[Missing Pieces]
You Never Know
Recap: Onew confronted JongHyun about everything, but he could tell that he was changing into a better person. JongHyun told him it was because of Jihae. EXO finally arrived, and Kris was showing he was jealous over BaekYeol's closeness. The rest of the gang was able to avoid explaining the fact that Onew went to talk to JongHyun, and they all went back to MinHo's house to eat some lunch. Key crashed into JongHyun, and his heart started to beat faster than ever. While they were at MinHo's place, Krystal explained to them that she had 2 missing siblings; and MinHo and Mir agreed the girl looked a lot like Jessica Jung.
"Jessica?" Krystal asked, grabbing the picture; "I never really thought about that."
Nana walked over to them, wiping her wet hands on her apron; "Let me see."
Krystal handed her the photo, just watching to see if her expression would change; and it sure did.
"Omo." Nana covered , "It's basically a mini version."
TaeMin tried to peak over Nana's shoulder, and when he saw the picture; he couldn't help but agree, "It really does look a lot like her."
MinHo narrowed his eyes towards Krystal, "Have you ever, you know, had that feeling?"
Krystal pursed her lips, "Well, now that I think of it; I mean, I thought she looked kinda familiar at first. But it's probably just a coincidental thing."
Kai finished chewing his food, swallowing; "Get a DNA test." he advised, "It's the only way you'll ever find out if it's a coincidence or not."
"What? She's just supposed to go up to Jessica and be like, "Aye, I need a lock of your hair because I think you're my sister."?" ChanYeol rolled his eyes, looking up at Krystal; "It probably is just coincidental stuff. Not to be rude, but your face is kinda; average."
"Yah!" MinHo threw a pillow at ChanYeol, causing an uproar of laughter as he tried to defend himself with his hands.
Krystal couldn't help but laugh himself, "ChanYeol's right. I don't wanna just creep her out like that. Judging from what DongHae has said, Jessica seems to be a pretty decent girl; and it doesn't seem like she's having any problems in her life, why would I wanna interfere?"
"Ah Krystal, always thinking of others first; that's always been like you." Kris walked over to her, putting his arm around her shoulders; "If it were to be true, it'll always find it's way back." he gave her an assuring smile.
MinHo casually pushed Kris's arm off, replacing it with his; he coughed, giving Kris a playful glare.
Nana looked up at Mir, who gave her the same look; they glanced at TaeMin as well, as if it were a signal to all go meet in the kitchen.
"If Krystal isn't going to get a DNA sample, I will." Nana told them.
"Nana, are you sure about this? Like everyone else is saying, what if it's just a coincidence?" TaeMin asked.
"And if it's not?" Nana retorded back, "Krystal has been looking for her siblings ever since they disappeared, and now that we may have a lead; I'm not gonna give this one up."
Mir nodded his head, "It is the least we can do for Krystal, it will take out at least a little bit of her stress if it were to be true."
"Does Jessica have any siblings?"
All 3 of them turned around, completely shocked by Kai walking in on his own.
"Yah dongsaeng, don't scare us like that." TaeMin punched his arm, Kai just laughed.
Kai shrugged his shoulders, "I'm kinda with Nana on this one. I feel like since it's been so long, Krystal has given up on finding her siblings. And if Jessica is her missing sister, she should have some type of lead to where her brother is as well."
"Kai, you've grown to be such a smart young man." TaeMin pinched his cheeks and messed up his hair a bit.
"Hyung, I'm not a little boy anymore!" Kai snarled, disgusted by his brother's actions; "In fact, I think I look older than you."
"Hey!" TaeMin was about to hit him again, but Mir grabbed his arm; "Let's just talk about how we're gonna get this plan going."
"Well first off, only us 4 can know; actually, I think MinHo would be a good help too." Nana said, "But I don't want Krystal knowing because it's just gonna cause her more stress."
They nodded their heads in agreement, "Since MinHo's the closest to Jessica out of us, I think he could probably get a hair sample out of her; or anything actually. I'll be in charge of Krystal." Nana added again, "TaeMin, I want you to tell MinHo whenever you get the chance." She paused, "As for Mir, would you see if you could do some research on Jessica's background?"
They all nodded their heads, they were determined to help Krystal.
- later that night -
Kai continued on sipping his banana milk, "We'll be sitting over there in the stands." he told TaeMin, bowing before walking away with his group of friends.
Krystal and Nana walked ahead of Mir, TaeMin, and MinHo; so TaeMin took at as the opportunity to talk about their plan, "So do you get we want you to do?"
