Barely awake, you kept your eyes closed for the meantime, enjoying the  heavy warmth that sat on your lap, keeping you warm from the night. Wait-something heavy and warm? Last you remembered, all you brought out with you was your hood and well, you.

    Your eyes shot open as you looked down. A scream escaped you lips, as you found yourself trying to figure out what exactly happened after you fell asleep. Immediately you distanced yourself from the animal, at the same time trying to slow your fast heartbeat. A wolf-now wide awake, stared back at you with the equally as surprised expression you held on your face. It had dark brown and tannish fur that seemed to stand on end as you continued to stare into its matching brown eyes. Slightly frightened, you didn't know what to do in this situation, however your mouth worked faster than your brain,

"Who are you?"

'Stupid, ~~~! Animals can't talk, what were you thinking!?'

    Sure there had been strong rumors of beasts in the forest you lived practically next to, but you just brushed them off.  Having never really seen them in person, you found no reason to believe such silly gossip, and therefore dismissed any chance of ever meeting one. But now staring at it, you noticed there were no signs of aggression or threat from it.

    Before you could do anything else, it turned sprinting back into the forest. "Wait!" You called out watching it disappear through the brush. 

 

     Baekhyun cursed under his breath for getting caught. 'How did I oversleep?! Kris's gonna kill me' , he mentally groaned. When he heard your beautiful voice call him back, he paused for a moment before resisting the urge to run back into your arms. 'I can't afford to be any later' he thought scampering off.

 

     You went back into your house, still a little shaken up over what happened. Refilling your glass from last night, you took a long gulp downing the glass in one shot. 'Pull yourself together, ~~~! It won't be back anytime soon, so get to work already!' You scolded yourself. Finally, you were able to move and think again. After taking a bath, eating, and doing other necessities you began your day's work.

 

     Baekhyun arrived at Exo's current den, to meet an eyes with an unamused alpha. As soon as his presence was known throughout the  pack, all eyes turned to him.

"Where were you?" The alpha barked, his canines bared and black ears bent back. Staring at Baekhyun, the older waited for his reply.  With a confident tone  he lied ,

" Out hunting, I needed a snack. I'm sorry to worry you all, it won't happen again, Kris." 

    Kris frowned as if contemplating whether or not to accept his answer. Because the beta wasn't one to lie, unlike the pups*cough* Tao and Sehun *cough*, Kris reluctantly nodded. 'Baekhyun of all people..he's not usually so hungry, to the point of going out by himself to hunt at night. Even so, nowadays, he'd at least take Chanyeol with him' the alpha couldn't help but feel troubled over his brother's behavior. Letting the younger go, Kris turned abruptly and walked away. The rest of the pack went back to whatever they were doing; Baekhyun going into the sheltered cave part of their den went to lay down. The other Alpha looked worriedly from the distant look in Baekhyun's eyes to the retreating back of his other brother. Padding over to a black and white furred canine, he called softly to him,

"Luhan, I'll be gone for a bit. Take care of Exo while Kris and I are out, ok?"

   It wasn't a request, but  command, and said wolf with wide blue eyes, nodded obediently responding,

"Of course, Suho," 

    With that, the other alpha of the pack scurried off to catch up with his friend.
