"Here's the key." Taeyeon puts down her room keys on the reception desk.

She surrendered the duplicate key of their room to the landlady of the dormitory.

The landlady was looking at Taeyeon.

"We will miss you here." she said.

Taeng smiled. "I don't know when I will come back but I know I'm going to visit this place again."

"Is that a promise, unnie?" Suzy asked. She was behind Taeyeon.

"Promise." Taeng lets out her dorky grin.

Suzy began to pout again. "I'll really miss you, unnie.."

 

Taeyeon pulled up the handle of her luggage. 

 

"I'm going now." Taeng said. "Goodbye."

"Goodbye, unnie." Suzy sniffed.

Taengoo taps Suzy's head then turned to their landlady and bowed.

"Goodbye and take care." the landlady smiled. "I hope to see you again."

Taeyeon walked out of the front door. She looked up into the sky and took a deep sigh.

"I have to say goodbye to Sooyoung and Sunny and then, Yuri then...." her thoughts were interrupted when her cellphone rang.

 

*brrrt brrt*

 

Taeyeon answered her phone. It was her brother.

 

"Nae, Oppa?"

"Have you left your dorm already?"

Taeng looked back at the building behind her. "Yeah."

"Good. I'll just submit my resignation letter to the cake shop. Appa will meet us at the bus stop at 5pm. We should be in the airport before 9pm."

"Okay, got it."

"Alright, see ya later~"

 

Taeyeon puts back her handphone on her pocket.

She looked at the time on her wrist watch. It was 2pm.

"There's still plenty of time..." she thought.

Taeng started walking again.

 

 

She was on her way to her former dorm, KSY ladies dormitory.

 

 

 

 

*  *  *  *

 

 

 

Sooyoung and Sunny were waiting for her outside their dormitory.

"Taeyeon-ah!!!" Sunny called out.

"Omooo. You're not kidding. You're really leaving!" Sooyoung saw Taengoo's luggage. She began to weep like a child.

"Aishhh. Stop acting like a kid."

"I'm still young!" Sooyoung snorted.

"You're too tall for a kid."

Sooyoung looked at her for a moment. "I'm going to miss you Taeyeon."

"Me too." Sunny agreed.

Taeyeon spread out her arms. "Why don't you give me a big hug before I leave?"

"WAAAAHHH Taengoooo-ahh!"

 

The three made a group hug. Sooyoung was crying like a kid while Sunny was acting cool, holding back her tears.

 

"Yahh it's not like I'm not going back here again!" Taeng said. "We could still chat through our e-mails!"

Sooyoung was sneezing on a tissue. "Don't forget to bring ramen and chocolates when you get back, okay?"

They all laughed together.

"You really are the one and only shikshin." Taengoo grinned.

"By the way, there's another person here who wants to see you before you leave." Sunny told her.

"Who?" Taeyeon looked around. She saw Yuri.

 

"Hey Taeyeon." Yul greeted.

Sooyoung and Sunny went behind them to leave them alone for a while.

Taengoo went to Yuri.

"Looks like you're ready to go." Yuri said, looking at her luggage.

"Yeah."

"..Can I still stop you from leaving?"

Taeyeon was stunned for a moment. "W-Well.."

"I'm just kidding." Yuri smiled. "I know I can't stop you. There's only one person who can do that."

"What do you mean?"

"I know you know what I'm talking about." Yuri said then she looked at their dormitory building.

Taeyeon gulped. She knew who she was talking about.

 

A familiar voice suddenly called out.

 

"Yahh!! Kim Taeyeon!" It was Jessica. She was approaching them.

"Jung Jessica?" Taeng murmured.

"Why didn't you told me you were leaving, you little kid?!" Jessica snorted.

"Well, atleast now you know~" Taeng laughed.

"There's still someone here who doesn't know you're leaving."

The smile faded on Taeyeon's face.

 

Jessica moved closer. "She's on the 3rd floor, right?"

