“What if they don’t believe me?” you pouted while hanging your head low.

“Don’t worry, I’ll help you explain.” His voice was stiff, formal, his shoulders rigid.

“They might find it hysterical since it’s not realistic.” You whispered, half to yourself.

You gulped in a huge amount of air.

You held onto Kwangmin’s arm since you were nervous.

You directed him to your house. It seems like nobody was home since it was very silent.

You mustered up courage and lifted your hand.

You lightly knocked on the door.

“Who is it?” you were surprised when you heard your mother’s voice since you thought that nobody was home.

She opened the door and was surprised to see you.

“You again?” she said curtly.

“Mom.” You mumbled.

“I’m not your mother.” Her eyebrows pulled together.

“Mom.” You pulled her into a hug and you rested your cheek on her shoulder while crying.

She softened.

The two of you stayed in each other’s embrace for a few minutes.

She broke free from the hug while cradling your face in her hands.

“I don’t have a daughter, I’m sorry. My son has been missing for days now. I’m desperately looking for him.” A tear fell from her eye.

You put your hand over hers to hold it to your face.

“I’m your son.” You said in your head.

She patted your head before she went back into the house.

You couldn’t help but sob since you miss her so much.

“Mom.” You murmured.

Kwangmin slowly walked towards you.

He slung his arms around your shoulder and he pulled you closer to him.

“Don’t cry.” He said in a soothing voice.

The two of you were both silent for a moment, and then his finger was under your chin, coaxing your face up.

“Let’s go home.” He suggested.

He used his thumb to wipe away your tear.

“I shouldn’t waste my tears.” You laughed without humor.

A pained look tightened his face.

He reached out for your hand and gave it a light squeeze.

“Don’t worry, you will be able to reunite with your parents soon.” He ruffled your hair.

“I hope.” You thought.
