Three
Pieces of My Aesthetic HeartDaehyun arrived at a local café all freshened up and saw Youngjae waiting for him by the window, sipping on his iced americano.
“Yo” Daehyun called out and Youngjae looked up and broke into a grin. They pounded their fist with each other.
“You look different” Youngjae said.
“How so?”
“I don’t know….maybe it’s because you got a girlfriend” He teased. Daehyun laughed.
“Why don’t you get a girlfriend then?” Daehyun teased back. Youngjae rubbed the back of his neck and smirked.
“So how was the mini getaway to Jeju-do?”
“It was great. It was fun and we enjoyed the view that your place offered. Which, by the way, thanks man”
“Nah, as long as you enjoyed it” Youngjae smiled. “I still can’t believe you got a girlfriend though. I can still remember you being so hung up on Soojin” Daehyun frowned a bit, feeling slightly bitter than Youngjae had to bring up a painful past relationship. Daehyun was over Soojin, but their relationship wasn’t exactly very easy for Daehyun to move on.
“Speaking of Soojin, I think she came back to Seoul about 2 weeks ago. Has she contacted you?” Youngjae asked as he sipped on his iced Americano again.
“Uh…we haven’t spoke to each other in a while” It was all Daehyun could say. He didn’t know what he would say or do if he saw Soojin again.
“What’s your girlfriend’s name?”
“Hana. Yoo Hana”
“Does she know about Soojin?”
“Can we not talk about her right now?” Youngjae saw how Daehyun was feeling uncomfortable.
“Okay, but I have something to tell you” Daehyun furrowed his eyebrows.
“What?” Youngjae gulped.
“Don’t kill me but I…invited Soojin out the café”
“ YOU WHAT?!” Daehyun accidentally shouted and he looked around him and saw some customers looking at him weirdly.
“What do you mean you invited her?” Daehyun hissed.
“I don’t know. I thought you would be comfortable with her around you know. It’s been so long since all three of us hung out like this”
Daehyun leaned back into his chair and glared at Youngjae.
“You traitor”
“Come on….she said she wanted to see you again” Daehyun huffed and looked out the window, still slightly upset at Youngjae.
“Youngjae?” A girl slowly walked up to the table. Daehyun and Youngjae looked up and saw a girl dressed elegantly from head to toe.
“Soojin!” Youngjae stood up and hugged her.
“You remember Daehyun, right?” Soojin shifted her eyes over to Daehyun, who was in shock to see his ex-girlfriend standing in front of him.
“Daehyun oppa?” He cringed when he heard ‘oppa’.
“Ah…it’s been a while…” He uttered softly.
“Yeah…how have you been?” Soojin asked.
“You know….the usual” Daehyun murmured. Youngjae could feel the awkwardness between the two.
“Soojin, what would you like to drink? The usual strawbe
