It was dark outside when halmeoni came home. She shouted for Hana but there was no response. Halmeoni knocked on her door and yet again, no response. She cautiously opened the door and peered inside to find Hana on the floor with her face buried in her lap.

“Hana? What’s wrong?” She softly asked.  Hana lifted her head and slowly met eyes with her grandmother. Hana couldn’t utter a single word because she knew the moment she tries to speak, tears would fall again.  She simply looked at her grandmother and halmeoni understood so she pulled Hana in for a warm hug.

“Don’t give up” Hana closed her eyes and hugged her grandmother. She really needed a shoulder to cry on and was glad her grandmother was there for her at the right moment.  Feeling devastated by the news of her rejection to put her art in the exhibition, it will take some time for Hana to completely get over, but she still has some hope in heart to continue doing what she loves.

Hana was in bed when she texted Daehyun about her rejection. He offered to come over to comfort her but Hana decided that she was feeling much better after talking to her grandmother and taking a warm shower.  Hana looked up from her phone to look at one of her paintings when suddenly her phone rang. She looked down at her hand and saw an incoming call from ‘Heartthrob Jung Daehyun’ on her phone screen.

“Yobosaeyo?” Hana answered.

“How are you feeling?” Daehyun asked.

“I could be better”

“Sorry, I should’ve been there for you when you found out”

“No, it’s fine. I would’ve wanted alone time anyways” Hana fibbed.

“Are you sure you don’t want me to come over? We can watch a movie and cuddle” Daehyun asked. Hana chuckled.

“It’s getting late..”

“How about we go out for drinks tomorrow? To forget about all your worries?” Hana hesitated but she did want to see Daehyun and she could really use a drink or two…

“Araso”

“I’ll pick you up at 7?” Daehyun was feeling excited.

“Yeh…”

“Okay, then good night honey! Sweet dreams~”

“Good night…” Hana ended the call and looked at her phone. She sighed before she placed the phone on her desk and tucked herself under the blankets. *Things will get better…*

Hana’s birthday was coming up in two days and Hana didn’t want to be reminded how another year of her life has come and gone. To her, the best part of her whole year was meeting Daehyun. She loved everything about him and wanted to be the best for him.

Hana was in her room, scrolling through pages and pages of images in hopes of being inspired.

KNOCK KNOCK

Hana didn’t take her eyes off her laptop and casually said, “come in!”

There was chuckling and Hana immediately looked up and saw Daehyun looking at her.

“What are you looking at so intently that you couldn’t bother to look at your handsome boyfriend?” Daehyun joked.

“Ahh, I was just trying to look for inspiration” Daehyun walked over to Hana and placed his arms around her shoulders.

“You’ve worked hard, let’s tak
