The Fourth Chapter

More often than not, Sehun have read from books and watched from movies about girls who caught their boyfriends cheating on them with another girl. On most cases, they would either: A) Run away crying and be an emotional mess but stupidly accept their jerk of a boyfriend again after a little coaxing, or B) Run amok and drag the other girl by the hair, beating it up like a madwoman and murdering her cheater boyfriend. The murder part was a bit exaggerated but for Jung Daesom’s case, she was most likely to pick option B. But he immediately dismissed these thoughts because after all, he was not Jung Daesom’s boyfriend.

She walked over to their spot, dodging crazy and drunk people dancing, with that very calm exterior of hers. Sehun loosened up his hold on Minji, so she could run away later and he couldn’t really stand holding her, or any other human being for that matter. But his manager’s niece tightened her arms around his neck and leaned a lot closer to him. By that time, Jung Daesom was already at their side.

“I wouldn’t hug that person for that long, if I were you.” She spoke on her usual icy tone. She was looking at Minji now, who just seemed to notice her presence.

Minji, finding out that Daesom was talking to her, turned to her with a glare. “What are you talking about? And who are you?”

“Sehun’s girlfriend.” She answered in a heartbeat.

At her answer, Minji’s eyes rounded. “You have a girlfriend? She’s your girlfriend?” She looked up at Sehun who didn’t find this surprising.

“Believe me, she’s not.” Sehun took advantage of her shock and removed her arms away.

Minji blinked a few times before turning to Daesom again. She gathered a little of her confidence back, despite Daesom’s intimidating gaze. “Sehun says you’re not his girlfriend. I haven’t even seen you with him before. Maybe you’re just one of those delusional girls chasing after him.”

To this, Daesom scoffed. “Aren’t you talking about yourself? Didn’t you notice that Oh Sehun doesn’t like you touching him? He just used you to back me off. It’s quite pathetic, really.” Minji froze with the exception of her trembling lips. Daesom took a step closer to her and hissed, “Now, get away from him before I drag your hair away like those crazy es on movies.”

Sehun caught sight of the tears b on Minji’s eyes before she ran away from the dance floor and stormed out of the club. He let out a tired breath, finding everything ridiculously stressful. “You made her cry.” He stated nonchalantly.

Daesom cocked a brow at him. “It’s not my fault, it’s yours. Don’t you feel guilty at all that you used her?”

“I don’t.” He had no time to be guilty for other people. He had no time to care for anyone. He spun on his heels to leave the place but Daesom stopped him by the arm. Her hand was cold, like that of her chilly voice, and that was a wonder for summer just left so the temperature didn’t drop low yet. He faced her with a scowl on his face. “What?”

“Stay away from other girls. I don’t like sharing things I own with other people.” She calmly answered.

“You don’t own me so get the hell out of my life.” He hissed and harshly took his arm from her hold. He should escape out of that place. Away from her.

“You leave me no choice.” Daesom whipped out her phone from her pocket and pressed some keys. Sehun wondered what the heck she was doing. He was caught off guard when she positioned it in front of his face and a bright flash of light made his eyes squint right after her words, “Say kimchi.”

He blinked a few times because of the sudden brightness and when he fully opened them again, Daesom was typing something on her phone. “What the fu—Did you just take my picture?!” He snarled at her and tried to snatch her phone away but she dodged it.

“Yes. It’s time for everyone to know.”

“Everyone to know what –“ As if on cue, Sehun’s phone vibrated from his jeans pocket, indicating a message. Normally, he would just ignore it but he had a strong feeling the text was related to what Jung Daesom was talking about. He quickly opened the message and an image was attached to it.

“You could have tried smiling, you know.” She told him mockingly, smirking when she saw Sehun’s outraged expression.

“I swear, Jung Daesom, I’m going to kill you.” His tone was dangerous and anyone would cower away with the murderous look on his eyes but Daesom wasn’t just anyone.

Apparently, she just sent him, and probably all her contacts (which could also mean everyone from the university) his photo that she just took. He was stupidly frowning with his eyes squinting and under that was Daesom’s message: This ugly guy is my boyfriend. You es can now back off.

Sehun was breathing heavily now and he was restraining himself from choking Jung Daesom to death. Not only did she humiliate him in front of everyone, she was also unceremoniously barging in his life. He tried to calm himself down, though, because making him furious was what she wanted. He had never shown much reaction like this for a long time and that would be bad for him.

Taking a deep breath and exhaling it right after, he quickly went back to where his friends were, leaving Daesom. She took her time following after him though, as if she was sure that he would never get away that easy.

When Sehun arrived at their table, he was welcomed by Chanyeol’s loud, annoying laughter. He was more than sure that they have received Daesom’s message. “Dude! What the hell is this about?” He waved his phone in front Sehun’s face but the latter ignored it and searched for his jacket.

Baekhyun was snickering on Chanyeol’s side. “You could have posed better though.”

Jongin was trying to hold back his laughter as well. “Did Daesom follow you here? Where is she?”

He didn’t answer their questions nor spared them a glance. He grabbed his jacket from his seat, ready to leave the place. But as he turned around, he came face to face with the bane of his existence.

“Leaving so soon, boyfriend?” Daesom tilted her head with an amused smirk that Sehun wanted to rip off her face.

He didn’t answer her. Instead, he shoved her harshly to the side to make way. He heard his friends asking where he was going and that he should be gentler with his girlfriend but he completely tuned them all out. That was enough trouble for one night.

Soon after, Sehun found himself on the parking lot, about to enter his car. But, of course, Jung Daesom would be on his heels. “You should give me a ride home. I went to the trouble of chasing that girl away from you, after all.”

Sehun decided that he would end this right here and now. Daesom was obviously startled when he just grabbed and forcefully pushed her against the side of his car.

“You listen to me well, Jung Daesom.” He started with an ominous tone, loathing dripping on his every word. “What happened to us before, it was all nothing. I don’t know what you want with me or what you’re planning but leave me out of it completely. I don’t have time to play with your little games. If you’re that bored, why don’t you go back to that ex-boyfriend of yours? Don’t waste your time on me. From now on, stay away.”

Daesom listened to his words with a blank face but the moment he mentioned the word ‘ex-boyfriend’, her shoulders tensed, as if she wasn’t expecting that he would bring that up. When he finished, she wore no expression as she replied in a bitter voice, “This isn’t about Kris.”

He moved away from her and scoffed. “Then what is this about? Don’t freaking tell me you actually like me?”

“Don’t get too cocky, Oh Sehun. I’m not like that stupid girl earlier. We may have shared that moment before but I don’t feel anything towards you. I just find you someone convenient to be with.”

She explained but that made Sehun even more confused. “What the hell are you talking about?”

Daesom didn’t answer immediately as she bore her stare into his eyes. After quite some time, she looked away. “You’re someone who doesn’t like to care about other people, right? You keep yourself away from others, not letting anyone in.” She propped herself from his car and started walkin

Chapter 27: Even though thirteen years of marriage seems short, regardless the time given, they are truly happy. This is the most realistic ending. It’s a given and miracle to live that long when you have chronic illness.