Tiffany was reading a book inside her room when someone knocked on the door.

 

*knock knock*

 

Fany looked up. "Who is it?"

"Your beautiful bestfriend."

"What do you want, Jessica?"

"Someone wants to see you."

Tiffany gets up from her bed and opened the door. "Who?"

"This person is waiting for you at the garden."

"My parents?"

"Nope."

Fany hesitated. "Siwon?"

"Aisshhh." Sica snorted. "Just go downstairs, okay?"

Jessica turned and left.

 

Tiffany was left there, thinking.

Tiffany went out of the lobby and walked into the garden.

"Is it Siwon?" she thought to herself. "But I thought he....."

 

"Fany-ah."

 

Tiffany heard the familiar voice.

She knew who it was. She can't be wrong.

Fany stayed still on her position and didn't turned around.

 

Taeyeon took a deep sigh.

"I know you're still mad at me. But..I just want to say goodbye to you before I leave."

 

Fany didn't say anything. She just remained on her position.

"I-It's alright if you don't want to face me." Taeng said. "I just want you to listen to what I say."

Tiffany was surprised when she heard that Taeyeon was leaving.

She wanted to ask where she's going, why is she leaving and a lot more of questions, but she can't.

"Go on." that was all Fany said.

 

Taeyeon paused for a moment, thinking where to start.

 

"I'm going to Japan." Taeng started. "My brother was offered a job there by my uncle and we might stay there for good.."

Fany was listening to her in silence.

"I don't know if we will still see each other again." Taeyeon continued.

Tiffany felt her chest went heavy. Just the thought of not seeing Taeyeon again made her feel lonely and hurt.

 

"I realized I made a big mistake." Taeyeon was trying hard to keep her voice steady. "Sorry if I was afraid."

 

 

Tiffany finally turned around to look at Taeyeon. She noticed that Taeyeon's eyes were teary. It was obvious that Taeng was just holding back her tears.

Fany still didn't say anything.

 

"I don't know why but I feel hurt whenever I see you with someone else. That's the truth." Taeyeon said honestly. "But what can I do? It's too late, right?"

Taeng managed to laugh with her teary eyes.

Tiffany was avoiding eye contact with Taeyeon. At this moment, she wanted to hug Taeyeon very tight and tell her how much she misses her. But her pride won't let her do that.

Taeyeon moved a step closer to Tiffany. Their eyes finally met.

 

"...If we ever meet again, I hope you will still remember me." Taeyeon said.

Taeyeon looked into Tiffany's eyes again for the last time. When she can't hold back her tears anymore, she turned her back and left.

 

When Taeyeon was gone, Tiffany's tears went down.

 [That evening . . .]

 

 

 

Tiffany was in her room. 

Until now, she can't stop thinking about Kim Taeyeon.

 

"I don't know if we will still see each other again." those words kept on flashing back in her head.

 

"Everything will be fine. I will still see her again....someday." Tiffany thought to herself. She wanted to calm down but it doesn't work.

Whenever Tiffany thought of not seeing Taeyeon again, her heart hurts.

Tiffany tried to imagine herself meeting Taeyeon again after 10 years. An image of Taeyeon with another girl appeared on her head.

Fany shook off her thoughts.

She began walking back and forth around the room and then sit on her bed and do the same thing all over again.

All she wants now is to see Taeyeon.

 

Tiffany went out of her room and goes to Sooyoung and Jessica's room.

Without knocking, Fany opened the door widely and barged in.

Jessica was sitting on her bed, filing her nails. She looked up as Tiffany entered.

 

 

"What time is Taeyeon's flight?"

(Meanwhile, at Incheon Airport . .)

 

 

"It's almost 7 o'clock." Heechul said as he looked at his wrist watch.

"We should go inside now." Mr. Kim said, looking at the entrance.

Taeyeon turned to her friends, Sooyoung and Sunny.

