Chapter 13

Umma, Saranghaeyo...

*Present*

The young 34 years old woman wipes her tears and gets up from the couch. She then says to her son and the young teenage girl that she'll go make dinner in the kitchen.

She excused herself and walked off into the kitchen.

"Come with me, Tiffany. I'll show you my room." said Yoong.

Tiffany shakes her head.

"I'll just stay down here. My father told me to never go into a boy's room alone with the boy." she says.

Yoong leans over and whispers into her ear.

"Tiffany... did your father ever tell you to not go into a man's room?"

Tiffany shakes her head.

Yoong grins and takes her hand and leads her upstairs and they went to his room.

Once inside, they sat on his bed.

Tiffany made sure to sit as far away from Yoong as possible.

"Why are you sitting so far away?" asked Yoong.

"Come sit closer." he says.

Tiffany shakes her head.

Yoong didn't like her answer so her scoots closer to her.

"W.what do you think you're doing?" she asked.

"Sitting closer to you." he answered.

"I don't like it." she frowns.

"Why not?"

"It's uncomfortable."

"Well.. I like you and it wouldn't feel uncomfortable if you'll just open up your heart to me." he said bluntly.

Tiffany couldn't believe that this guy was so straight forward.

She coughed and fakes a smile.

"You know what, oppa? I do like you." Tiffany lies.

Yoong's eyes sparkles.

"Really?"

"Yes. I actually really like you." Tiffany smiles and touched his arm.

Yoong felt himself shiver in excitement.

"And do you know why I like you?" she asked.

"Why?"

"Because I know that I will never love you and you'll take me back to the dorms right now and never bother me again." Tiffany coldly says.

Yoong's eyes widen.

He actually thought that Tiffany liked him.

"Take me home now." she demanded.

Yoong got mad and pushed her onto the bed and gets on top of her. He held both of her hands down.

"Yah! What the heck do you think you're doing?" she shouts but then stops when she saw him in tears.

"How can you not like me?" his voice trembled.

"Everyone likes me so why can't you?" he says.

Tiffany kept mum.

Seeing him cry made her think of the time she caught her father crying because of her mother. She never liked seeing anyone cry. Without thinking, Tiffany slips her hands out of Yoong's grip and placed them behind his head. Then she pulled him down and hugged him. He sobbed into her neck.

"I'm sorry... don't cry oppa.. I'm sorry." Tiffany began to cry as well.

"Tiffany, oppa's sorry for bothering you. It's just that I've never liked anyone before and you're the first person I really like." he sniffs.

Tiffany closed her eyes and she felt him kiss her neck.

"O...oppa....?"

"Hm?" Yoong continued kissing her neck.

"Can you stop?" she asked shyly.

He stops kissing her neck and lifts his head and looks at her.

"It's not that I don't want you to but we're not together and I---" he placed a finger on her lips.

"I get it. I'll wait until you're ready." he smiles.

Tiffany smiles back at him and they continue to hug on his bed.

The truth is.. It's not that she didn't like him. In fact, she actually does like him but she was scared. She didn't want to lose another person who she trust and loves like how she lost her mother so she acts like she doesn't like him.

In the kitchen, Jessica was making dinner but there were still many things in her mind. She couldn't help but wonder if it was fate that brought her daughter back to her. Thinking about her daughter made her think of her ex-husband. She wondered who his fiance was and for some odd reason, she thinks she knows who it is.

She stirs the noodles in the pan and once it was finished, she adds in seasonings and soy sause and then she sets out plates and puts noodles in each plate. She puts each plate on the table and gets the drinks ready as well and also puts then onto the tables along with the utensils and napkins.

She saw down nervously as she waits for Yoong and Tiffany to come join her.

Minutes later, the two young adults came to join her and they sat across from her.

"Woah! I love this mom! It's so good!" Yoong grins as he ate his noodles.

Jessica chuckles.

"You always love anything I cooked." she says.

"That's because it's good!" he states.

Jessica took a sip of her water and looked at Tiffany with her eye brows raised.

