It’s been about a week and a half since Kai hadn’t been to work due to Asher’s recovery, but it sure did feel good to be up and working again. That last whole week spent with Asher was more than Kai could have ever ask for a ‘break’ well spent with his ball of sunshine. Though Kai wished he could just spend every minute of his days making Asher laugh and giggle, someone still had to bring home the money and pay bills and that was Kai's job, as a responsible father.

“Hey, haven’t seen you in a few days.” Chanyeol had his long arm thrown around Kai’s shoulders and behind him came Kyungsoo following shortly behind.

“Arms off Park, it’s too early for your happy virus mood.” Kyungsoo scowls at him, making Chanyeol remove his arm from Kai.

“Who pissed in your coffee this morning.” Chanyeol whispered under his breath, not wanting Kyungsoo to hear that, and that made Kai chuckle. Kyungsoo sent Chanyeol a death glare sending chills down his spine.

“Good morning, guys.” Kai laughed at the both them. He had to lighten up the mood before Kyungsoo ended up killing Chanyeol for his idioticness.

“Hows’ Asher doing?” Kyungsoo asked taking a swig of his morning coffee.

“He’s all better now, up and running around. And Lay has a job again.”

“That’s great news!” Chanyeol showed his pearly teeth, which soon disappears from a glare by Kyungsoo.

“You’ve been out for a week. Have you been informed on what’s going on these past few weeks?”

“Uh, no, but Sehun said nothing while he was visiting Asher and nothing about this week’s agenda.”

“You were on some sort of a maternity leave, Kai, of course he wouldn’t have informed you. But then again, it was last minute." Kyungsoo frowned a bit as if what he said next might sting Kai a little. "Apparently the Chairman has been keen on pushing Sehun and Hyeri’s wedding date sooner than they had originally planned. It seems that he’s in a hurry to retire and see Sehun resume over the chairman’s position.”

 “And Sehun is aware?” Kyungsoo raised a brow and nods at Kai’s obvious question. Kai lightly sighs at the odd feeling of slight stinging in his chest.

Just a few moments of Kai taking the information in, there were clattering of business shoes meeting the marble floor beneath their feet. Chairman Oh was seen getting out of the lavishly expensive car and followed closely behind him was Sehun as they made their way up the pearly white marble steps of the company. Kai and the other chauffeurs bowed in acknowledgement and respect. The Chairman looked as though he had a glint of shear spark of happiness in his eyes as he strode forward with striking steps and as Sehun passed by Kai there was a smile that Kai was absent to, due to having his eyes glued to the pearl marble floors.  Kai wasn’t here to be friends with Sehun after all, he was solely here due to business and duty calls. And keeping everything personally business was what Kai has been living by.

Due to the jobs that were assign to the PA’s Kai was assigned to go on coffee duty and as if it wasn’t awkward enough already, Hyeri had tagged along because besides the personal assistants, Hyeri was the only one who knew what types of coffee the higher ups preferred. The ride there and back was silent and Kai was fighting with his pride on whether to let Hyeri in on letting her know about Asher’s first day of school next week or not.

Kai had too much mush pride so probably not.

It was Asher’s first day and every kindergartener’s mother will be accompanying their child except for Asher and he would like for Asher to have that same heartfelt experience. Just the thought of it pains Kai to no end.

Hyeri seemed like she had a lot on her mind that she wanted to converse, but she was hesitant, careful not to press Kai’s buttons to piss him off on this short coffee trip. Kai was more than relieved that there was nothing, but quietness and he appreciated that, his love turned hatred for her had slowly subsided.

Coming to a complete stop in front of the Oh Enterprise, Kai turns the ignition off and proceeds to helping Hyeri deliver the coffee. They both were in the elevator making their way up, when Kai finally decided to throw away his egotism.

“Ahem..” Kai swallowed his saliva, here goes nothing. “Asher’s first day of school is next week.”

“What?” Hyeri looked slightly surprised, but held her composure well.

“Asher’s first day of kindergarten is next week on Monday. Yongsan International School. Don’t get me wrong,
