The Confrontation
After A Long Long WhileAeRi is not in the teachers’ lounge by the lunch time. I guess it’s official that she’s avoiding me. I know her schedule and plan to talk to her as two adults about what happened last weekend. I was about to knock he classroom door when I see it’s already opened. I come closer and see the last thing I need to see today.
That man is there, inside her class. He’s holding her hand while speaking to her.
“AeRi-ya, I wish I can change things to go my way. You have no idea how much I wish I hadn’t left you, how much I wish this drawing is about us.” He holds her hand, and she doesn’t do anything about it.
I’m boiled with anger and jealousy. After she said she wanted to put everything in the past, threw her wedding rings, after what she convinced me to do to her last weekend, she give the very man that messed her up another chance. I never feel so used and powerless all my life. I cannot hear the rest of their conversation because I’m too mad to even concentrate.
He caresses her shoulder before he got out, I automatically hide behind the door. After I’m sure he’s not around the building anymore, I barge into AeRi’s class. She sits on the chair while supporting her forehead with both of her hand, face down.
“Is this what you call moving on? Letting him come and go as he likes it, messing you around again?” I’m not even trying to lower my voice. I’m too mad to care.
She lifts her face up, to my relieve she’s not crying. “TaecYeon-a, I’d like to be alone if you don’t mind.”
“I do mind. I want your explanations, AeRi-ya. I need to know what he has, what he’s done to you that turn you into this hopeless being.”
“Please Yeon-a, I’ll explain later.” She gets up and walks towards me, “I really need to be alone.”
“What for? To consider what he just said? About how he wished he hadn’t left you?” it seems like all of my patience for AeRi has gone to its limit and blow up at this point.
