Astraphobia
Rain LockJae's POV
I snuggle deeper into my blanket while trying my best to block out the thunderous noise with my hand. It was raining hard with loud thunder blooming through the sky. I hate, absolutely HATE, this kind of weather. That's because I developed astraphobia, the fear of thunder, when I was around eight years-old.
Flashback Start
At that time I still had a brother who is six-years older than me. He always took care of me anywhere and at anytime. I really love him and adore him. I still do.
It was the weekend when we decided to go out and play in the park. During the morning it was all sunny and bright, but around 3 p.m. the thunder and the rain started. Everyone ran for cover, but since we are far from our house we can't run all the way back. So my brother decided to go across the street and buy an umbrella for us to avoid getting wet. He told me to stay at the bench and wait for him, so I did.
After around 10 minutes, the rain started to drizzle and he was still not back. So I decided to stand near the park's entrance to wait for him. I saw him, standing across the street smiling and waving the umbrella at me. The light turned and he started to cross the street. He was almost here, but a truck came racing toward him. I shouted at him to look out, but at the same time a thunder roared and my brother was there laying on the street with blood, lot of blood.
