Uniform ready?

Check!

Hair in high ponytail?

Check!

Everything in bag?

Check!!

I smiled at my own reflection in my room’s mirror and nodded satisfied.

I looked decent enough for school.

Grabbing my school bag, I skipped out of my room and jumped down the stairs, arriving at the kitchen table, sitting myself down next to my mother.

“Morning.” I greeted my parents.

“Good morning Hasun.” Mom smiled warmly at me as dad gave me a throaty hum.

“Still sick dad?”

Dad nodded his head and drank some warm herbal tea.

I shrugged and quickly took my chopsticks in my hand, scooping up some rice to put it in my mouth.

“Don’t eat that fast Hasun.” Mom scolded me as I just smiled before eating a piece of the sausages on table.

“How late is it?” I asked after swallowing my food.

“It’s seven…” mom said from the kitchen sink.

“What?! I’m going to be late! I have duty today!” I screamed, making dad look at me with narrowed eyes.

I smiled sheepishly before storming all the food in my bowl down my throat and grabbing my jacket and bag.

“Don’t run! You just ate.” Mom scolded me, but again I just shrugged and put my shoes swiftly on and opened the door, running to school.

I panted as I arrived at the school’s gate.

Some girls looked at me with criticizing eyes, but I walked away from all the attention, going on my way to my classroom.

I opened the door and quickly started cleaning the board and refreshed the flowers with clean water.

Rubbing my hands in satisfaction, I walked out of the room again, going to my locker to put some things in it.
