The Visit

Stand By You

After the first day of trial, Yunho and Jae asked for permission to meet with the boys again. Leeteuk immediately submitted a request to the court and they were granted supervised visitation for a couple of hours that afternoon with the condition that the visit was going to be recorded. At first Yunho wasn’t sure that they wanted the court’s condition, however, upon Leeteuk’s encouragement and the sad look that crossed Jaejoong's face he decided to go at once.

Jae was so excited to be allowed access to Changmin. If he was feeling flustered during the trial, he was feeling extremely nervous that afternoon. “What if he’s already forgotten me?” He kept mumbling.

Yunho couldn’t help but feel so much love for Jae. Seeing him so worried after not having met Changmin in a while made him guiltier for what the guy had to go through. He loved his brothers because they were his brothers. He was supposed to love them. Jaejoong on the other hand, he had no responsibility to them whatsoever but Jae loved Yoochun and Changmin like he loved Junsu and for that Yunho couldn’t be more grateful.

“Hey, you know that’s impossible right?” Yunho said nudging Jae with his shoulder. They were already at the waiting area of the Child Protective Services Center while Leeteuk went to get the boys.

Jae could only give him a small smile. When Yunho finally agreed to the court's condition, Jae immediately whipped up some ddeok at home really fast knowing how Changmin loved them. He also brought another couple of mangas for Yoochun to read.Biting his lower lip he quickly glanced over to the door as it opened with a social worker guiding Yoochun and a little Changmin in tow waddling over to where they sat. Jaejoong immediately stood as Yoochun ran over to him and buried his face in Jae’s chest.

Tears welled up in Jae’s eyes as he squeezed Yoochun tight. He missed the boy too much. “Hey sweetie.” He whispered as Yoochun’s arms squeezed tighter around his waist. "I missed you a lot." He said as he glanced over at Yunho who couldn’t help but smile at him as tears began to flow down his cheeks.

“Why don’t you say hi to Yunho hyung too eh?” Jae whispered as Yoochun pulled back, tears streaming down the young boy’s face as he launched himself to his hyung burying his face in Yunho’s neck, embarrassed for causing such a scene. Jae in turn smiled at Yunho who buried his face in Yoochun’s hair as tears flowed down his own cheeks as the two brothers whispered to each other how much they missed the other.

Trying to compose himself, Jae knew that Yoochun’s was going to be easier than the one he was about to face. Wiping the tears from his face, Jae turned towards the social worker who already had Changmin in her arms, the little tot looking everywhere else but him.

Jae slowly approached Changmin placing his palm against the little boy’s back and said, “Hey baby. I missed you.” He said softly.

Changmin’s face dropped as he turned away from Jae leaning towards the social worker instead his little head dropping to his little chest. Jae felt his heart break as he remembered how much pain the little boy was in as told by that doctor. Running his fingers through Changmin’s soft hair, he gently touched his left ear, running the pad of his thumb over it praying that he gets his hearing back. “I’m so sorry hon.” Jae said as he broke down and began to cry.

Yunho stood up from where he was sitting and guided Jae to a beanbag on the floor as the social worker placed Changmin right in front of him allowing him a choice. As Jae sat, he hugged his knees to his chest and rested his forehead on his forearms as he quietly sobbed the loss of the tot’s hearing. Yunho watched with bated breath as Changmin looked over to Jae with a sad look on his face, slowly crawled over to where Jae sat, pulled himself up by holding onto Jae’s arms and patted his head softly saying, “Ma.”

Jae lifted his head as he looked at the little boy he raised. Changmin looked as though he knew what had happened and that he forgave Jaejoong. Running his hand over Changmin’s hair and cupping the little boy’s cheeks, he gave him a watery smile and then carried the tot in his arms, folding him in a hug. It only seemed natural for Changmin to rest his cheek in the crook of Jaejoong’s neck as he gave a little puff sound as though he was finally home.

They stayed like that for a while with Jaejoong cuddling Changmin as Yunho and Yoochun began to sit and visit. Yoochun regaled Yunho with the stories that he read in the mangas that Jae brought him from last time. After a while, Changmin decided that he had enough of cuddling and wanted to go to Yunho. Suddenly raising his head, he reached over to Yunho and shouted, “Pa!” His little legs pumping back and forth, begging to be picked up.

Yunho couldn’t help but smile as he headed over to the two and said, “I thought you already forgot about me little man.” He teased as he reached over and took Changmin from Jae. Yoochun immediately rushed towards Jae who told him to go get the new mangas he placed on the table.

As the young boy settled beside him, Jae gave him a side hug and said, “I really missed you Chunnie.”

