Chapter Six
StormI lean my head back against the wall, my eyelids falling like raindrops. The clouds begin to cry once more, screaming in the form of thunder. Perhaps hoping to calm the sky, YoungJi begins to hum. The sweet melody swims into my ears and consciousness. Slowly parting my eyes, I soon become entranced. I watch her tenderly as she places a band-aid on the corner of my lips. Her fingers linger on my face, her thumb brushing over my lips as she secures the band-aid. Finished tending to my face, her eyes drop to my right hand, bruised and stained in blood. Before she can take my hand I stop her.
“Heo YoungJi. Aren’t you going to kiss me to make it heal faster?” I ask, my eyes heated and playful.
Slightly taken aback she stutters, “Seriously?”
“Of course,” I say. In an attempt to convince her I flutter my lashes and purse my lips, looking as cute as possible.
I wait for her in anticipation, a smile and beaming eyes replacing my puppy face. But my heart sinks when I feel her fingers on my lips. Instead of kissing me directly, she placed a kiss on two of her fingers, which then provided a passageway to my lips.
Feeling disappointed a sigh escapes me. Our eyes meet, and I can see that she’s embarrassed. To ease her discomfort, I look away and offer her my injured hand. Before I realize what’s happening, a set of trembling lips connects with mine. I shudder as she quickly places a second kiss on my lips, and a third on my cheek. She boldly remains leaned over me.
“Happy now?” She asks, her face crimson red.
Speechless, I nod my head multiple times. I stare into her eyes as I my lips to take in every trace of her.
Before she can sit back down I grab her waist and rotate her body so she’s facing away from me. Ignoring her small protests, I gently pull her back so she’s leaning
