Chapter 5: Flashback

Memories from the past rushed on Hongbin’s mind upon hearing Yoonhee’s voice.

“Y-you don’t need me anymore,” Yoonhee whispered.
“I-I need you,” Hongbin was tightly holding your hand and begging you not to go.

You tried your best to hold back the tears which wanted to get off your eyes. “N-no. Don’t fool y-yourself. You can’t f-fool me anymore,” you stuttered,, shoulders are shuddering from holding your tears.
“I didn’t fool you. Everything is real! Believe me, Yoonhee!” Hongbin cried shaking you.
“No Hongbin. You’re lying,” you told him with a straight face. “This relationship should end now. You don’t need me anymore,” you added then removed his grip from your hand.

“Wait Yoonhee!” Hongbin yelled.

You ran upon leaving his touch and made your feet bring you wherever it wants you to be at.

“Hongbin?” the voice on the other line brought him back to his senses.
“Is this Yoonhee?” Hongbin asked.
“N-nae,” the girl on line answered shortly. Hongbin sighed in delight.
“I’m glad to hear your voice again,” he said. Yoojung was just watching him. “I’m sorry for not clearing things up with you before,” he added.
“I’m not going to listen to them today,” you butted in. “I called because I want toask you a favor,” you said.
“What is it? I’ll do anything,” Hongbin excitedly asked.

“Please stop loving me,” you said shortly.
Hongbin gave no response.
“I know everything you’re feeling now is due to pity. You should stop it now,” you explained.
“But-“
“I’ll hung up now. Goodbye,” you muttered then the line was cut.

“Are you alright?” Yoojung asked him.
Hongbin nodded. “Yes,” he looked at her. “Let’s bring you home now?” he offered.
Yoojung nodded and stood with Hongbin to leave the mall.

“Annyeong oppa~” Yoojung bid her goodbye.
“Goodbye Yoojung. Study well, okay?” he said then left.

“Oppa!” Yoojung called. Hongbin stopped to look back at her.
“Thank you for today. Let’s have fun like this again next time, can we?” she shouted.
“Of course we can,” Hongbin smiled. “Now, go inside and I’ll leave,” he added.
Yoojung nodded then went inside. Hongbin didn’t leave until he’s sure that Yoojung’s fine.
