Jongdae Doesn't Seem to be Very Lucky, Does He?

You're Taken?

Minseok’s and Mihyun’s clasped hands swung together as they walked up the stairs at the train station. A new weariness had come over Minseok ever since two weekends ago, a weariness that Mihyun luckily hadn’t seemed to pick up on, leaving Minseok worried. Very worried. He knew what Mihyun wanted when they got to her house, and he was terrified.

There were a few things Minseok had deduced about the last time they were alone together. One - they had had ; two -  he was very drunk when they had said ; three - Even though he was pissed, he still had the brains to use protection (he thanked every holy being for that); four - he had told her he loved her.

But there were still things that eluded him. Was he the one to initiate it all, or was it Mihyun? He figures it must have been the latter, because even though it was his birthday it wasn’t like he’d particularly wanted birthday , and he knew Mihyun got really confident when she was drunk. What worried him the most was the fact that whilst he remembered none of it, Mihyun remembered it all. She knew all the answers - but he would never have the guts to ask the questions. Hell, he didn’t even know if he loved Mihyun, and in his opinion that was enough for him to conclude that for now he was just attracted to her.

Sometimes though he found himself wondering why he liked her - like when he saw Jongdae. He often found himself thinking that maybe the sweet, innocent Mihyun that he had admired months ago was not the one that he was dating. She was different depending on who she was surrounded by, and Minseok couldn’t help but worry that the Mihyun she was showing him when they were alone was just some sort of mask - that the girl wasn’t actually as gentle as she had previously seemed to be.

Mihyun felt differently. Ever since Jongdae had waltzed into Minseok’s life, with his perfect jaw structure and killer smile, she had constantly been on edge. Minseok was hers, and she would kill puppies before she got dumped for him. But ever since two weekends ago, she had felt somewhat lighter. She still absolutely despised Jongdae, but Minseok wanted her and everything was relatively perfect. Or at least, that’s what she tried to tell herself.

They finally snapped out of their thoughts when they had to buy tickets, Mihyun never letting go of Minseok’s hand. Stepping through the gate, she caught something in the corner of her eyes, and attempted to steer Minseok away with a blind hope that he wouldn’t see.

However, he heard it before he saw it.

Hearing a yelp with an all too familiar twinge, his head whipped around to see a sight that was not in the slightest bit pretty. He stared, eyes widened with worry, “Mihyun babe, is that Jongdae?”

Mihyun had to stop herself from screaming in annoyance, because Minseok had seen and it wasn’t going to go unsolved. “No, it isn’t, oppa. Let’s just go, it’s scary and I don’t want to get involved with this.”

Minseok continued to stare, “ – this - Jongdae.” He attempted to run off, but Mihyun’s grip strengthened. Minseok glared at her, “! I’m not just going to stand here and do nothing. Let me go, and I’ll deal with this. I’d do this no matter who it was.”

Mihyun slowly released his hand, and Minseok ran “Be careful, oppa,” she said, clearly annoyed. She couldn’t care less about Jongdae, and she had made that quite clear. She and Minseok were on a date, and here he was ruining it.

. . .

Jongdae was terrified. Absolutely one hundred percent terrified.

He had just finished his work shift, and had peacefully been leaning against the wall waiting for his train home on the almost empty platform, when he had noticed someone staring at him a few meters away. They were at least 35, and the look they were giving him made him fidget and want to run - especially when they their lips and made their way towards him.

He instantly regretted putting his stuff on the floor, because by the time he had registered that he needed to pick it up and get the away it was far too late.

“Who are you?” the man asked, voice husky in what was an obvious attempt to sound y as he pushed him up against the wall so his hands were either side of Jongdae’s head. The man had an obvious height advantage, being at least 180cm tall, and this made Jongdae even more nervous. The man was also fairly muscular, and Jongdae knew that he had next to no chance saving himself here.

Yet he tried, pressing against the man’s stomach in an attempted to push him away. The man laughed in response before grabbing his wrists and pinning them up against the wall. Jongdae attempted to kick him where it would hurt, but the man had already foreseen this, and stood on his feet - not enough to really hurt him, but enough to stop him from getting away.

Jongdae yelped, “Get the off me,” he tried to growl, eyes watering and body wriggling in a failed attempt to get the man off him. He tried to scream but was muffled by the guy’s forearm.

“Oh no,” the man said, placing kisses on Jongdae’s neck. “What’s the fun in that?”

Jongdae squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for this moment to end. He know the man wouldn’t stop until he was pleased, and he just hoped that it would be soon. He felt a rough tongue trail from his collarbone up his neck and shivered in discomfort. He silently prayed that someone would come and save him but the last thing he’d seen of the train station was that it was pretty empty and most people there wouldn’t want to get involved. The tongue made its way up to his jaw, and all of a sudden he felt it in his ear. He was crying now, searching for the end. He felt like he had no energy left, no dignity left, and he dared not to open his eyes.

