After Kris had told Suho about what he had found he went straight to look for Reena. She was coming from the waterfall when she bumped into him. “Oh!” She exclaimed but said no more. For some reason, it was awkward.

Kris cleared his throat and took her hand. “Come to the surface with me.”

She nodded and let him lead her out. Reena looked at their hands and frowned. Something’s off.

When the two made it out he immediately picked her up and started flying. She hugged him tightly and stared at his face.

He had a light in his eye and seemed excited about something. Kris’ hair was flying all around and she admired his handsome features.

She shook her head. What am I doing still thinking about Himchan when a man who loves me is right here? Holding me?

Reena softened and kissed his cheek. He blinked a few times and slowed down. Eventually, he was just floating. He slowly looked down at her in his arms and smiled.

“I’ve missed you.” She honestly spoke.

Kris’ smile widened. “I’ve been waiting a long time for you to return.” He looked away.

“Hey.” She cupped his face and made him look at her. Reena half-smiled at him. She her lips and dropped her hands. “What have you been doing all this time?”

His eyes darkened. “Nothing.”

Reena raised an eyebrow. “Nothing? For over 1,000 years…nothing?”

He nodded, not meeting her eyes.

“Why are you lying to me?” She softly asked.

He in a breath and looked down at her out of the side of his eyes. “It’s just that…” He shook his head. “Don’t worry about it.”

Reena sighed and looked down. What are you hiding from me?

Kris panicked and tried to change the topic. “Come on. There’s a place I want to take you.” Reena nodded and Kris continued to fly.

It was silent for awhile until Kris finally landed on the ground. When her feet firmly hit the ground she looked up and her eyes widened. Sure, it wasn’t to pretty but it was just amazing to look at it.

“What is this place?”

“The humans called it the grand canyon.”

“Wow.” Reena placed her hands together and pressed them against her lips. “It’s amazing.”

Kris nodded. “The planet EXO-M was on looked a lot like this. Except sandier.” He chuckled.

“Can we go down there?” She pointed to the bottom.

Kris picked her back up and flew down. “We have to be careful though, I’m not what creatures live here.” He reminded.

“That’s why I have you though, right?” She laughed. “You’ll protect me.” Reena swung her arms around and twirled.

Kris quickly caught her and twirled her towards him. She crashed against his chest and widened her eyes. How long had it been since she was this close to him? Kris titled her face up, “I will protect you.”

She couldn’t swallow and felt the heat in her face.

Kris smirked. “There is something I wanted to know though…Why did you do it?”

Reena furrowed her eyebrows. “Do what?”

“Leave me.”

Reena caught her breath and quickly looked down. “It’s not that I chose to leave you just that…there wasn’t any other option.”

“Explain to me…please.” He begged. She looked up and saw the hurt and pain in his eyes. He really did miss her.
