Chapter 6

Kyu Jong made his way to Krystel’s room and found her staring blankly into 
space, totally engrossed in her own thoughts. Taking a seat beside her on the 
bed, he rested his head on her shoulders and pinched her cheeks slightly.

“Are you mad at me?”

“Anni…”

“Mianhae…”

He said as he recalled the incident which happened earlier. Yoora had turned up at their 
place crying after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was trying to console her when 
she suddenly hugged him tightly and requested for him to return to her side. 

At a loss over what to do, he held on to her, only to find Krystel making her way
out of the kitchen back into her room. He wasn’t sure how much of the conversation 
did she overhear, but the very fact that he couldn’t bring himself to reject Yoora made 
him feel remorseful.

“Wae? Did you do something else behind my back?”

“Aniyo… it‘s just that Yoora… she…”

“I know. I‘m not upset over it…”

“Really?”

“De. Oppa, she needs someone by her side now…”

“Stel…”

“It‘s not like you to ignore someone in need of help, right? 
And it‘ll only be for a few months until she gets better…”

“But what if she gets the wrong idea?”

“I trust that you know what you’re doing. 
Yah… nothing more than a hug arasso? Or I won‘t talk to you again”

“De…”

“I want ice cream”

“At this hour?! Ah alright… let‘s go now”

Feeling relieved and thankful for her understanding, he gave her a peck on 
her cheek and pulled her off the bed to head off to the ice cream parlour. 

But if only things were really going to be as simple as they seemed to be…
