Epilogue
The Story of UsChaerin stood in the middle of a cemetery, with a bouquet of white lilies in her hand. She wore a gloomy expression as she placed the flowers near a grave and after a few minutes talking alone, she left.
After a few steps away, Ha Yi joined her, intertwined their fingers together, and they walked hand in hand to a nearby bench. Chaerin pulled the dark green parka she wore, close to her body as the chilly wind slammed her withered skin. Her black pointy boots already buried inside the white fluffy snow. And she shuddered in the coldness.
“Dad’s your first love…right?” Chaerin said in her soft and course voice. Smile stretched on her lips.
Ha Yi nodded with a thin smile. “Yes.”
Chaerin’s smile grew wider. “So am I.”
With heavy footsteps, I climbed the snowy hill, gasping in every thread I took. Walking had been a burden to me, and climbing, that’s the worst. I hate moving around. I preferred to stay at home, watching movies with a cup of coffee or watching my grandchild, Mina learning to walk.
I smiled foolishly.
Mina has been a jewel in my heart recently. Her adorable antics and her chiming laughters always make me laugh. Watching a child grew up really was a wonderful experience. My baby Ha Yi has grown up to be a beautiful lady, just like her mother and she was married to no other than, Kim Ji Hoon, Taeyang and Bom’s eldest son.
And as Mina was born, she became the seizure for both of the families.
After a few forceful steps, I reached the top of the hill and I spotted Chaerin and Ha Yi, chatting on the bench. As I getting nearer, they rose up and they smiled upon watching me huffing and puffing the winter air.
“I think I should buy those motored wheelchair,” I confessed. “…walking makes me tired.”
They burst out laughing and I frowned.
“We’ll buy it for you next time, Dad,” Ha Yi said softly and grasped my arm. She helped me walking up as Chaerin reached out for me.
