Seohyun's POV

It was now 10 hours since Kyuhyun-oppa suddenly asked me a really weird question.

"Seohyun-ah, do you like anyone?"

Why would he be asking me that?

I mean of course I couldn't have said it was him because we just met and I've decided to get to know him a bit better. But just the way he popped the question unexpectedly made me curious. 

Part of me was hoping he was asking me that because he likes me. 

But in the end, he probably only sees me as a younger sister. 

I told Hyoyeon-unnie what happened as we walked to school together and she was pretty confused herself.

"Sometimes a guy asks a girl who she likes because he's probably interested in her. But I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you. I don't want you to get hurt okay?"

I nodded. 

"But also don't worry. You're so beautiful and talented. Kyuhyun would be an idiot if he doesn't like you back."

I chuckled. "Thanks, unnie. That means a lot." 

When we were finally at school, I said goodbye to Hyoyeon-unnie and walked to my class. 

During Performance Arts class that day, the teacher announced, "Class, in a few weeks we will be doing our first performance. You can perform in group or do solos. Actors and actresses will also be putting on a play. I know some of you are first year students and it can be nerve-wrecking, but I truly believe in you guys. Alright, now I'll give you guys a few minutes to decide if you would rather work in a group or by yourself. Choose wisely."

I sat there in silence, thinking if I should sing with the unnies or solo. I've had solo performances before but wasn't sure if I should perform solo this time. The other unnies seem to have decided to do solos so maybe I should too?

"Seohyun-ah, would you like to do a duet with me?"

I turned around, secretly hoping it was Kyuhyun-oppa who asked.

And it was.

"K-Kyuhyun-oppa! Uh s-sure. I-I would love to do a d-duet with you." He smiled brightly and I blushed.

But something was bothering me.

I turned to look at Changmin and saw that he was staring straight at me, his eyes filled with sadness. 

I felt really bad. 

"K-Kyuhyun-oppa, would it be okay if we add Changmin-oppa too? I mean he doesn't seem that happy."

"Aww but I was hoping to sing it only with you."

Changmin must've heard us because he said, "No no, it's fine. You two can sing together. I'll just do a solo. Don't worry." He tried to smile but I could tell he was faking it.

"Oppa..."

"Seohyun-ah it's fine. Really." 

I nodded slowly, still feeling bad.

"Okay class! Please stand with your partners or groups if you're not doing solos! And soloists please come up to the front. I'll be assigning what song you guys will be singing according to your voice type."

"Seohyun-ah, let's stand over here." Kyuhyun walked over to the right wall and I followed.

"Oppa, just out of curiosity, why did you pick me? Out of all the other female singers, why me?"

"I-I just thought i-it'd be fun working with you. I j-just like your voice."

I giggled at the sight of Kyuhyun-oppa being nervous.

"What? Why are you laughing?"

"No reason."

I was so happy to get to sing a duet with Kyuhyun-oppa!