MinHo nodded his head, "Come to think of it, when I first bumped into Krystal; I thought she was Jessica for a quick second, except with dark hair."
"Because it's probably true!" Mir exclaimed, "Their personality's are the same, they move the same, and they both talk the same."
"What are you guys talking about?" Key skipped his way over, a bit nervous by what he was going to do.
"It's nothing." A startled TaeMin responded, he looked at Key; "Where the hell have you even been all day?"
Key moved over to the left, behind him stood JongHyun; who just stared at all 3 of them.
They didn't have anything to say, nor did they want to talk to him just yet; Mir and TaeMin turned to leave, but MinHo started to talk.
"What is he doing here? And why the hell are you with him?" MinHo asked Key, pointing to JongHyun.
"Don't blame this on him, he-"
"I wasn't talking to you!" MinHo yelled, running his hands through his hair; "You sure do have some balls to come over here and talk to us, yet alone get Key on your side."
"MinHo!" Key screamed, "You don't have to make a scene!"
MinHo rolled his eyes, "So now I'M the one making the scene? Excuse me, I don't try to force girls to have ."
JongHyun looked down in shame, he himself felt disgusted when he thought about it.
"MinHo stop."
All the guys turned around, Onew stood there; glaring at all of them.
"Onew!" MinHo called out, "Glad you decided to join our little talk."
Onew rolled his eyes, pointing at Mir; "Go distract the girls and get them out of anywhere in sight, we're just gonna have a talk."
Mir nodded his head, going and doing what he was told.
"Actually, I thought this talk was just about to end-"
"Enough." Onew cut MinHo mid-sentence, who no one ever dared to do.
MinHo narrowed his eyes, "What hyung?"
"Will you just let JongHyun talk and quit thinking the world revolves around you? I thought Krystal has changed you already, but it looks like she hasn't." Onew shook his head in disbelief.
JongHyun looked up at Onew in shock, as did the rest of them; "Hyung.."
TaeMin and Key looked at each other, they both had no idea what was going on; nor did they understand what was even happening.
"So you're telling me that you're taking the side of this kid?" MinHo scoffed, laughing, but there was a break in his voice; "This is fckng ridiculous."
JongHyun swallowed, "MinHo, please just let me-"
"I don't even wanna hear it." MinHo said, "JongHyun, you were like a brother to me; although I knew you were always a jerk, I never knew it'd end up like this. All you do is lie, then apologize. Fck up, then apologize. It's basically a routine, and I for one am fcking sick of your sht." he breathed out, "I've been waiting for months to tell you this."
JongHyun clenched his fists, he wanted to punch him; he wanted to punch the life out of him, but in the back of his mind; Jihae would always pop up, and he couldn't find the guts to anymore. "Things are different now MinHo."
MinHo rolled his eyes, pushing his chest; "Some thing's never change, remember that." After that being said, he walked off; leaving the four of them to themselves.
- during grad practice -
Krystal wiped some fur off of MinHo's chest, "What's wrong? You seem really tense?"
MinHo looked down, sighing deeply; he didn't want to cause any more trouble to her life, "It's nothing." he smiled, kissing her forehead.
"Alright." Krystal smiled at him, giving him a side hug; not wanting to let go, although she did notice that MinHo didn't really hug back like he usually did; she just let it go. He's probably just having a rough day.
- meanwhile -
"About what happened earlier, I didn't think things were gonna end up like that." Key told JongHyun, scratching his arm in nervousness; "I'm really sorry."
JongHyun just shrugged his shoulders, looking at all the students who gave him the same exact glares; "I've become immune to all this hate. And MinHo is the last person I would expect to forgive me."
Since JongHyun and Key had the last name, they stood next to each other right away; making things more simple for each other.
"Krystal Jung, your spot is here." The principal announced through the mic, calling her over.
MinHo stood next to the rest of the Choi's, not wanting Krystal to go; and what made it worse, was the fact that her last name started with a J; and JongHyun's was a K. What if they're next to each other? he looked down at Krystal, worried; "Promise me you'll be okay."
Krystal narrowed her eyes, laughing; "I'll just be right over there." she looked at him, confused; "See ya in a bit." she let go of his hand, walking away.
The principal pointed to Krystal's spot, she looked up to who was beside her; there were two guys, but both were turned around and she only saw their backs. "I wonder who that is." The thought of JongHyun completely slipped her mind.
As Key and JongHyun were speaking, Key noticed Krystal walking up the steps; "Oh my God.." he covered his mouth in shock.
"Bwoh?" JongHyun turned around, and right as he did; his eyes met Krystal's.