In an instant, Jongdae heard a loud crack and suddenly the tongue was gone. His eyes stayed squeezed shut and his body was frozen, scared that this was all some kind of joke. All of a sudden, he heard all too well-known yelling.

“Get the away before I call the cops, bastard!”

Jongdae’s eyes flung open, and helet out a breath that he didn’t realize he was holding when he saw Minseok’s face looking at him worriedly. His limbs failed, and he collapsed, familiar arms catching him.

Minseok’s arms wrapped around his back, and Jongdae gripped on to Minseok harder than he thought was possible, only now realizing how hard he was shaking. Minseok lightly rubbed his sleeves against the wet patches where that man’s mouth and tongue had been, as Jongdae sobbed into his shoulder, before he begun Jongdae’s hair, reassuring him that it was okay and that he was there.

Jongdae heard shuffling behind Minseok and instantly froze up. Minseok didn’t fail to notice.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine, he’s gone now, it’s just Mihyun,” he said, and he felt Jongdae loosen his grip. Knowing exactly why, he held Jongdae even closer, refusing to let go. Even though he knew it was nothing ual and that Minseok could get in some serious trouble, Jongdae was infinitely grateful - he had never felt so vulnerable and dirty in his life.

He heard Mihyun sigh, and knew exactly what she was thinking. But he couldn’t help but be selfish, not when he knew he couldn’t even stand on his own. He could feel her glare, and could sense her annoyance. To say the words Minseok said next surprised him would be an understatement to say the least.

“Mihyun baby, I’m sorry, but I’m gonna have to cancel tonight.”

Mihyun huffed, “But oppa-”

Minseok resisted the yell that was building up in his throat, not for care of his girlfriend but that it’d scare Jongdae too much. “I can’t leave him like this! I’m sorry but it’s a bit more important than your ual desires right now.” he spat, not caring in the slightest that Mihyun’s face had turned into an expression of pure hurt and rage.

“Fine!” she yelled, turning around and storming off, out of sight and for Minseok – out of mind.

“M-Minseok,” Jongdae whimpered between sobs, “You can go - I... I’ll be fine.”

Minseok rolled his eyes, “No you won’t, now let me look after you, okay?”

Jongdae managed to somewhat chuckle despite his state, before his laughs turned into tears. It was a side that he’d never really wanted to let Minseok see, but God be damned if Minseok blamed him for it.

Minseok held him even tighter, “Shh, shh, it’s okay, it’s fine. It’s over now, he’s gone, I’ve got you...” he whispered, as soothingly as he could.

“I couldn’t- I couldn’t- I couldn’t do anything, hyung. I didn’t know what he was going to do and I feel so dirty and I’m just-” Jongdae sobbed, until the point where Minseok couldn’t make out his words.

“Come on Jongdae,” Minseok said quietly, kissing the top of his head, “I’ll take you back to my house, okay?”

Jongdae nodded through his cries, and Minseok gestured for him to hop on his back. Jongdae did as he told, and wrapped his arms tightly around the older’s neck, still quietly sniffling into his shoulder. Minseok didn’t want Jongdae to catch the train in this state, and opted to catch a taxi instead. The driver gave Minseok an odd look, but asked no questions when he saw Jongdae’s face. Throughout the ride Minseok kept one arm securely wrapped around Jongdae’s waist and the other he used to hold Jongdae’s hand, tracing circles around the top with his thumb.

He thought it must have been funny how they looked like a couple - with Jongdae’s head nestled in the crook of his neck as he sniffled, and how he whispered reassuring words in his ear and kissed his forehead. He couldn’t care less, either.

. . .

Luhan was happily cleaning the kitchen when he heard the front door unlock. Huh, Sehun’s back early, he thought. He could have sworn he left to get supplied not 5 minutes earlier. Luhan smiled thinking about Sehun, and the reason that he was cleaning the kitchen in the first place. Freaking bastard. The couple had come to the conclusion that as good as it may have sounded, whipped cream did not make a very good lubricant. It just felt weird (it did however, make giving and receiving a even more enjoyable). As a result, Sehun had gone out to buy some actually lube and Luhan was left to clean up after they had cleaned themselves up. It was the kitchen, afterall.

He walked out the kitchen, tea-towel in hand, and he was faced with something that he didn’t expect to see. “Oh my god!” he shrieked when he saw a sniffling, puffy-faced Jongdae clutching on to Minseok’s hip. Minseok was clutching Jongdae’s, with just a slightly looser grip then the one on his own, and Luhan would have known he would have smiled at the sight, had Jongdae not been in that condition and had Minseok not looked so grim. “Are you alright? What happened?” he fretted, throwing the tea-towel in the kitchen and running up to the pair.

