“Here, try my waffle, I bet it tastes better than the One in HongDae.” TaecYeon places a plate with two waffles that he already drizzled with nuttela in front of me.

“You just want my approval, don’t you?” I smirk and take a bit of it. It really is better than the one we had yesterday.

“How is it?”

“Amazing. Ya! You should open up your own parlor next to them and steal their costumers instantly.” I take another bite.

“Go finish that one, I’ll make some more.” He continues to busy himself with cooking.

This used to be our typical morning years ago. I’d always wake up with the aroma of his cooking, he’d always encourage me to have some bites for breakfast before he leaves to work. Later he’d return and cook some more while telling me what happened to him during the day. That was the darkest time of my life, when I used to have suicidal thoughts all the time.

“Thank god, you’re awake.” I hear a man’s voice from a distance. Only when he comes closer I could really see his face. He’s a tall young man with a familiar face. I think I’ve seen him before somewhere.

I blink a few times to gather my thoughts. Where am I really? The last thing that I remember was the jump I made into Han River. Why am I here? Am I dead?

“Do you remember your name, aggashi?” The man asks politely.

I blink for some more before I try to lift my body into a seating position. I can’t move. I try again to lift my back and the man helps me out this time.

“Easy now, you just had a rough night and passed out for two days.” He explains to me what happened.

“AeRi.” I hear my own soar voice.

“My name.” I finish my words in whisper.

“Ahh.. I see.. Your name is AeRi-ssi. My name is TaecYeon, you’re in my place.” The more he explains the more confuse I become.

I stare at him for a long time trying to get the grasp of the reality around me.

“Here, take this medicine. Later we can have some soup I already made for us to help you gain your strength back.” He offers me some pills and a glass of water.