Yoochun looked at up his hyung and said, “I missed you a lot too hyung.”

“I… I’m sorry for all this.” Jae began.

“Why should you be sorry hyung? It wasn’t your fault.” Yoochun answered.

“It’s just that I should have known better. And if I did then none of this should have happened. Maybe it was a mistake that Junsu and I even became your friends at the orphanage.” Jaejoong said sadly.

Yoochun was silent for a while then he said, “Hyung, if my parents knew that they were going to die in that car crash, do you think that them having Changmin and me was a mistake?”

Jaejoong looked at him in surprise. “Of course not Chunnie! Don’t ever think that.”

“Then shouldn’t it be the same with you and us? You didn’t know nor did you want for things to turn out this way. Because even if you did, then was it a mistake to love us and care for us?” Yoochun said gently.

“Oh Chun, how’d you end up so smart eh?” Jaejoong said, a fresh batch of tears threatning to spill down his cheeks.

“I think I got it from my dad.” Yoochun answered with a sad smile.

After the supervised visitation with Yunho’s brothers, Jae asked if he could meet with Junsu. The temporary custody given to Jae was revoked by the court thus Junsu had to stay at the Center. However, since Junsu wasn’t part of the case, the Center allowed for Jae to visit with him and Yunho unsupervised.

The little boy bounced in the room with joy, squealing at the top of his lungs after having gone a few days without seeing his brothers. Running as fast as his little legs could carry him, Junsu glomped himself onto Yunho as the latter laughed stumbling back a bit before finally regaining his balance.

Jaejoong tutted at Junsu for such a display but Yunho just waved it off happily as the little boy began to pepper his face with kisses. “I missed you sooooo much appa!” Junsu repeated over and over again as Yunho laughed then began tickling the boy who screamed in delight.

Jae couldn’t help but laugh as Yunho began to carry the little boy upside down as Junsu kept giggling while Yunho continued to tickle the little boy. After a minute or two, Jae admonished Yunho and with a smile took Junsu from him. “Yah, why don’t you laugh like that for hyungie?” He asked in mockingly a pout crossing his handsome face.

Sitting on Jaejoong’s lap, his legs wrapped around Jaejoong’s waist, Junsu began to smooth out the wrinkles on Jaejoong’s forehead and then rubbed his nose on his hyung’s before hugging Jae on the neck then whispered, “It’s okay hyungie. Don’t worry, you’ll always have me.” Junsu said earning a laugh from Jaejoong. Junsu’s words always belied his age and even now, he knew that whatever Junsu said was meant to make him feel better. Jae smiled as he folded his little brother in a hug hoping that he was right.

--------------------------------------------------------------

After the visitation, Leeteuk sat with Yunho and Jaejoong. After seeing the tape of the visitation, Leeteuk found it in his head to make Yoochun a witness for them. Yunho looked at Jaejoong with worried eyes. He didn't want for his brother to be subjected to the harshness of a courtroom even if it was a family court. However, Leeteuk assured Yunho that Yoochun didn't have to be in the courtroom. In fact, the questioning was going to be more relaxed and calm as opposed to doing it in court where lawyers find it necessary to terrorize witnesses into telling the truth. Leeteuk will have a sitdown talk with Yoochun and have the conversation recorded to be used as evidence in court.

Jaejoong then asked, "Will Choi Siwon-shii also interview Yoochun?"

"Neh," Leeteuk confirmed. "He will get the same interview format as me. However, a social worker will be with him at all times so there is no need to worry." Leeteuk said calming Jaejoong's fear that Yoochun might feel pressured or harrassed.

Jaejoong nodded and looked at Yunho who still looked unsure. "Yunho, I... I think it might help. Chunnie's an extremely smart boy. I'm sure, he'll do well." Jae suggested carefully.

Yunho was silent for a while. "Can I talk to him first?" He asked.

"Of course." Leeteuk said. "Let me go talk to the social worker and set up a room for the two of you."

As Leeteuk stood up to leave, Yunho went over to Jae and sat in front of him saying, "I honestly don't know what to do." He said seemingly unsure.

Jae gave him a sad smile and reached over to smooth Yunho's hair then cupping his cheek and said, "I think you can trust Chunnie to do well."

Yunho nodded and said, "It's not what he'll say that I'm worried about. It's what they'll be asking him that I worry about. What if that Siwon-shii asks him about our relationship?"

Jae sat back for a moment seeing how that could be a problem. They still haven't resolved that issue with Yoochun and it was causing him grave concern at the moment. But then Yoochun was already facing the issue as it was. He faced it in school and he faced it at home. Still, would it be wise to make him talk about a subject head on knowing that it might cost them each other?

