Chapter 19
Are you Serious?Eunji walked home with Kai that day on. Ever since she knew about her brothers true identities, they'd become more lenient to her surprise. Rather, it was that Suho and Minseok finally trusted Kai enough to be with their precious girl.
They two eldest had withdrawn from the school to focus more on the new organization Baekhyun and Chanyeol's parent's were building, while those two stayed close enough to protect Eunji from any danger. Kai was around her enough that there seemed to be no threat to her. And with Kai, brought along his entire pack (which she learned only a day after meeting them).
"He's our alpha," Jongdae explained with his mouth full of bread. "I think that might be the only thing that's right in those stories you read."
Kyungsoo moved further away from his packmate in disgust. "Jongdae, you should eat with your mouth closed. And you're probably emmbarressing yourself in front of Kai's ma- UMF."
Eunji jumped at Kyungsoo's muffled yell, and turned to see Sehun stuffing his friends mouth with french fries.
"Soo, if you wanted some you should've just asked," the boy asked sickeningly sweet. That was close, he thought.
Thanks, Kai sent him back telepathically.
Wait, what? Jongdae yelled in his thoughts. I thought you already told her!
Kai rolled his eyes. All I said was that I was a wolf. I wasn't going to scare her away with suddenly telling her I was her mate since we were kids.
"Um, what are you all doing?"
The four boys jumped at the sound of the only girl at the table.
"Nothing," Sehun said blandly. "Kyungsoo loves food. He's a great cook."
Eunji's eyes lit up. "Really?"
Kyungsoo blushed. Damn you, Sehun. "Yea, just a bit though."
"Liar!" Jongdae shouted. "You make the best kimchi pasta!"
"Pasta? I love that!" Eunji beamed. She hoped to become closer Kai's friends. They didn't seem as exclusive as everyone thought.
"He'll make it for you one day," Kai said while flashing a smile.
Ignoring the glare Kyungsoo sent him, Kai noticed Eunji's eyes move downwards as she blinked rapidly.
Whow, what was that? She thought to herself in surprise. The suddenly beating of her heart slowed down. Maybe I ate too fast.
As she rubbed her chest lightly, Jongdae nudged Kai.
"She's feeling the bond."
Kai couldn't help but smile as he continued to watch his love converse with his pack. Everything was going well, and he only hoped that it stayed this way.
Luhan wasn't seen for the next week, and Eunji grew curious of where he went. The questions of what kind of creature he was stuck in her mind like a mantra, and she'd jump straight to the point next time she saw him. But since he wasn't here, there was no way to ask. Her brothers would definetely not let her within a mile radius of their house either.
The pack seperated with Eunji and Kai at the end of the school day. Kai had been diligently making the trek home with her everyday since that fateful night, and the two couldn't be any happier. Though Eunji was oblivious to everything, she felt that she was growing closer to Kai, and the moments