"You heard that. We're going inside." Taeng told them.

Sooyoung and Sunny pouted. "Bye bye, Taengoo."

They did another group hug.

"Don't forget to e-mail us when you get there, okay?" Sunny said.

"Alright." Taeng smiled.

Heechul and Mr. Kim began carrying their luggages.

Taeyeon pulled up her luggage and waved goodbye to her friends.

 

Sooyoung and Sunny watched them as they enter the airport.

"I wish we had a gate pass so we can enter there too and watch them leave." Sooyoung pouted.

"Yeah." Sunny agreed. "We should've thought of that earlier."

Sooyoung paused for a moment to hesitate. "Yahh?"

"Mm?" Sunny turned to her.

"I thought your aunt works here?!"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 .    .    .    .

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tiffany was almost running. She went out of the station as fast as she could.

Even though she took an express train to the airport, she still feels like her travel was slow.

When she got into the airport she stopped.

The first thing that came into her mind was 'Why did she come here?'.

Tiffany shook her head.

 

"Choose what makes you happy today or die in sadness tomorrow. It's your choice."  Fany remembered what Minho told her.

 

"I need to see her." she thought. Tiffany started walking again.

Voices were flashing back on her head as she walks inside the airport.

 

". . .I heard her flight is 9pm . . Swallow your pride, Tiffany . . Listen to your heart." 

 

   "We both know you just took me for granted . . I know you're just doing this to take revenge on Kim Taeyeon . . ."

 

". . Sorry if I was afraid . . . I made a big mistake . . . "

 

        "I don't know why but I feel hurt whenever I see you with someone else. That's the truth . ."

 

 " . . Whatever happens, don't leave me, ok? . . . . we're in this together . . ."

 

 

"You can't leave, Kim Taeyeon. You can't." Tiffany said to herself.

 

 

A man suddenly blocked her way.

 

 

"May I see your boarding pass?"

"I don't have——"

"Only passengers can enter here."

"This is important." Fany said seriously.

"Sorry. You can't go through."

"Listen, mister. I'm going to pay you any amount you want. Just let me pass through."

"Sorry, miss." The man started to ignore her and assisted the other passengers.

 

Tiffany was getting desperate. It was amost 9 pm.

She was thinking of another way but she can't. She feels like she's going to go crazy.

"There must be another way." Fany thought desperately. "I can't lose you.."

Tiffany looked at time again. It was 8:58 PM.

She felt the panic rising in her.

Tiffany looked around the airport, hoping to see Taeyeon, but there was no sign of her.

Her eyes were starting to get teary.

 

 

 

"Mwoooo. Tiffany-ah?" Sooyoung and Sunny suddenly appeared.

 

 

 

Tiffany quickly turned around.

She was bewildered when she saw them inside the security checkpoint. She wanted to ask "How did you get inside?" but instead, a different question came out of .

 

"Where is Taeyeon?" Fany asked quickly.

Sooyoung and Sunny studied her for a moment. "They just boarded the plane."

"Has the plane left??"

Sooyoung and Sunny looked at each other then shrugged.

"We're not sure." Sunny said. "But if you want, we can check her again."

Tiffany saw the woman behind Sunny talked to the security.

"My aunt can get us inside." Sunny told her.

 

After a few minutes, the woman came back with a smile.

 

"You three can go inside now. Just don't stay there very long, okay?"

"Thanks, Aunt Ga-in~ I owe you one." Sunny winked.

"What are we waiting for?" Sooyoung said. "Let's go!~"

Tiffany regained her hope.

 

They started running across the waiting area.  

 

"Wait a minute." Sunny stopped. "What was Taengoo's flight number again?"

Sooyoung hesitated for a moment. "I forgot."

"Geez." Sunny facepalmed herself.

Tiffany looked at her watch. The time was 9:03 PM. 

When she glanced back at Sooyoung and Sunny, they were staring at the large window.

 

 

 

An airplane just took off.