Minseok gave Luhan one of those looks, and sat down with Jongdae on the couch, with his arms still securely around him. Luhan followed and sat on the armchair, body forward and ears perked.

“Do you want to tell him? Do you want me to do it for you?” Minseok asked Jongdae quietly, and Luhan softly smiled. Minseok really was a whole different barrel of fish when he was being sweet and worried. Luhan couldn’t help but wonder if under everything, Jongdae was more to Minseok than he thought.

Jongdae mustered up a smile, “No, hyung. I’ll say,”

He gripped Minseok even tighter and his eyes started to well up again. “Well, I was at the train station and I-”

Jongdae’s voice cracked and he hung his head. He felt embarrassed; ashamed; weak. “It’s not even that much of a big deal. I’m sorry for making you both worry - I should go now.” He unwrapped his arms, and trembled as he tried to stand up.

Minseok pulled him back down. “You are not ing leaving in this state.”

“But Kris and Tao-”

“I’ll message them.”

“But-”

“No buts, Jongdae. I’m taking you home and I’m not letting you go until you’re alright and I’m not worried about you getting ually assaulted again.”

“What?” Luhan said, eyes widening in shock, “You’re kidding, aren’t you?”

Minseok shook his head, Jongdae looked down.

“, are you alright? How did that even happen?”

Minseok was about to answer, but Jongdae cut him off. “I was waiting for my train, and I saw this guy staring at me. He walked up to me and pushed me up against the wall. I tried to fight him but he was much taller than me and-” Jongdae was speeding up, “He pinned my arms up against the wall so I couldn’t move and he kissed my neck and me and I’d just given up-” Jongdae’s voice cracked. Minseok hugged him tighter Luhan leaned forward and wiped his face.

“Shh, Jongdae, it’s okay, it’s okay,” Luhan said soothingly, before looking at Minseok.

“You saved him?”

“I guess...” Minseok trailed off, “I saw this 40 year old abusing him, I wasn’t going to leave him there. You couldn’t leave anyone there.”

“You’re going to call the police, right? You know what he looks like?”

“I didn’t get much of a look,” Minseok started, “But I know sort of, and once Jongdae is feeling better, he’ll be able to describe him to them. He has a broken jaw too, which’ll help us.”

Luhan gaped. Minseok was usually always so gentle. To imagine him seriously beating someone up was a stark contrast to what Luhan was used to seeing, and especially what he was seeing right now.

“What?” Minseok asked, “He assaulted Jongdae. He’s lucky that’s the only injury he got.”

Luhan nodded, “Well I’m glad that Minseok was there to save you, Jonggie.”

Jongdae sniffed, biting his lip. “Me too,” he turned to Minseok, “But you blew off Mihyun - you didn’t have to do that...”

Minseok scoffed, “I’m sorry, but I wasn’t going to leave you in that position. She’s my girlfriend but you’re my friend and the fact that he expected me to go when you were going through that just makes me so pissed off. I can’t believe she expected me to do nothing.”

Jongdae’s lips slightly upturned. “...Thank you.”

Jongdae stood up, and before he could react Luhan was up and hugging him. Sehun also chose this moment to walk through the door after his quick trip to get supplies. His eyes widened as he noticed Jongdae and Minseok. He was looking forward to more alone time with Luhan, and it didn’t look like it was going to happen. “What did I miss?” he asked, voice ridden with concern as he noticed Jongdae’s slouch and red face.

Luhan sighed. “Later.” he said, before cupping Jongdae’s face, earning a glare from Sehun. “If that ever happens to you again, I’ll punch them in the face and put them in a box. And it won’t be pretty or decorated it’ll be old and I’ll only put in a few air holes and then I’ll put it on a quiet rode and they will have a slow and painful death because they won’t get run over all that much but they will still die because they got run over.”

Jongdae laughed - a real laugh for the first time since the incident. Silly Luhan, coming up with such things. He had really grown to love Luhan like a brother he’d never had. He hadn’t known him for long, but Luhan was a person that he could and would tell absolutely everything to. If Luhan told Minseok about their conversations, he’d be one hundred percent screwed.

“Thanks, Lulu,” he cooed, pinching Luhan’s nose. Now it was his turn to be glared at.

Luhan smiled back, it was nice to see Jongdae looking a bit chirpier, even though he was still clearly shaken by the days previous events.

“Anyway, I should probably go-”

Minseok interrupted, “No, you’re staying here.”

