“W-what?” Hana was surprised at the sudden question. Daehyun took her hands and held them in his, slightly squeezing them to reassure her of what is about to happen.

“I want you to be my girlfriend, Hana” Daehyun boldly stated. 

Hana couldn’t stop her cheeks from turning extremely red but she did know one thing. She really did like Daehyun a lot. This was the first time someone has confessed to her and for her to suddenly confess to someone. This was a big moment for her and she didn’t imagine her first confession to be like this but it didn’t matter to her because she was happy and grateful. Hana felt ready for this relationship and nothing was going to stop her from finally having her big moment.

“Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend” Hana responded. She saw Daehyun’s smile become wider and wider. He pulled her in for a hug and she was taken aback.

“Thank you for accepting me, Hana” He whispered into her ear. Hana smiled as she hugged him back. This was the first time they embraced each other. It felt warm and magical. Is this what love feels like?

They pulled back and gazed into each other’s eyes.

“I promise I will protect you, cherish you, and love you” Daehyun said. Hana nodded.

“And I’ll do the same for you too” She replied. They both chuckled.

Drip Drip Drip

They looked up at the sky and saw raindrops slowly falling down.

“It’s raining. I’ll quickly walk you home before you get all soaking wet” Daehyun took off his jacket and placed it over their heads. Hana grabbed one side of the jacket while Daehyun grabbed the other side and in between, they held each other’s hand while running towards Hana’s house.

“Thanks for taking me home, Daehyun…oppa” Hana shyly said. She saw that Daehyun was soaked and felt guilty.

“Why don’t you come in and dry off first?” She asked.

“It’s okay. I don’t want to disturb your family” He politely declined.

“Ahhh, I live with my grandmother only and I’m sure she will be happy to know I have a boyfriend now” Daehyun remained silent for 3 seconds before responding.

“Then I hope you don’t mind…” Hana smirked and unlocked her door.

“Halmeoni! I’m home!”

“Hana? Welcome home! You forgot to bring your umbrella so I hope you didn’t get soaked!” Her halmeoni shouted back from the kitchen. Hana looked at Daehyun and smiled.  She grabbed his hand and dragged him to the kitchen.

“Halmeoni” Hana softly called out. She stopped what she was doing and turned around. She was slightly startled to see a young gentleman in her kitchen.

“Who is this…?” Her halmeoni asked.

“His name is Jung Daehyun” Hana introduced as she held up her hand intertwined with his hand.
