“What movie do you want to watch tonight?”

You held the whole stack in hand, shifting through them quickly while trying to show them to Taekwoon. It was Friday movie night, something you had been doing for ages now. You had met through a mutual friend and despite his quiet personality you had gotten along well enough to be friends yourselves.

There was only one problem-- you had a major, major crush on him. You were paying attention more to his face than his choice as you held out the movies.

“This one.”

His voice was quieter than usual; the movie he had chosen was a pretty popular romance, one you had thrown into the mix for kicks and never expected him to actually want to watch. Did he seem nervous, or was it just you? Usually you stuck to safer genres like action or sci-fi; you weren't sure how you would hold out with a movie like that playing.

“Oh, sure...”

Silence with Taekwoon was never awkward or uncomfortable until that moment. You plugged in the movie, settled on your respective sides of the couch, and proceeded to ignore the movie completely.

All of your attention was on Taekwoon; slowly as the the movie ran you both gravitated to the center of the couch. By the time the big kiss was approaching the two of you were nearly sitting on each other. As much as you wanted to move, you couldn't help but enjoy his emanating warmth.

You felt Taekwoon's hand cover yours in the small free space between your bodies and your heart nearly jumped out of your throat. You looked at him in confusion but he had his eyes glued to the screen.

“Sorry,” he mumbled, but he didn't move his hand; you didn't pull yours away either. The movie rolled on, credits soon to play. For the first time you actually paid attention to it a slight bit, partially to escape Taekwoon and partially because you honestly had no idea what had even happened. What was the cinching drama? Was the male lead even cute? You--

Your attention snapped back to Taekwoon as his fingers curled around yours; he was staring right into your eyes now, movie long forgotten, willing you to pay attention to him.

“I really, really like you, so um...” He trailed off, looking down as a little blush charged across his cheeks.

“E-excuse me?” Maybe the thudding of your heart was screwing with your ears.

He leaned forward, quickly and gently pressing his lips to yours. As he pulled back, now severely embarrassed, you couldn't help but smile.

“Oh...” So it wasn't a problem with your ears then, unless all of your senses were faulty. Unwittingly you smiled, reveling in the feeling of his lips on yours. “I like you too.”

Taekwoon broke into a grin, something so rare and precious that you unconsciously squeezed his hand. You couldn't wait until next Friday.
