Chapter 50
Only One Day
Chapter 9
"Yoo Jin ah what are you doing here? You need to perform soon."
Xin heaved a sigh of relief as she found the little girl who had gone
missing just before a performance.
"Seonsaengnim! Oppa finally came to visit!"
"You'll get to see him again later ok? Pali pali the rest are waiting"
Her attention had been totally on the girl and she gasped as she looked
up and caught sight of the person standing right in front of her.
He was smiling and bowed slightly as their gaze met.
"How have you been?"
"Fine... I'm sorry I've to go..."
"Xin ah, can we have a meal some day?"
It had been several months since Xin left home and Jungmin was
pleasantly surprised to meet her. Ahead of his plans.
He had been making visits to the orphanage she was working at
during the weekends when she wasn't around.
"I..."
"Seonsaengnim not coming tomorrow"
"Really? Arasso"
"Mwoh? Yah Yoo Jin get moving"
Xin said as she dragged the little girl along to the stage. What was he doing here?
She made her way back into the event hall again and reminded herself
to focus on getting the show done well.
The orphanage had just moved into its new premise provided by an anonymous
donor, and the children had prepared a show in appreciation for its official opening.
Jungmin adjusted his tie as he prepared to make his way out into the hall.
Today was the day he'd appear in her life again after these months.
And he wasn't going to let go of any chance to win her back.
"Let's welcome Mr Park Jung Min. Mr Park has also established the Park Shin Il
Scholarship to assist the less privileged children..."
"Jungmin ah... what are you trying to do..."
Xin muttered to herself as she heard the emcee introduce him to the
audience as the mysterious donor.
"Today happens to be the first anniversary of my son who unfortunately
couldn't make it into this world... because of a decision i made"
Fighting to hold back her tears as Jungmin continued with his speech, she was
about to leave the hall when she heard him calling out to her and she felt the
gaze of everyone on her.
"Xin, I'm sorry I haven't been a good husband and dad.
Will you give me a chance to make up for everything?"
"Otokke..."
Mumbling to herself yet again, she began walking as fast as her legs
could take her, out of the hall.
"Guess I'll have to work harder then.
Yoo Jin ah, you'll help me with seonsaengnim right?"
Jungmin smiled and winked at the little girl, managing bring in laughter from the
crowd which had otherwise turned silent.
Behind that smile, he couldn't help but feel disappointed even though he had
expected the reaction from her.
Taking his leave after the speech, Jungmin was walking around the premises
aimlessly until he caught sight of a lone figure sitting by playground.
The sound of sobbing could be heard as he neared her and he stood behind,
pondering over how should he approach her without making her run away again.
She must have felt his presence almost immediately as she stood up and
attempted to leave.
"Don't go, please... I missed you..."