But then the decision was taken out of their hands when Leeteuk came back excitedly in the room with Yoochun in tow. "Look who's here?" Leeteuk said excitedly.

"Chunnie?" Yunho said in surprise as he craned his neck to see if a social worker was with him.

"Hyung!" Yoochun said grinning as he ran to his brothers glomping the two.

Jae laughed and said, "Seems like you missed us too much seeing as how it's barely been an hour since we saw each other last."

"Ah, an hour is long enough hyung." Yoochun said cheekily.

Yunho looked at Leeteuk who shrugged and said, "The social worker said that the court order actually only covers Changmin which means that just like Junsu, you can have access to Yoochun without the court's permission.

Yunho couldn't help but smile as he made a mental note to bring the social worker flowers the next time they came back. Turning to his brother he said, "Can we talk?" He said then looked at Jaejoong who got what he meant.

Standing up, Jae walked over to Leeteuk and said, "Why don't you take me to that social worker so I can thank her properly?"

Yunho couldn't help but smile again at how perfectly Jae fit his personality. Nary a word passsed between the two of them and Jae knew exactly what he needed. He really was blessed to have Jaejoong in his life.

"So, how are you doing?" Yunho asked as he settled comfortably on the couch beside Chunnie.

Yoochun just gave him and shrug and said, "I'm okay, I guess."

"I'm sorry for how things turned out." Yunho said sadly not really looking at Yoochun.

Yoochun sighed. "It's not your fault hyung." He said softly.

"It still feels like it is though." Yunho said contritely then he stayed silent for a while. "They want you to be a witness for us so we can get you and Minnie back." He said silently. "I don't think it's a good idea because they'll ask you about me and Jaejoong hyung and I don't know what to tell you what to say." He said in a silent voice.

Yoochun didn't say anything for a while. But then suddenly Yoochun smiled and said, "Remember when appa found out about Mrs. Han's broken window?"

Yunho looked at his brother and smiled ruefully before ruffling his hair, "Of course I do."

"I was so scared when he told me to go admit to her that it was me who broke the window and that I would promise to pay her for the glass." Yoochun said as he reminisced.

"You were pretty small back then." Yunho said remembering how Yoochun tried his best not to cry as their father brought him to Mrs. Han so Yoochun could ask for Mrs. Han's forgiveness. "You were pretty brave about it though." He added.

Yoochun grinned at his older brother. "I'm still pretty brave now hyung." He said.

Yunho smiled as he ruffled Yoochun's hair again. "You never did tell me what happened inside though." He said.

Yoochun's eyes sparkled as he remembered. "Ah, you mean to ask how did Mrs. Han end up teaching me to play the piano?" He asked.

Yunho nodded.

"Appa told me as we were standing in front of Mrs. Han's door that sometimes having to confront something even if it's scary is the only way we can truly get what we want. If I wanted his forgiveness, I was going to have to tell Mrs. Han the truth and apologize to her as well. I guess she thought it was brave of me to have told her the truth that instead of me paying for the window that I should keep her company for an hour every other day. That's how she ended up teaching me piano." Yoochun said with a smile. "I guess sometimes what we think is something so scary actually gets us something we haven't even imagined."

Yunho could only shake his head in wonder as he tried to figure out how his brother turned out to be so smart. "So you're saying that even if it's scary for you to stand witness for us that maybe it'll get all of us back together?" He asked.

"Maybe." Yoochun said. "We'll never know unless we try won't we?" He added with a shrug.

Yunho nodded and said, "I wish I were as brave as you Chun."

"But you are hyung." Yoochun said simply as Yunho looked at him with a puzzled look on his face. "You decided to love someone without fear. That's pretty brave to me."

Chapter 33: Uuuh this powerful feel through the story.. cant stop the tears from flooding, You can feel the love from every moments of their live here T_T. The court scene esp portrayed realistically.. yunjae struggled with how society view their uality.. But honestly there is millions children out there who longing for bit of family warmth, and another millions who get abused even in their supposedly ideal straight parent! So it just disgusting how some people disregard the child's welbeing for their personal revenge toward gay or anything different going as far as to separate a perfectly happy family!! So really love yoochun for his words at siwon.. the world really need more this wisdom! Guess this will be one my most loved family fiction :) really adores yunjae domestic life as five whenever it is.. its so heartwarming in their younger days that as teenager yunjae able to put so much responsibility and affection for their brothers, honestly they were inborn to be umma&appa <3 and yeaaay finally they found minnie again! I think micky remember jae heck why he approach him, but to think about it changmin just toddler when they are separated lol.. well hope yunjae and their children have it fate in their favor this time they really deserved all happiness and fluffiness in the world :D <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
