You slowly opened your eyes and looked around you. Everything around you was unclear, so you tried to blink your eyes a few times, but things were still a bit blurry. You slowly supported yourself as you tried to sit up, but quickly stopped, as an intense pain shot through your head. You groaned and lifted your hand up to your head as you carefully rubbed the aching spot. As you removed your hand, it was covered in old dry blood. You furrowed your eyes as you tried to sit up again, but as the pain just became bigger, you gave up and lay back down.

As you lay there, you thought you could hear voices. You tried to look for the source of the sounds, but couldn’t find anyone. You thought about speaking. Maybe you could call for someone to help, and explain where you were; though the thought quickly left your mind when you recalled what had happened.

What if one of the voices belonged to the boy in the dream? You were sure that he wasn’t just some random person from your imagination. He could definitely have something to do with all of this, and if he had, then he would not be on your side. And therefore, he wouldn’t do you more good than what the big animal would.

I have to find some way to get away from here… You thought as you took a deep breath and forced yourself to sit up, despite the pain that pulsated through your head. You leaned your back against the rock behind you as you took another look at your surroundings.

You were in a cave. The cave weren’t deep, and the roof was high enough for you to stand upright and almost stretch out your arms above your head. Except from that it wasn’t much to look at; just a few rocks, roots and a bunch of leaves where you had been laying.

You took a deep breath before you stood up on your feet. One hand on the wall supporting you and giving you balance, the other on your head, as you now were so dizzy you felt like you were going to throw up at any second. You swallowed hard before you took a shaking step towards the opening. As you placed your foot on the ground and still stood upright, you smiled and took another. Before you knew it you had walked almost all the way to the opening. You looked out and saw an easy path that lead away from the sound of the voices.

You looked down at your feet and nodded silently. You were still weak, but you could do this. You knew you could, you had to. You had to get back to your family. You looked up and were just about to take a step forward, when some ones face blocked the way. His face was so close to yours, that you couldn’t even believe that you hadn’t heard him coming.

“You’re awake!” He said with a big smile covering his face. As he said that you screamed and stumbled backwards until you fell and landed on your . The smiling boys eyes widened a bit before he rushed over to help you.

“Careful! You can’t just expect that you’re able to just stand up and run around after sleeping so long.” He said as he sat crouched down to your height and helped you to sit properly. “You need to eat something first.”

“So long…” You mumbled, while the boy stood up and walked over to some place behind you. “What do you mean? How long have I been sleeping?”

“Three to five days. Depends on how long time you used to get here.” He said as he came back with a piece of meat. You looked at the raw meat and tried not to gag at the smell.

“I’m not eating that.” You said as you pushed his hand away. “And what do you mean by three to five days?”

The boy just rolled his eyes and stood up. “You came three days ago, and you have been sleeping since. I don’t know if you used one or two days to get here or if you came the same day as you left, he refused to tell me anything. Just laid you down and left.” Ha said as he put the meat back, and even thought you weren’t sure if he knew, you could hear him mumble; “That idiot”.

“Hold on a second. He?” You said as you looked at him.

“Yes he. All the girls are with the rest of the pack.” He said, as if it was one of the most obvious things in the world. Your head was spinning as you tried to make sense out of what he was saying.

“So you’re not the one who brought me here?” You said as you looked at him, totally confused.

“Me?” He laughed. “No, someone had to watch the brat.”

“Wait, the brat? There are three of you?” You said as you looked surprised at him.

“Didn’t you listen to what I just said? There’s a whole pack. I said it like ten seconds ago” He rolled his eyes as he stood up and picked you up like you didn’t weighed anything. You looked surprised at him as he started to walk towards the opening.

“Since you refuse to eat the meat as it is, I guess I’ll have to make a fire and grill it for you. Or is that disgusting too?” He said with a hint of amusement in his eyes. You looked away and shook your head.

“No, I’ll eat it when it’s grilled” You mumbled, to which he only responded with a laugh.

When he put you down on the ground, he started to build the fire, and all the time you kept watching him. He was very tall, even a little taller than your brother. His hair was dark, and he had a big smile. He seemed nice, but considering that he knew, and obviously cooperated with your kidnapper, you didn’t want to trust him too easily.

“You didn’t tell me your name.” You said as he looked up from the small fire he had made. He looked at the sparks as they turned to flames and stared to eat the wood.

“You didn’t ask for it.” He said with a smile.

“If I were to ask all the questions I had in mind, your ears would have fallen off.” You said, to which he responded with a laugh.

When he finished laughing, he walked over to the cave again, and for a second you started to wonder if he was actually going to answer your question. He sat down and started grilling the meat before he looked back at you with a friendly smile.

“Chanyeol. My name is Chanyeol.” He said. “And you’re Avry” He said, as you were about to open your mouth.

“How did you… Never mind.” You said as you just shook your head and looked at the fire in front of you. It felt warm, and you could honestly say that you were enjoying it. You stretched out your hands, and the tingling sensation in your fingertips made you smile.

“Here” Chanyeol said and handed you the piece. “Don’t worry, I let it cool down a bit, you won’t burn your fingers.” He smiled at you as he handed you the piece, and you gladly returned the smile before you took your first bite.

The taste of the meat was one of the most wonderful things you had ever tasted. It was simple to chew, and as it was no longer raw, it smelled delicious. You ate fast, hardly chewing at all, from another person’s point of view you looked like a hungry wolf attacking the piece of meat in your hands. Chanyeol just laughed as he saw how eagerly you were eating.

“See? I told you needed something to eat.” He laughed, while you threw the last piece into your mouth and your lips and fingers.

