Hana was staring at her clock, waiting for the long and short hand to be over the number 12.

Tick tock tick tock

12AM.

It’s official. Today is the day. The day that Hana turned a year older and possibly wiser.

Yoo Hana is 24 years old. She finally pulls her eyes away from the clock and towards her phone as it was constantly vibrating from the birthday messages. She smiled when she saw Daehyun’s name pop up. Hana opens the text up and reads it.

Happy birthday, love! Can’t wait to see you in the morning! I hope all your wishes and dreams come true! I’m so grateful to spend your birthday with you for the first time! To many more in the future <3

Hana felt the edges of her lips curling up as she finished reading the short, sweet, and simple message.  She couldn’t help but reply with a simple ‘<3’ before putting her phone down and pulling the covers over herself. After some sleep, Hana will be ready to face the first day of being 24.

“Happy birthday, Hana” Halmeoni said as Hana walked into the kitchen. She saw on the dinner table was some seaweed soup, rice, and side dishes waiting for her.

“Go on and eat” Halmeoni was smiling and pushed the soup closer to Hana. She sat down and picked up her spoon and dipped it into the soup.

“It’s delicious, halmeoni” Hana said as she continued to sip on her soup. Halmeoni continued to smile.

“I’ll be having dinner with Daehyun oppa today”

“Araso, don’t stay out too late and be safe” Hana nodded.

After the delicious breakfast, Hana left the house to meet up Daehyun by the music store.

“Hana!” She looked up and saw Daehyun waving at her. She smiled and waved back.

“Happy birthday!” Daehyun gave a quick peck on Hana’s lips and she was taken aback.

“Ahh, thanks” She looked down and saw Daehyun holding a small bouquet of flowers.

“These are for you” Hana’s eyes widened a bit and she smiled.

“These are lovely..” She took a quick whiff of the flowers. “and they smell amazing”

Daehyun was feeling proud and happy. “Thank you, honey” Hana pulled Daehyun in for a hug.

“Come on, I have plans for us to make this a great birthday for you” Daehyun intertwined his fingers with Hana’s and he led her to their first location of the day.

They arrive shortly at a dog café. They entered the building and was greeted by a staff member. A dog came running up to Hana and tried to her hand. Hana squealed and immediately petted the dog’s head. A room full of cute dogs of all breeds surrounded her and it is honestly one of the greatest places a dog lover could go to. She couldn’t help but pet every dog her eyes saw. Meanwhile, Daehyun ordered a bingsu while Hana was playing with a dog.
