Foreword
Lieutenant Colonel Ji Hyo studies Lieutenant General Jong Kook, her eyes falling along his sharp jawline dropping towards his built chest and arms that are about to burst from his sleeves. “He couldn’t find a larger top?” Ji Hyo thinks to herself. Lost in her own thoughts, she doesn’t realize Jong Kook is inspecting her every move.
“Your barracks are to the left. Also, you don’t live up to the rumors. Here I was expecting some sort of goddess,” Lieutenant General Jong Kook says.
Ji Hyo clenches her jaw in fury.
“Neither do you, sir. I received a call from General Yoo Jae Suk informing me that you were one of the most highly thought of Generals who enforced courtesy and protocol, yet you display neither. I will promptly inform General Yoo Jae Suk that he has been misinformed,” Ji Hyo smiles.
Sounds of shock and awe are heard throughout the groups of soldiers surrounding them.
Jong Kook’s chest tightens. Closing the distance between them, Jong Kook glares at Ji Hyo. Not one to retreat, Ji Hyo lifts her head, matching Lieutenant General Jong Kook’s eyes, neither backing down.