“But Tao and-”

“Luhan will message them. They’re probably banging anyway, don’t want to walk in on that, remember?”

Jongdae sighed, it was probably true. “Okay, but - can I have a shower? I feel,” he paused, “Dirty.”

Minseok nodded, “Of course, I’ll grab you some clothes.”

He grabbed a towel and made his way to the bathroom, before stripping off and turning the water on as hot as he could handle without cooking. Emerging a few minutes later, he found that Minseok had left the clothes just outside the door, and had given him his bunny flannelette pyjamas. Jongdae found himself smiling, because he knew that those were his special ones. He walked back out to the lounge room, and found the other three boys talking. He figured by the look on Sehun’s face that they had just finished telling him what had happened.

Minseok stood up, and walked over to Jongdae, cooing over how cute he looked. When he went to pinch his cheeks his hand was swatted away, and Jongdae looked at him seriously. “So uh, do you want to sleep in the spare room, or in my room? I don’t mind.”

Jongdae shook his head, “Oh, the spare room is fine.” In all honesty, he didn’t know if he’d be okay, but he didn’t want to be more of a bother.

“Okay,” Minseok said, smiling. “It’s always set up, so go for it whenever,”

“Thanks, I think I’ll go now. I just kind of want this day to be over.”

Minseok nodded, and ruffled his currently wet hair. “Well I’ll see you tomorrow then. If you need anything, you know where I am.”

Jongdae smiled. “Thanks, see you tomorrow,” he said, before walking to the spare room.

“... So I’m guessing this means we won’t get to use that lube?”

“...Shut up Sehun.”

Jongdae laughed as he opened the door, hearing the tell-tale sound of a slap. Stepping in to the dark room and shutting the door, he felt much more alone. He looked at the clock, and saw it was only nine at night, and crawled into the bed, willing himself to fall asleep fast.

That didn’t happen, and he found that he was still well awake three hours later. All he could do was replay what happened in his head, and it wasn’t doing anything for him except make him feel worse. Before he had known he had started shaking and sleep was the farthest thing from possible. Deciding to see if anyone was still awake to calm his mind, he got out of bed and walked into the lounge-room. There he saw Sehun and Luhan cuddled up on the couch, some stupid drama running that the two seemed to have an obsession with. They were both asleep, however, and Jongdae stopped to think how awfully cute it was, but found positive thoughts hard to find as he remembered why he couldn’t sleep.  Sneaking past as quickly as he could, he went to see if Minseok was still awake in his room. He opened the door, and found that he was in fact, in bed. His heart sunk when he realized his fate, beginning to shut the door until a voice called out.

“Jongdae?”

Jongdae sniffed, and Minseok sat up. He could see Jongdae was shaking.

“I’m sorry- I just couldn’t sleep and I wanted to see if you were awake but you weren’t and I’ll just go back-”

“Jongdae.”

“What?”

“It’s okay to be scared. It’s okay to not want to be alone. Don’t be ashamed or feel weak.”

Jongdae felt a tear drop down his face. “Can I... Can I sleep in your bed?”

“Of course,” Minseok said gently, moving over to make room as Jongdae walked over to his bed. Jongdae laid down, and Minseok wrapped his arms around the younger’s body. He continued to cry, and Minseok held him, whispering comforting words in his ear to make him feel better.

Everything about Minseok made him feel safe, and he found himself falling asleep with ease. The last thing he remembered was the feeling of Minseok’s soft lips against his forehead, and a whisper of I’m here for you.

. . .

It was 10am, and Minseok was rudely awakened by the sound of his door slamming. Slowly opening his eyes, he unwrapped his arms from Jongdae’s waist and climbed out of bed to see who made the noise. If this was Luhan’s way of waking him, he was going to die - especially with the state Jongdae was in last.

It turns out that Luhan was just as surprised as Minseok, and both he and Sehun were sitting on the couch, eyes wide, but glazed over with sleep.

“If that was ing you Minseok-”

“I was about to ask you the same question,”

Luhan shrugged, before pulling Sehun into his room. “Must have been the wind, back to sleep.” Sehun smirked. Luhan hit him. “We. Have. Guests. ‘Hunnie.”

Sehun grumbled something along the lines of that never stopping them before, and Luhan pushed him on to the bed, saying yes to a as long as he was quiet.

Minseok crawled back into bed, and was surprised to find that Jongdae had managed to sleep through the whole thing. He was pretty shaken though, so there were no ways he couldn’t blame him. He wrapped his arms around him again, Jongdae automatically and unconsciously snuggling into Minseok’s warmth. Completely forgetting that the door had just slammed for no apparent reason, he fell into slumber almost instantly.

His girlfriend, who was currently making her way to a place she had been asked to visit all too often, was not pleased.
