“Wah….Congratulations on your promotions.”

“I mean I guess Taeyeon.” Tiffany looked at the paper in front of her. Her eyes were a little sad and Taeyeon noticed it too.

“Aren’t you happy getting promoted?”

“Not really…”

“Why? It’s such a good chance for you to work with good scientist from other department.”

Tiffany didn’t respond and gave the promotion paper to Taeyeon to look at. Taeyeon read through it out loud.

“Congratulations Tiffany Hwang for getting promoted to being Lead Biomedical Scientist on Floor E. If you would—wait. What?” Taeyeon looked back at the sentence again. “Floor E?”

Tiffany nodded.

“Is that the reason why you’re not happy about the promotion? But why?”

“It’s…*sigh* you won’t understand.” Tiffany grabbed the promotion paper and threw it in the trash can. “I’m not going to accept it. I’ll just email them that I don’t want it.”

“But whyyyy?” Taeyeon rolled her chair over to Tiffany’s desk.

“Like I said you won’t understand.”

“Of course I’ll understand. I’m your friend.” Taeyeon gave Tiffany her best smile. Tiffany couldn’t help but to smile too, but her smile quickly dropped.

“Yeah…friends.” Tiffany quickly mumbled to the point Taeyeon couldn’t hear her. “Just…I’m just fine without a promotion.”

Taeyeon respected Tiffany’s decision. “I guess…” The older girl went back to her desk and continued her work on. Tiffany looked up from her computer and took a quick peek at Taeyeon and couldn’t help but to sigh at the situation she was in.

“Ms. Hwang has declined the promotion offer Mr. Hwang.”

Mr. Hwang who’s in his chair quickly turned around. “What? Any reason on why she rejected the offer?”

“No sir.”

Mr. Hwang on his cigar for a second.

“I want you to install a surveillance camera tonight when everybody I gone. Preferably right at where Tiffany sits.”

“Is this really necessary sir?”

“Yes.”

“Understood Mr. Hwang. I will make sure a surveillance camera is installed tonight.”

Junyoon was about to leave the office until Mr. Hwang said something else.

“Make sure no one finds out okay?”

“Yes sir.”

Tiffany looked at her watch.

“Ugh. It’s already 10 pm. Why didn’t you just remember to bring those document you needed when you were about to leave Tiffany?” Tiffany quickly when into HMC and rode up the elevator up to Floor S. After reaching her destination, she walked towards the door and was about to use her card to get in the office until a light inside made her stop.

’What was that.’

She saw the light again and quickly ducked down.

‘Holy . Why is there a light? Did they break in?’

Tiffany slowly brought her head up and looked around the office and saw something weird.

‘What is that? It looks like…’ Tiffany eye’s focused on one particular object on the table. ‘Is that a surveillance camera? But why?’

Tiffany continued looking at the person installing the camera and quickly ducked when the person turned around.

When the person turned around, they noticed something. It was a shadow by the glass door. It was very noticeable since the hallways lights are always . Despite they saw a shadow, the person acted like they never noticed it and went back to work, continuing installing the camera.

Even though the documents inside the office was pretty important, Tiffany didn’t want to risk her life getting it. Tiffany slowly walked away from the door and made a quick exit.

*RING RING*

“What human being calls so late at night? Oh my god.” Taeyeon with her eyes closed grabbed her phone on her nightstand.

“What the do you want? Don’t you know it’s almost 2 in the morning?” With that, Taeyeon end the call without giving the person on the other line a chance to talk.

“Jesus Christ…”

Just when she was about to close her eyes again…

*RING RING*

“Why do you keep—”

“Taeyeon it’s me.” Taeyeon quickly recognized that voice.

“Oh…” Taeyeon her bed light and sat up with her eyes still closed. “Why did you call so late Tiffany?”

“It’s because I couldn’t sleep because there was this thing on my mind.”

Taeyeon put the phone far away to yawn so Tiffany couldn’t hear it. “What would that be?” Taeyeon said in almost a disinterested voice. Well she was interested in Tiffany’s problems. Just not when it’s 2 in the morning.

“So I was going to HMC to get some documents that I forgot to take home with me at 10 pm and while I was there, I saw someone weird.”

That statement made Taeyeon’s eyes popped open. “Someone? Shouldn’t everybody be home at that time?”

“Yeah. That was what I was thinking too, but—”

Taeyeon quickly interrupted Tiffany. “Tiffany are you sure it’s not the security that’s patrolling the area?”

“If it was the security, they wouldn’t have a surveillance camera beside them.”

“They could be just re-installing that camera since it’s broken.”

“They don’t install camera inside offices. They only would install them outside the hallways.”