You slowly stood up, and slightly furrowed your eyebrows. You had forgotten about the pain in your head. It seemed like Chanyeol could see that you were in pain, as he came over and supported you.

“You hit your head pretty hard, that’s why you slept for so long. That pain is going to be there for a few days, but you’ll survive. Believe me, I’ve had worse injuries. And sorry for not whipping away the blood, we were afraid to wake you up. We figured you would probably flip out if you woke up with a bloody piece of cloth and three foreign persons looking down at you.” He said, to which you nodded your head. “There is a lake nearby if you want to wash yourself. I could show you the way if you want to. And don’t worry, I promise not to peek when you wash yourself.” He said with an amused smile, in which you chuckled a little and nodded your head.

“A swim would be great” And then you walked towards the lake.

Chanyeol made sure you would remember the way back, so that when you were done you could go back on your own. You understood that he didn’t want to be by the lake when you were swimming, the landscape was pretty much flat, and therefore, there was nothing he could sit behind so that you could be sure he wasn’t watching. And just as you hoped, you managed to find your way back. You knew that it would be a good opportunity to escaped, but considering how weak you were, you wouldn’t come far before you were too exhausted to continue. You therefore decided to stay until you knew more about where you were and had gathered enough strength to get home on your own.

As you came back, you could see Chanyeol standing next to the fire. He was talking to someone, but you could only see the back of the person sitting on the ground in front of the flames. As you came closer, Chanyeol looked up and waved at you.

“Avry! You’re back already? I thought you would be longer” He said as he came to meet you, while the other boy just threw a piece of wood into the fire.

“The water was a bit cold, so I came back.” You said as you finished braiding your hair.

“Very well then. Now go in there and get some sleep.” He said as pointed towards the cave. First you just looked at him, but as you realized that he was serious you let out a sigh.

“But I’ve already been sleeping for at least three days!” You whined

“That was because you were injured. Now you need to sleep if you want to regain all of your strength, and believe me when I say that you’ll need it.” He said, and you couldn’t help but to think that he behaved like a mother talking to a little child that wanted to stay up late and listen to the adults talk. You bit your lip as you thought of your mother. It hadn’t been too long since you last saw her, but you still missed her. As you stood there chewing on your lip and looking at your shoes you heard a voice from behind Chanyeol.

“Idiot! Now you’re making her cry!” You looked up, just to see a third boy appear. He was a bit taller then you, about the same height as your brother, with deep brown eyes and blond hair. He came towards you, while the second boy still focused on the fire.

“What do you mean I’m making her cry? Look at her! Do you see any tears?” Chanyeol defended himself. The blond boy rolled his eyes before responding.

“Just because you can’t see the tears yet, doesn’t mean they’re not there yet. Idiot”

“Fine then, I’m not in the mood to argue with you anyways.” Chanyeol said before he turned back to you and put on a smile. “I’m sorry Avry; can you please go to sleep?” He said and made his smile even bigger to the point that it almost freaked you out.

“Oh, yeah ‘cause that’s going to help” The blond boy said before he hit Chanyeol’s shoulder. “Stop doing that. It’s creepy.” He said before looking at you again. “Hm. You look better without blood and dirt in your face” He said, with something you believed was a smile, but as his face mostly was a poker face you couldn’t be too sure. He didn’t say anything more and just turned around and walked back to the fire. Chanyeol shook his head and let out a sigh.

“Excuse Sehun. He’s a brat and has been so ever since I met him. But he gave you a compliment though, and I’ve never seen him give anyone a compliment so shortly after he meets them before. Towards me he was cold and acted like a spoiled brat for three months before he started to open up for me. But don’t worry; you’ll learn to like him.” He said with a smile before he gestured towards the cave. “Come on. I’ll follow you.”

You silently nodded and followed him to the small cave. As you entered, you stopped and sat down in the opening and looked at the stars. The sky was pitch black and you couldn’t remember last time you had seen the starts so clearly. It made you happy to know that in all this mess, there was still something familiar to look at.

“Chanyeol” You said as he was about to leave. “Can I ask you something?”

He nodded and sat down beside you before he gave you his full attention, and in that moment you couldn’t help but to compare him to Tao. You really missed your brother, and wished that he could have been there with you; though you knew too well that he couldn’t.

“You said that I’ll need all my energy, but for what?” You asked as you looked at him. He smiled at you before replying.

“We’re not going to be here for long. The camp is too small and too open. If we get attacked it would be hard to get away without too serious injuries. Without you it could have been okay, but since you’re here we have to watch over you too.”

“So you’re saying that you’re going to take me to the rest of the pack?” You questioned, and a tiny feeling of fear started to build up in your chest.

“No. We couldn’t do that yet. If we were to go straight to the pack now, the first thing they would do when we arrived would be to jump at you and tear you apart.” He said calmly, while your eyes widened. As Chanyeol saw that he started to laugh and carefully tousled your hair. “But don’t worry about that now. Get some sleep and we’ll answer more of your questions tomorrow. Okay?”

You nodded your head as the two of you stood up. As you were about to turn around and walk into the cave, you couldn’t help but to look at the boy by the fire. You could see him more clearly now. Pitch black and tousled hair, lean and muscular body. He had risen to his feet, making you able to see that he was about the same height as you brother and Sehun. Because of the darkness, you couldn’t see his eyes too clearly, but you guessed they were somewhere between black and brown. As you looked at him he threw another stick on the fire.

“Chanyeol” You said before the tall guy walked away. He turned to you with a questioning gaze. “Who’s that?” You asked as you looked at the boy. Chanyeol looked at you, before he followed your eyes to the boy by the fire.

“That’s Kai” He said. “He’s the one that brought you here.”
