Oppa takes my hand and we walk to our favourite spot in the village; a wooden bridge surrounded with plants. It is located at the far end of the

village. No one visits there except for us.

"This place hasn't change much huh?" He comments, frowning thoughtfully. I smile to myself.

As we were walking, I noticed him carrying only a duffel bag with him. No luggage. And judging from his vest and jacket, he won't be staying.

"You're not staying are you?" I spoke. He shifts uncomfortably. He said nothing.

We found a place to sit. Oppa turns to look at me. We stare at each other without saying anything.

"Don't you want to see your present?" He asks suddenly, breaking the silence.

Although I didn't want any presents, I know Oppa wants to distract me from my previous question.

"Sure." I lied, and he reaches over to his duffel bag and takes out a square midnight-blue box. My breath hitches up. Is it what I think it is? I thought.

He hands the box to me and tells me to open it. I take it from him carefully and opens it. It was, as I guessed. A ring. The ring was exactly what I

wanted it to be.

Circular diamonds with silver gold bands intertwining it. I gasp. I couldn't breathe. Is he proposing? It couldn't be. I look at Oppa for answers.

"Oppa, this can never happen." I tell him. He looks at me sadly and knowingly as if he expects so.

"Hyuna-ah, this is just for you to remember me. It's a sign that I will marry you. One day." Oppa promises, his hand on mine. I nod and start to cry.

Because we both know, that once I turn 20, I will be married. Not to Oppa. He pulls me in for a hug, my head on his chest.

"Where can I find you?" I ask him. Oppa looks at me sadly.

"You can't. Not after you're married." He says regretfully.

I huff in anger. "I must. Even if its the last thing I do." I protested, without thinking. As soon as I said it, Oppa scolds me.

"Don't say that! The last thing you must do is obey your husband's wishes. Nothing more." He says sternly.

"But Oppa, I love you." I whisper, bowing my head. He puts an arm around me.

"Don't. You have to stop. You know what's coming." He says, his voice barely a whisper.

I cry as he say that. Because I know, I have to stop loving him, but he couldn't. Not until he marries.

"You will always be the best man I know and love, Oppa." I say to him. He says nothing in return but takes the ring out of the box and put it on my

ring finger. Both of us admire the ring in silence.

"Hyuna-ah, I have something to tell you," He says quietly. I nod to tell him that he could proceed. He holds my hand again. I brace myself for the

news.

"I'm going back to Seoul and never coming back. I'll be debuting in a new boy group soon." He says slowly.
