We’ve been trying to work things between the two of us to improve our relationship. I’ve been learning about him and he’s been learning about me so that at the very least when in public we won’t get caught that we are just acting as happily, married in love couple

“oh we’re here” he announces and pull over in front of the hospital

Oh shocks. Now is what I fear most. How will appa and Jongdae react to such sudden news?

“yah, aren’t we going yet? Stop spacing out” he calls out as he stepped out of the car. I removed my seatbelt and followed him in suit towards the hospital. In there, it was him followed me because I am the one who knows where the hospital room of my father is.

“you do remember our agreement, right?” he asks me as we walked towards appa’s hospital room.

“dae, why?” I asked him back

“I hope you do keep this as a secret from everyone else, even to your dad” he stated

“I will, don’t worry” I reassured him. “you stay here first, I’ll call you out later” I told him before I opened appa’s hospital room door. He just nodded and leaned against the wall with his hands on his pocket

“good morning dad!” I greeted as soon as I entered his room

“Taengoo! I’m so happy to see you” dad greets me back as he hugged me

“what made you visit on a weekday? Aren’t you busy with work?”

‘well dad, this is my work now’ I answered at the back of my head

“wae? Can’t I visit my dad whenever I miss him?”

“aigoo, my Taengoo” dad laughs a little

“but, seriously Taeng, is there something that you want to talk about now for you to come all the way here?” dad is sharp, he is my dad after all

“well, to be honest, I came here to introduce you to someone” I started

“is it a boyfriend?” he asks

“something of that sort appa”

He raised his eye brows showing his interest. I walked towards the door and opened the door to call someone out. “Chanyeol ah” I called out. He looked to my direction and entered my father’s room

“Good morning sir, I am Park Chanyeol” Chanyeol introduced himself to my father as he extends his hand to shake hands with him

“Kim Soo Hyun, Taeyeon’s appa. Are you my Taengoo’s boyfriend?” dad speculates

“actually, I’m-“ I cut him off                                                                                                                                

“he’s my fiancé” I said as I clung to Chanyeol’s arm to make us more convincing

My father’s eyes literally popped out when I uttered the word ‘fiancé’. Surprise was written all over his face. Well, who wouldn’t be? I mean, I am his only daughter and for 25 years of my existence he was there beside me to see me grow. In those years, I have never mentioned about having a boyfriend not even a story about me having a crush was heard from me. And now, I suddenly introduce a man and say that I’m engaged to him, isn’t that a big surprise?

“f-f-f- fiancé” appa stammers

“yes appa, I am engaged to him and we are getting married next month” I announced showing him the diamond ring on my finger

“what?!” his voice reverberates in the entire room

“w-w-we’re getting married” I nervously answered

“Chanyeol, can you leave me and my daughter for awhile?” he asks Chanyeol. Chanyeol  just nods and squeezed my hand lightly, gesturing that he was somewhat asking permission and somewhat offering me his support. I looked at him and nod. Oh boy, I need a lot of explaining to do now
