Chapter 7

Xin awoke to the unfamiliar surroundings of the hospital room and found Jungmin
asleep beside her, with his hands over hers. His arms and foreheads were bandaged,
which prompted her to recall what exactly happened and what was she doing in the hospital.

“Oppa watch out!”
End of Flashback

Her worst fears were confirmed as she reached out her hand towards her tummy, which 
was now missing the growing bulge. The baby that was growing inside of her was gone.

“No…”

Jungmin was awoken by the sound of wailing and found Xin crying uncontrollably.

“No… my baby…”

“Xin ah…”

“Baby…I want my boy back… where is he Oppa? Where‘s our boy?”

“Mianhae… I really couldn‘t afford to lose you…”

“No… tell me he isn‘t gone…”

Holding on to Xin as she attempted to get off the bed, Jungmin hugged her tight and 
his tears began flowing as he held on to her. He would have done anything to keep 
the both of them, but given the situation there was no doubt he’d choose her over the 
baby, and he felt helpless for not being able to do anything to relieve her pain.

Staring blankly into the walls as she woke up again after falling asleep, Xin eyes 
welled up with tears as she engrossed herself in her thoughts once again. Her baby 
was gone, along with her hopes of having a family with him. Just as she was 
beginning to feel really loved. She even had this crazy idea he would leave his 
girlfriend for good, for the sake of her and the baby. 
And that the divorce wouldn’t happen after the year was up.

“Maybe it all just wasn‘t meant to be…”

A month had passed since the accident and they were both fully recovered. 
Jungmin was back at work and still spending as much time as he could with Xin. 
He was finishing up some work when Xin entered with a glass of his favourite 
carrot juice and placed it on the desk, along with a folder.

“Oppa… please sign this…”

“Bwoh?”

“It‘s almost time for you to return to your girlfriend. I‘ll be fine”

“What are you talking about?”

“You’ve already done your part. You don’t have to feel responsible towards me any more…”
