serious than mine..." Hyori said, unsure whether to believe Jiyong or 

not.

"I'm serious." Jiyong replied.

"What about Chaerin? Why is she here when she isn't here to see me?" Hyori asked Jiyong, recalling Chaerin's appearance

just now.

"Uh-I have no idea. Wh-why is she here?" Jiyong stuttered, knowing that she already saw through his lie.

"Aigoo...just tell me already!" Hyori said, a little irritated.

" His ward is over there, but he hasn't woken up from the operation yet." Jiyong sighed and said, pointing towards the right 

side.

"Operation? Is he okay now? I'm going to see him, bring me there." Hyori said, this time really getting off bed.

" Hang on...let me check something." Jiyong said, as he stuck his head out of the door of the ward, seeing if the man is still 

there.

"Okay. Let's go noona." Jiyong said finally, after confirming that the man is no longer there.

Jiyong and Hyori walked into Daesung's ward, and they see Chaerin resting her head on Daesung's bed, deep in sleep. She 

didn't get any sleep from last night, due to Daesung's sudden operation.

Hyori walked to the side of Daesung's bed and through his hair, softly whispering "Daesung ah..get well soon."
