WIND MESSAGES
CHAPTER 12
Yongguk wasn’t the most confident in driving, but Keithia didn’t pay mind. He was partly nervous and excited for this work excursion. He had promised to show her around here one day, the day came a little too soon for him. After pulling the car into a parking space he pulled up the handbrake. “This area is usually pretty busy, so we’ll have to walk a bit.”
“It was a good idea to wear flat shoes this morning.” Yongguk caught a glimpse of the woman smiling at the auburn leaves, fall was truly beautiful.
“Say, what’s your favourite season?”
“Winter.”
“I see why you’re so cold now.”
“That was a bad joke.” Her reply only made the pair laugh as they walked over a little wooden bridge with white water lilies dotting the pond below. The pair walked past a famous sculpture, a memorial site and a historic building. Yongguk had taken it upon himself to act as her guide fulfilling his promise, but he didn’t expect to be blown away by the serenity on her face at that moment. The man had noticed her eyes to be focused, her eyebrows always a little tense, and her jokes were minimal. She looked like a different person. She looked peaceful. Her peace was short lived as usual when the pair arrived at the client’s quaint café tucked away in a jungle of bricked walls. Yongguk did most of the talking, while Keithia took notes that were discussed on the meeting, she filled out notes of her own. Concluding the meeting with happy client and a cup of coffee the pair remained seated and discussed other aspects. Keitha pulled out a paint colour fan, describing the colours that should be incorporated from visual observation.
In Yongguk’s eyes Keithia was amazing, as a person and a colleague. As her senior, the man wished for all her clients to be good ones like now. As a person, the man wished she could smile at him more. Yongguk was beginning to like her, and he knew it could cost him one day.
