Chapter 7
The Monster In My Head
"Jin Ae" - Yoongi paused to look at Jin Ae's lonely back one last time before resuming on his bleak walk back home.
Jin Ae immediately swung around when she heard her name.
"Yah! Come quickly!" - Namjoon's deep voice called out for her, causing her to dismiss the thought of having someone call her name out.
Jin Ae quickened her pace to reach her new found friend.
"Where were you?" - Namjoon questioned, scanning her whole body to check if she was doing alright.
"Huh?"
"I told you to wait here, where did you run off to suddenly?" - Namjoon explained his query.
"Ahhh, I met Jun's brother. He told me some guy helped him sort the bullying trouble. I went to look for the guy to thank him but couldn't find him. Just seconds before that guy was right in front of me and when I took my eyes off him for 2 seconds he vanished. Come to think about it, It's kind of weird for a stranger to do such a thing."
"Look who is calling whom a weirdo! Wasn't it you who saved the little guy yesterday and got hurt instead? Maybe that mystery man is someone just like you who can't stop interfering in other people's life." - Namjoon teased Jin Ae, a childish smile tugged on his face making his dimples pop out.
"How do you know I'm a weirdo? You have barely known me for a day." - Jin Ae huffed.
"Come on, you even slept over at my place. I don't think I come under the category of 'barely' knowing you. And for your kind information I live with a bunch of weirdos, so I usually recognize a weirdo when I see one plus you aren't even denying to be one." - Namjoon gave a proud grin.
"Well you are no less than a weirdo to me." - Jin Ae mumbled to herself and looked out at the ground due to embarrassment but suddenly her eyes caught on to something Namjoon was holding in his hands.
"What's that?" - Jin Ae asked pointing towards his hands, which were now tightly gripping onto the tiny box. The force with which Namjoon gripped onto the box caused it to crack open, whatever was inside that box fell down and rolled towards Jin Ae's feet.
"Oh!" - Jin Ae exclaimed lifting the small container of BB cream off the ground.
"Ummmm this... Your face... Cover your bruise." - Namjoon stammered, flustered that he couldn't hand it in the cool way he had initially planned out.
"You bought this for me ?!" - Jin Ae questioned out of surprise, eyes popping out. Her face lacked no amusement.
"Yeah." - Namjoon replied scratching the back of his head.
"Thank-you but the thing is I don't do make-up." - Jin Ae giggled.
"So you are going to roam around with that bruise on your face ?"
"Well yeah, I mean it's not like anyone cares."
"But still, people are going to talk about it behind your back."
"I'm so used to it that I stopped caring about people talking behind me a long time back. Unless it doesn't cause me any problems, I'm fine with it." - Jin Ae gave a beaming smile to Namjoon while he just looked at her in awe.
Being an Idol, your face and your skills were the source of your income. But not only idols, every single person wants to look their best to the world, they want to hide their flaws from the rest of the world and pretend that they are perfect when on the inside, everything is just the opposite.
Never in his life had he ever met a person who embraced their 'not so good' side like her. Every person he met tried to hide it. It amazed him to see that there were people like Jin Ae who for once didn't give a damn about what people thought. The judgmental looks she got never bothered her.
"Namjoon?" - Jin Ae cooed Namjoon out of his chain of thoughts.
"Huh?"
"Here" - Jin Ae took Namjoon's hand and kept the bb cream on it.
"Yah, it's for females. What am I going to do with it now?" - Namjoon asked.
"You can return it." - Jin Ae answered quickly.
"The lid is cracked, they aren't going to take it. Just keep it with you. Use it if you want." - Namjoon handed it back to her in a flash and ran away from there.
"Yah!" - Jin Ae yelled.
"Good night! Go home safely! " - Namjoon yelled back.
Jin Ae could only sigh in response but there was a sweet smile tugged on her lips while seeing the cracked container of cream.
The walk back to the dorm for Yoongi wasn't an easy one. His mind kept running all over the place like wild horses. He had no control over his thoughts. He felt frustrated and agitated, both at the same time. It was as if a huge burden was placed over his head. It felt as if he was been engulfed into something dark, something he didn't want to be a part of but was being pulled into it forcefully.
Jin Ae was someone different and Yoongi was well aware of it. The moment their eyes locked onto each other, there was a spark, a spark of sadness perhaps. Her eyes gave him a peek into the most saddest part of her soul. A part where all her painfully memories were buried. That was the first time Yoongi believed that eyes do reflect your soul.
Never in his life had he imagined that he would feel such strong emotions towards someone whom he hardly knew. He was yet to understand his true feelings for her.
Was it love ?
Or
Was it something no word could ever describe ?
Morning came in a blink of an eye. The sun spread it's heavenly rays all over the sky. The black sky was now vibrantly filled it colors.
The birds cooed while welcoming the sunrise but there was someone cursing at the same.
"Ahhh I just went to sleep" - Jin Ae groaned, unaware to the fact that she had been asleep for 6 hours.
After questioning herself again and again whether college was worth her sleep, Jin Ae finally got up with a sigh.
As usual she had to rush through her mundane to reach college just on time.
To her surprise, the seat next to her was empty today.
"Looks like you are alone today." - Jeo Seung commented.
"Haha I was all alone to begin with." - Jin Ae replied with a weak smile. It seriously didn't effect her whether someone was sitting next to her or not.
"True."
"How come you are attending the first hour? It's a surprise to see you at this hour." - Jin Ae questioned, patting the seat next to her for Jeo Seung to sit.
"I have something that belongs to you." - Jeo Seung grinned, taking a seat next to her.
"Huh?"
"This." - Jeo Seung handed her a phone.
"Daebak!" - Jin Ae exclaimed - "Where did you find this?"
"You know normal people can't even stay an hour without their phone. How come you are all cool about losing it for more than a day?"
"We aren't normal now, are we? You do know that I hardly use my phone. Plus there are scarcely around 5 contacts on my phone." - Jin Ae confessed with a silly smile.
"True again." - Jeo Seung smiled - "By the way, who hit you this time? Your bruise seems bad."
"Yeah, I know. Was stopping a kid from getting bullied."
Jeo Seung was about to ask her further about it but stopped when he noticed the lecturer enter the room.
The rest of the first half of their classes went so-so. As usual Jin Ae was having a serious battle against her love and enemy - sleep. Both she and Jeo Seung got warned to get thrown out of the class but neither of them paid any heed to it.
By lunch break both of them were drained out, it was almost as if their souls had left their body.
" I'm leaving. Sitting in a place and listening to lectures isn't my cup of tea. I'm more than done for the day." - Jeo Seung exasperated, getting up for his seat.
"What! How am I going to pass the rest of the day?" - Jin Ae questioned.
"You won't be l
