Chapter 51

Only One Day

Chapter 10

"Unnie mianhae... I really have to stay behind and rework on that project"

"Oh... it's alright then Jojo. Remember don't overwork yourself"

"De! Have fun!"

Xin made her way to the checkin counter after hanging up and found Jungmin
already waiting there. They were going on a vacation and Joelle was unable to
make it due to urgent work commitments.

"You what? How can you lose something as important as your passport now?!
Ah arasso... I'll have fun even without you"

Jungmin ended his conversation with Hyun Joong over the phone and found
Xin standing next to him with a puzzled expression.

"You're here... Hyun Joong won't be coming with us.
That guy only realised he lost his passport this morning"

"Jojo was called back to office this morning..."

"Aish... these two..."

He looked at Xin, who could only give him a smile after finally realising what was going on.

---

"Do you think it'll work? I think Unnie will murder me when she's back"

"Pabo. They'll have to thank us for that"

"I hope so... Min oppa has been trying real hard"

Hyun Joong was tired of hearing Jungmin sigh as he talked about how they were
advancing. They had been seeing each other, as Xin insisted, just as friends, for
the past few months or so and he decided they had to give them a little push.
With everything planned, the rest would now be up to them.

---

"Are you sure you don't need any help?"

Xin asked as Jungmin spent a little more time than required in the kitchen preparing their dinner.

"Anni... I'll be ready in a bit. Go have some rest first"

There was nothing much they could do but to relax and make use of whatever
was available after being practically stranded. They were put on a seaplane upon
arriving in Maldives and brought to a villa in the middle of the sea.

It wasn't too bad though, for there was a infinity pool with suntan beds, a patio
where they could watch the sun, fully equipped living room with the best
entertainment systems, of course a fully equipped kitchen where they could cook
their meals. They were even signed up for a snorkeling class the next day.

"Any improvements in my culinary skills?"

Jungmin asked eagerly as they tucked into their dinner.
Apart from keeping himself busy with work and helping at the orphanage during
weekends, he had been brushing up on his culinary skills, with the hopes of making
a perfect dinner for Xin some time soon. And he was thankful that Hyun Joong had
planned this trip for the both of them.

"De... you've been stealing skills from the chef have you..."

"I'll do anything, as long as you like it"

Xin smiled upon hearing his words.
There was no denying that she had fallen for him again since that night. Or
rather she had never stopped loving him, even though she tried running away.

Flashback

"I know it has been difficult on you. I'm sorry I never thought of how much my
actions could hurt you before. But I promise it'll never happen again. I'll make
up for everything, for all the time we lost. Can we start all over again?"

"Jungmin ah..."

"Annyeonghaseyo, nice to meet you. I'm Park Jung Min"

End of Flashback

"What are you thinking about?"

Her thoughts were interrupted by his call to her. After handing a glass of red wine to
Xin, he took a seat beside her, out in the patio facing the sea under the moonlight.

"Nothing much... it's so peaceful here"

He looked at her as she stared into the night sky, pondering over whether it was
the right time to bring up the question again. The question about their future
together. He didn't want to force her to make a decision until she was ready.

"Xin...how long more are you going to make me wait?"

"..."

"Arasso... I won't force you..."

His eyes widened when he felt a quick peck on his cheeks and he turned around
and found Xin looking out into the sea, with a smile spread on her face. He
carefully removed a little box from his pocket after a hug and knelt down beside her.

"Will you return to my side again... and marry me?"

She looked at him, visibly surprised to see him kneeling with a ring in his hand so suddenly.

"You had this planned didn't you?"

"Anni! I swear I didn't! I always kept this with me..."

"But..."

Getting hold of Xin's hand before she could speak any further,
Jungmin swiftly slipped the ring back onto her finger again.

"I won't take no for an answer"
