Chapter 4

Taemin gritted his teeth. Naeun. Naeun cheated on him?!

At first he didn’t believe it but seeing her face and how panicky she acted it clicked in his mind. Recently she’s been skipping out on their dates but he didn’t think much of it since he trusted her and believed it when she said that it was just family things. Family things my .

“Naeun!” Taemin spoke fiercely quieting his girlfriend. Each student in the class was focused on the couple. Naeun eyes were teary and her face flush, Taemin didn’t even look at her. “I’m done, it’s over.” He spoke, dismissing the whole ordeal and sat back down in his chair.

“Wha-what?” tears were threatening to fall. “It was a mistake! Please please!”

Taemin ignored her and started flipping through a book laid out on his desk. Worried looks were thrown. Yet the group acted like nothing happened, even the cries of Naeun as she ran out, but not before slapping Myungsoo, was ignored.

Taemin sighed. I thought it was going to be different this time. The glances were starting to bug him. Without a care he headed out the door towards the dance studio, hoping it’ll take his mind off the pain his heart was feeling.

Sehun stood to follow him but was stopped by a grab on his sleeve. Hyeri was shaking her head, pointing out that the teacher just walked in. “Another time” she said before sitting back down.

Sehun obeyed, his mind wandered off during the whole lecture though. It’s my fault that he’s like this now. It- that shouldn’t have happened.

Jaebum walked back to class, his head swarming with questions when he found himself on the floor.

“Hey! Watc--, Taemin?” Jaebum looked up to see Taemin pushing past him.

“Wait up! Where are you going?!” Sighing at the lack of response from the boy disappearing down the hall, Jaebum dusts his pants off before tailing behind Taemin. Screw class.

Back in the classroom:

The vocal teacher dismissed the class. “Remember that I’m going to be posting your partners tomorrow outside the door! Play nice!” Teacher Yoon said with a wink before leaving.

“Krystal ah, who do you want to be partnered with?” Jiyoung asks taking a bite of her cookie as they walked.

Krystal raises an eyebrow “Do you even have to ask? Kai Oppa of course” She hooks her arm through Jongin’s. His face unreadable but puts on a smile, ruffling her hair “Who says I want to be with you? Sehun’s a much better choice” Jongin childishly responds, poking his tongue out.

“Pfft I doubt Sehun wants to be with you! Right Sehun?”

Sehun is brought back from his daydreaming with a sharp jab to his side. “Ow! What was that for?”

Krystal shrugs “You didn’t answer me pabo”

“Okay yeah but seriously are you lifting weights or something?! That was as hard as Suzy—“

A thoughtless comment and all of a sudden it was cold. Jongin stopped walking, Hyeri and Krystal both looked at each other. Jiyoung’s cookie was crushed in her hand but Ji eun was the only one that wasn’t bothered by the comment, she brushed it off like it wasn’t even worth a reaction.

“When are you all going to stop acting so stunned when her name pops up? We decided to do this, we all agreed to let her go. You know what she did and that’s final.” Jieun rounded on Sehun “And you--stop thinking about her, we all know you still do”

Sehun looked down. Jongin’s shoulder’s tensed but slackened in a blink of an eye. “I’ve got work soon, I’ll see you all tomorrow” He gave a squeeze to Krystal’s hand before heading down the hallway.

Loud voices were heard as Suzy made her way to the classroom. But for once all the focus wasn’t on her…yet. There was a group of students in front of her voice class, Aish! I knew I shouldn’t have skipped yesterday.

“What’s going on?” The pushing stopped and everyone parted for Suzy to see the paper that was taped to the door. She froze and a girl spoke to her

“S-Suzy-shi….umm i-its our partners for the--”

“I know what it’s for. I can read” Suzy sharply says making the girl squeak and run to her friends.

Suzy’s eyes focused once more on the paper.

Partner’s for Teacher Yoon’s voice class. Beside your names your topic is placed

Hyeri - - - - - Minah = Power

Jaebum - - - - Sehun= Love

Ji young - - - - Taemin= Loss

Kai - - - - Jieun= Friendship

Krystal - - - - Suzy = Freedom

Etc….

Freedom? What kind of topic is that? And me and Krystal? The teacher wants bloodshed.

The voices behind her got more frantic as more footprints were heard. Suzy looked back and saw Ji eun, Sehun, and Jaebum making their way towards her. Ji eun and Suzy held eyes for a moment before Ji eun shifted her eyes behind Suzy’s head.

“Kai and Jieun” She smirked “Well, that will be interesting, don’t you think Suzy ah?”

Suzy’s fists clenched but gave a fake smile “Oh I’m sure it will. I just hope you and your ways don’t give reasons for Krystal to be worried. Or have you learned to not play with others’ toys? You’ve always liked playing games anyways”.

The smirk on Jieun face fell off, she growled and pushed the students out of her way before entering the classroom. Other students followed after her, leaving Sehun, Jaebum and Suzy alone, out in the hall.

“Love? We of all people have to sing about love Sehun?” Jaebum didn’t know what to think. He’s never been in love before but Sehun, he had a bad history of that.

“Don’t worry boys, I’m pretty sure that little Hunnie here can teach Jaebum all about love. But wait, I could be wrong, I mean it’s not a secret that you liked Krystal but did you love anyone?”

Suzy flicked her hair back a sly smile on her face. Sehun kept his mouth shut, eyes not leaving Suzy’s mischievous ones.

“Don’t” Sehun whispers

“Why not? Didn’t you confess to me before?” Jaebum’s eyes widen at the two.

“You loved Suzy?!” Jaebum couldn’t believe it. “She was Kai’s Sehun ah!”

“Shut up and go inside the class” Sehun told Jaebum.

“Bu-“

“Go!”

And now only two were left outside the classroom. Sehun stepped closer to Suzy

“Don’t play with my feelings like that. Don’t act like it meant nothing to you when it did.”

Suzy tilted her head to the side “Did it? It might have. True. But did the word love mean anything to you?” She moved closer to him, so close that she could count each one of Sehun’s eyelashes.

“Did you really love me? Because if you did we wouldn’t be like this now” Her eyes looked harsh but Sehun could barely focus, being so close to her.
