Figuring Out
Pieces of My Aesthetic HeartHana watched Daehyun walk away from her. Her hand dropped back down to her sides. She glanced at the empty apartment, and it felt unusually cold. She often waited for Daehyun at his apartment, alone, but this time, it felt different. Like she didn’t have a place there.
Hana couldn’t put her finger on why she felt this way either. She couldn’t figure out what triggered Daehyun to leave so abruptly. She played with her fingers and slowly sat on the couch that they were just sitting on. She pulled her phone out and sent Daehyun a short text
“I’m sorry. Come home and we can talk about it, okay?” it read
She bit her lips and looked around. She sighed one more time before getting up and gathered her belongings, ready to leave the apartment. She looked down at her phone one more time to see if Daehyun had replied.
‘No Messages’
She grew disappointed and took one more glance at the apartment. The clothes that she had folded laid neatly on his bed. His guitar laid out on the ground, and the tea, she carefully brewed for him, getting cold.

Daehyun put his hands in his pockets, as the air grew more cold. He didn’t know why he stormed out of the apartment because he wasn’t angry at Hana at all. He couldn’t be. She was so loving and kind to him. So forgiving and selfless. But maybe that was the problem. That she was too perfect. He didn’t want her to focus all her time and energy on him when she has a dream to accomplish. Or at least had a dream..
Daehyun continued to walk around the neighborhood while thinking about the first time he met Hana and all their adventures. He couldn’t help but smile at times. He found a nearby bench and sat down. He took out his phone and saw the message Hana had sent him earlier. He frowned because he knew he had hurt her.

Nighttime was approaching and Hana was back in her room, unable to focus on her work. She didn’t understand what she had done wrong earlier and it was bugging her. Suddenly, her phone rang and it was Daehyun calling.