"Aren't you eating, Tiffany?" she asked in english.

"Um... I don't mean to be rude but what's it this?" asked Tiffany.

Yoong gasped.

"You've never ate Chow fun before?! It's like the best asian food ever!" Yoong says.

Tiffany didn't say anything.

"Tiffany, if you don't want to eat this.. I could get you something else.. but you should try it. It's really good." says Jessica, smiling.

Tiffany shyly bows her head.

"I'm sorry for being rude, Mrs. Kwon. It's just that I don't normally eat at this time." she apologized.

"Not used to it?"

"Not really." Tiffany answered Jessica.

"You should still eat. I made this, you know." says Jessica.

"O..okay, Mrs. Kwon."

Again, hearing Mrs. Kwon come from her own daughter hurts her.

Jessica frowns then looks down at her lap.

"T..this is really good!" she hears Tiffany say.

Jessica looks up at Tiffany and saw her playing with Yoong.

"Yah! I can feed myself!" Tiffany whinned.

Yoong didn't listen and fed her.

Jessica smiles at the scene but then her smile drops.

She remembered the last time she fed Tiffany when she was still a child.

"Mommy, can you make me the big noodle I saw at the resturant?" asked 6 years old Tiffany, as Jessica fed her cereol.

Jessica hesitated but didn't answer, instead she careesed her baby's face.

"You're so beautiful, my sweet Miyoung."

Tiffany pouted.

"You promised me you'll make me big noodles, mommy~" She whinned.

Jessica forced a smile.

"Okay baby." and that was Jessica's last promise she made to her daughter. The promise that she never fullfilled.

Jessica remembered why she learned cooking and why she loved making the big noodles that Tiffany wanted to eat badly and it was because it reminded her of her Miyoung, her Tiffany, her baby girl who she left without saying goodbye to.

Jessica was doing the dishes when Tiffany walked beside her at the sink.

"Do you need help, Mrs. Kwon?" Tiffany asked, politely.

"No. Why don't you and Yoong go have some fun or watch t.v?" Jessica says.

"Yoong oppa went to pick Krystal up." Tiffany says, awkwardly.

"Then why don't you just sit down and watch me?" Jessica suggested.

"Okay." Tiffany sat down on a chair and watched the older woman wash and dry the plates and cups then puts them away.

Tiffany couldn't help but smile as she watched the woman work.

Jessica raised her brow at Tiffany when she saw her smiling.

"Why are you smiling for?" she asked.

"I never seen a woman work around the kitchen before like how you work." answered Tiffany. "If I had a mother, do you think she'll be in the kitchen working like you do?" she asked.

Jessica bit her lip.

"Y..yes.. I think so... come with me." she grabs Tiffany's hand and pulls her to her bedroom.

Jessica went through her closet then she grabs something and hands it to Tiffany.

"Here."

Tiffany looks at the toy then she takes it.

"Mrs. Kwon? Why's you give me this?" she asked.

Jessica says, "If you look at this toy, what does it remind you of?" she asked.

Tiffany thought about it then she says, "It reminds me of my childhood. I used to love toys." she smiled, looking at totoro.

"Mrs. Kwon, this toy looks like my very own totoro that I used to have. I don't know what happened to it. I think I lost mine." Tiffany pouts.

Jessica smiles.

Only she would know that Tiffany had never lost her totoro because she was the one who took it when she left.

Tiffany's pink totoro was the only thing that reminded her of her daughter so she took it.

'Oh.. if only you knew, Miyoung..' Jessica thought.

"Tiffany, do you know why I have this totoro?" she asked.

"Why Mrs. Kwon?" asked Tiffany.

"This toy reminds me of someone special so I kept it for memory." Jessica answered with a small smile as she took the toy from Tiffany.

"Who's that?"

"You don't need to know. It's just someone special." Jessica replied as she stared at Tiffany with love in her eyes.

'I love you, Miyoungie...'

Anyways, will Jessica reveal that she's Tiffany's mother?

What will Tiffany's reaction be?

Will Yoong and Tiffany ever be more than just friends?
