Both Mina and Jihae sat down on the sofa and looked at each other.

"You ready?"

Jihae shook her head. "Do we really have to do this?"

Mina hit Jihae's lap. "Of course we do!"

"So there's no other way?"

"Yahhh." Mina glared at Jihae.

"Fine, Fine." Jihae slowly picked up her phone and looked at it.

Mina couldn't take it any longer and took the phone from her.

Mina pressed the numbers and the call button.

"There! Finally! Now just say what we rehearsed."

Jihae looked at Mina in shock.

"YAH! I WASN'T READY!"

Mina shrugged and pointed to the phone.

"It's ringing!"

Jihae put the phone next to her ear and waited for the other person to pick up.

After a couple of rings, someone picked up.

"Hello?"

Jihae sat there frozened.

The person repeated himself again, "Hello?"

Jihae slowly breathed in and out.

"D-Dad?"

There was a long silence.

The voice softened. "Jihae?"

Jihae could feel tears forming in her eyes.

How long has it been since i last heard his voice..

"Yes. It's me."

"What is it? Why are you calling me?"

Jihae's dad changed back to his stern voice.

Jihae sighed and looked down.

"I just.. wanted to hear your voice."

There was another silence.

"Is that all? Don't call me if it's not important."

"It is important!"

Jihae's dad sighed as he heard Jihae sniffing.

"I'm busy right now."

This time Jihae sighed and wiped her nose.

"Okay. Bye dad."

"Bye Jihae."

Before Jihae was about to hang up, she heard him quietly say, "Make sure you take care of yourself."

And then he hung up.

Jihae slowly put down the phone and wiped her eyes.

Mina looked at her worriedly.

"What happened? Are you okay?"

Jihae slowly started smiling and nodded.

"You were right."

Mina grinned. "He always cared about you."

Jihae looked Mina in the eyes and nodded.

"I'm going to go to America to see him. I need to fix things that should of been done years ago."
