Leaving Behind
The Undercover PrinceLeaving Behind
Himchan thought Jeju Island was an amazing place if he wasn’t there because of work. He and his band mates just finished a live music show and their collective stomachs were complaining loudly. Thank goodness their manager directed the driver to take them the place they were going to stay for the night; somewhere a bit private but still with good food and about 20 minutes later, they arrived at a cozy looking pension next to the beach. He personally thought it was odd that they were not staying at their usual hotel but he was not in the mood to ask any questions. Anywhere with food and a bed was good enough for him.
It was probably nearing midnight and he thought it was great that the place was still opened. One by one, they started to get off the van and headed into the pension. The smell of warm home-cooked food made their water and stomachs grumble. Apparently, the driver made a call beforehand and the owner-ahjumma had prepared the food for them so that they could eat once they arrived.
Feeling grateful for such thoughtfulness, the boys started digging in and were delighted at the wonderful taste of the dishes in front of them. The dining area was filled with laughter and mild banter between the band members except for Himchan. They knew well enough to leave him be when he was in that kind of mood; brooding and sullen. He had been that way for the last three or four months.
While they were eating, Himchan noticed that the ahjumma looked very familiar somehow. He smiled to himself and thought that he might be losing it. How could an ahjumma remind him of Choi Sulli. As he started putting another succulent piece of meat into his mouth; the kitchen’s back door opened and the ringing of the bell made everybody looked at the new comer. Himchan dropped his chopsticks at the sight of the person who just walked in.
It was Sulli!
“Vicky unnie … Channie oppa?” he heard her say with a surprised look on her face.
“Sulli … you are here?” Victoria stood up smiling and embraced Sulli while Himchan still could not believe his eyes.
He was thinking about her not a minute ago and then she appeared in front of his eyes.
“Channie oppa? Seriously … “ Yongguk said in amused tone and earned himself a death glare from Himchan.
That was the first time Bang Yongguk heard a girl calling Himchan, Channie. The name was usually reserved for family and close friends, so the pretty girl not being both, must be somebody special to his band mate. Interesting!
“Sulli …” Himchan said standing up and started walking towards her; surprising his friends. He surprised them more by grabbing her hand and walking out of the kitchen.
The others were puzzled by their friend’s action, but Victoria was only smiling. Now, maybe Himchan can stop sulking and brooding all the time since he had met with his lady crush. It was difficult indeed to find Sulli and her mother but Vicky was lucky that by chance, one of her many contacts gave her a lead and here they were. Maybe she should change her profession from band manager to private investigator. Her smile became wider at the thought.
Noona, can only do this much, Channie. The rest will be up to you and fate.

Himchan took her for a walk on the beach near the pension. His hand was still holding Sulli’s. He didn’t want to let go and Sulli didn’t want to upset him by pulling away.
“Oppa …”
“Why have you disappeared without a trace
