The Story of UsChapter 29.1: It hurts whenever I'm with you...
Chaerin heard the screech of brakes before she saw the car, behind the blinding lights. By then it was too late. Lost in her own world of misery, she had no thought to look before she stepped off the pavement. Urged on by the fender of the car, she spun across the road and for a few moments lay curled in blessed silence. It was though everything in the whole world had stopped. No traffic noise, no voices, no birds singing. Nothing, except a strange calm. She wasn’t even hurting.
Then came a hand, jerking her back to reality and dragged her back to the pavement. She struggled to turn her head to face her saviour.
Next came a voice from the road. A deep, gruff male voice. “Why the hell didn’t you look where you were going?”
Teddy nodded slightly and the angry driver just passed by with a solemn expression as Chaerin glared at the owner of the voice.
“Have you lost your mind?” Teddy scolded her but Chaerin was ignoring him. She was staring at her feet like she had grown an additional toe. She felt nothing. Her mind was full with empty spaces.
She was devastated. She doesn’t even know how she end up on the road and almost got hit by a car.
After a few seconds passed without receiving any reply, Teddy grabbed her hand and pulled her into the garden. Chaerin tried to jerk her arm but to no avail. He’s too strong to fight and right now, she doesn’t even have the strength to move. So she followed him helplessly.
He stopped abruptly and turned to face her. Teddy placed his hands firmly on her shoulder and looked at her in the eyes. He saw tears at the corner of her bloodshot eyes and the crystal was b in her eyes, waiting to spill in the next second.