“Are you sure? I mean if what you said is true, this is really weird.”

“Should we tell the security about this?”

“Let’s just see what happens to tomorrow okay? Don’t worry.”

“Okay then. Sorry for disturbing you.”

“You better. Calling me at 2 in the morning. Geez Tiffany.”

With Taeyeon’s sentence, Tiffany suddenly felt a guilt rushed into her. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m just kidding Tiffany. I’m glad you told me about this, but honestly I’m going to bed. I’m really tired.”

“Okay Taeyeon. Night.”

Both users hanged up and went to bed.

Taeyeon and Tiffany walked in the office together and surprise surprise, a camera was indeed on top of Tiffany’s desk like it was spying her. Taeyeon nudged Tiffany in the ribs, hinting not to make eye contact with it. Both acted normally and went to their seat.

The first Tiffany did when she reached her desk was she pulled out her phone and texted Taeyeon.

“Look! I told you!” – Tiffany

Taeyeon heard her phone buzz and pulled out hers also.

“Just. Just calm down Tiffany.” - Taeyeon

“How can I be calm if I know someone is watching you and me working? I think we should tell the security about this.” – Tiffany

“Tiffany. Think through this. The person got into the office without breaking into anything meaning someone in the company told them to install it there. Obviously that person have a lot of power to ask someone to do that meaning even if you told the securities, they’ll have the same power to bribe them. Just don’t panic. I’ll try to find out why okay.” – Taeyeon

“But Taeyeon…I’m scared.” – Tiffany

“Don’t be scared. I’ll always be by your side.” – Taeyeon

Somehow when Tiffany read Taeyeon’s latest text, her heart felt all fuzzy.

“Okay then.” – Tiffany

Tiffany put her phone away and started to do her daily routine while Taeyeon still pretended to text someone, but actually took a picture of the camera.

“Someone was there when the guy was installing the camera sir.”

“Quite careless of you Junyoon. Who was the person?”

“Ms. Hwang sir.”

Mr. Hwang quit his cigar.

“Are you sure Junyoon?”

“Yes. We checked the camera in the hallway and it did indeed show Ms. Hwang.” Mr. Hwang stayed silent a little bit to think about what to do next. “Why don’t you just tell Ms. Hwang sir?”

“You think she’ll understand?”

“Well sir. It’s better than you trying to do all this stuff because sooner or later she’ll found out that you’re her real father.”

“What happens if she hates me?”

“That sir is something I can’t help you. If you truly want her to be yours again, tell her the truth. Tell her really what happen.”

Mr. Hwang didn’t speak anything and sat there silently faced the window.

“I’ll be outside sir. Just call me if you need anything.”

Junyoon was about to leave the room until Mr. Hwang broke the silence.

“Bring me Tiffany.”

Junyoon smiled.

“Yes sir.”

“Tiffany!” A sound was heard amongst people’s conversation. “Go to Floor H.”

“Floor H? Isn’t that the CEO’s room?” “Why would she be called there?” Some employees murmured.

Tiffany glanced at Taeyeon for a second before standing up from her chair.

“Fighting!” Taeyeon said quietly while doing a fist pump.

Tiffany smiled in response and went off to the CEO’s office. The girl was nervous, thinking all the possibilities of why she would be called there.

‘Why am I called up there? Oh my god…do you think it’s because of the surveillance camera thing? .’

The poor girl couldn’t help but to sweat a little. She tried keeping a calm face, but her body says a whole another different thing.

*DING*

The door to the elevator finally opened and Tiffany stepped out. Tiffany noticed that the CEO’s floor definitely looked nicer than other floors in HMC. With nervousness almost overwhelming her, she walked up and talk to the secretary.

“Excuse me. I was sent here?”

“Okay let me see. Tiffany Hwang?”

“Yes.”

“Okay. Go right in.”

Tiffany thanked the secretary before going into Mr. Hwang’s room. The poor girl took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself before entering.

‘Here goes nothing.’

Tiffany pushed the door open and from Tiffany’s perspective, someone was sitting in a leather chair facing behind her.

“Hello? I was called here?”

“…”

Tiffany didn’t hear anything and that made the situation really awkward for her.

“Um…hello?”

With no seconds to spare, the person behind the chair turned around, revealing his face. Tiffany could recognize that face anyway even if it’s been about 20 years.

“Dad…”

i'm not sure if this is the best way of revealing it lol. i might change it later.

YAY I UPDATED :D. 

I've just been really tired the past couple of days because of summer practices and all that shizz. I want to say that the story will eventually get into more action. I don't want to rush to fast on the story to the point where it doesn't make sense.

i've been literally typing this update for about 4-5 hours (including times where i go off task lol)
