Chapter 30

Melody alternated pushing Yhinny and Summer on the swing set while Trina played on the monkey bars her legs scrunched up as high as she could since she was tall. They were singing A Pink’s “Wish List” while they waited for the guys to join up with them.

Earlier when they had been leaving the restaurant they had walked into a crowd of fan girls who had somehow found out where they were. Thankfully the 4D members had been walking out first alone since they were going to run across the street to a little boutique they had seen while the guys finished eating.

Melody had sent Leo a message to warn him of the fans outside and they had agreed to meet up at the park in a couple hours so they could do some shopping while the guys tried to slip out unnoticed.

She rubbed her shoulder where one fan girl had accidentally slammed into her and almost knocked her over. It ached slightly but she had already taken some aspirin and was waiting for it to kick in.

“Unni let’s dance?” Yhinny said as she slowed her swing and looked behind her to Melody hopefully.

The others nodded and they decided on A Pink’s “Hush”. The members were all huge fans of the groups from Cube Entertainment and dreamed of one day auditioning for them or to be JellyFish Entertainment’s first girl group.

Afterwards they sat on the ground breathing heavily and chugging water. Melody inhaled deeply and it was then she noticed a familiar scent. Turning she saw Leo standing on a few feet from her watching her with an odd expression. The other members of VIXX came up and sat down with the rest while Leo kept staring at her. Self-consciously she looked down to make sure nothing had come undone or was ped. Asking him if everything was okay he seemed to give himself a shake and nodded.

Melody sat on one of the swings next to Trina and grinned as she saw Ken naturally go behind her and start pushing her. Someone grabbed the chains of her swing and pulled her back and she twisted her head to see N grinning at her mischievously.

Her eyes wide she turned forward quickly and held tightly to the swing as he gave a mighty shove and sent her soaring upwards. An unbidden squeak escaped from and she heard his evil little laugh coming from behind her. Coming back she expected another shove but instead the swing gave a little jerk as it was caught and slowed. Opening her eyes which had closed tightly in fear she saw N standing off to the side with a small smile. She raised her eyes to look at the hands which held the swing and recognized Leo’s large hands. The swing was drawn back again but let go with a gentle push and she squealed softly in delight. With Leo’s hand lightly pressing her back to keep her going forward she and the others discussed what they wanted to do that night.

After the incident earlier at the restaurant it was agreed hanging in the hotel rooms together might be a better option than being out in public.

“We can watch a movie or something on Unni’s laptop.” Summer volunteered.

“What about food?” Hyuk asked making everyone laugh.

Melody shook her head while she laughed with the others. The maknae had a one track mind…although looking at the other men she realized they all were just as concerned about food as he was. They tossed out ideas for what would be easy to get to bring back to the room and finally decided the girls and N would go get subs and Hongbin, Ravi, and Hyuk were going to get drinks, chips, popcorn, and other goodies.

Hongbin looked at Leo curiously, “What about you and Ken hyung?”

Melody tipped her head to the side her interest piqued as she twisted the swing to look at Leo. He and Ken exchanged glances and shrugged saying they had an errand to run.

Eagerly the groups split up to hurry and accomplish their errands so they could relax and enjoy the rest of the evening together.

The sun was starting to set as the girls detoured and amidst his protests dragged N into a shop that had cute accessories in the window.

While N frowned and tapped at his bare wrist as if he was wearing a watch Melody stuck a headband with bunny ears on his head and kissed his cheek. “Just a few more minutes and then we will leave. Promise!” She winked as she tipped her head to one side and cocked her finger at him.

N stared after her as she disappeared behind a rack and put his hand up to his cheek. With a sigh he shook his head and leaned against the counter thinking he would be there forever. Surprisingly enough the 4D members finished and were hustling him back outside within five minutes.

He couldn’t help but feel like he was being swept along with a current as the girls moved swiftly down the street and into the sub shop…
