Chapter 33. In Their Own Personal Den
The Lion meets the Lioness
Chapter 33
Melody’s head rested against Leo’s chest and she listened to his heartbeat as it slowed down from the frantic beating to its normal rhythm. His large hand rested gently on the curve of her bare hip from where her shirt had ridden up and her right leg was intertwined with his long ones. His other hand her long hair while she trailed her fingers up and down his bare chest. Her body still trembled with desire and though she did not regret her decision to stop them from doing something he might regret later, there was nothing on this Earth that would make her leave him and this bed at this moment.
“Are you comfortable noona?” The quiet words had her lifting her head to look up at him as she lightly brushed her lips against his.
“Ne.” she said softly, her hand coming up to caress his jaw her fingers soft and tender against his skin. She inhaled deeply his scent filling her senses. “I don’t want tonight to end.” A shiver caught her unawares as the chill from the air conditioner finally seeped into her cooling skin. Her heart stuttered lightly as Leo reached down to draw the blanket up over her before replacing his hand back on her hip.
“When we planned this trip I was so excited to see y’all in concert and for the girls to debut. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever meet you, let alone that anything like this would happen. This has been a trip I will never forget” Melody shifted slightly, her leg sliding against his, her voice sad.
“You talk like after this we will no longer speak?” There was an odd catch to his voice and she looked up at him to see him staring at her.
“Leo…you know as well as I do that it is pretty much impossible.” There was an ache in her heart and she could feel the burning in her eyes are tears threatened. Refusing to let them fall she captured his face between her hands. “Let’s not think about that now. For now, let’s just be together.” The night was still early and she wanted to make the most of their time together, filling it will memories to get her through living without him. Lowering her teeth nibbled lightly against his lips and as his arms wrapped around her tightly she smiled.
N poured another drink and looked at his watch to see the time. It was already almost 1am and Melody and Leo still had not returned. The other kids were all involved in the movie and he leaned against the counter watching them as he sent Leo a text.
The response he received was curt but he wasn’t surprised. He was however surprised to learn that they had the wrong key card and could not get in. He checked the card on the table to see it was for his room and at that moment it dawned on him where they were. N swirled the flavored water in his cup waiting for a reply from the message he had sent. It wasn’t long in coming and he wondered just how mad Leo was at him at this moment.
Leo felt Melody stir against him when N’s second text came through. She had fallen asleep on his chest not too long before and he had not wanted to disturb her just yet. Quickly sending the message he looked down to see her lashes fluttering as she slowly awoke. Barely moving her head she looked at him through eyes that were mostly closed and asked softly if everything was okay.
He nodded, “It was N asking when we would be coming back. He said the kids are still watching movies and that he would listen for us to let us in once I told him we didn’t have the right key with us.”
Melody drew the sheet up further, clenching it in her small fist. She tramped down the feelings of resentment towards having to leave their own little world and having to return to reality. She had learned the hard way that being angry accomplished nothing and had the lesson had taught her to treasure each moment for what it was.
“I suppose we really should be heading back. You’re not going to get much sleep before you leave.”
“I’m not worried about me noona, I can sleep on the plane. I’m more worried about you being tired when you are driving.”
She smiled as she kissed his chest, the concern in his voice giving her a warm glow in her belly. “I’ll be fine Leo, and the girls and I can take turns driving if we need too.”
He nodded still looking slightly worried and she pushed herself up to lean on her elbow, her hair cascading down to lightly tickle his chest. “I’ll make you a deal. You message me when you arrive safely this way we both know we’re each okay.”
The pinched look on his brow smoothed right out as he readily agreed before reaching up to draw her back down on to him. “I told N we would be another twenty minutes.”
Melody’s dimple flashed as she realized just how much she liked how his mind worked…
