Chapter 39

For the days that followed Jaejoong spoke less to everyone including Yunho. That night Yunho had ran after Jaejoong along with someone else who grabbed hold of Jaejoong, before Yunho even had the chance to stop him, “Hey what the hell, let him go!” Yunho was about to punch the guy and making him get away from Jaejoong, but what the guy did next confused Yunho. He stared at Jaejoong for a moment before he pulled Jaejoong closed, as Jaejoong pounded his fists into his chest. Yunho didn’t know what to do… Did they know each other? Seemed like it. They would have had to Jaejoong wouldn’t have acted like that for any particular realise right? He was doing his best to convince himselve. It would have been the first time he’d seen Jaejoong act like that and that’s what worried him but it also impressed him even just a little fight in him. His Jaejoong was gentle and soft, he watched the action for a moment before Jaejoong pulled away…

“Jae…” Yunho called out but the guy had already beaten him to it. He began to speak to Jaejoong as Yunho moved forward. “Jae…” Jaejoong turned to Yunho, as he wiped the tears from his eyes. He looked almost scared in a way.

“Yunho! Jaejoong! what are you doing here?” Both boys turned seeing Yunho’s mother step out from his car looking at both boys and then at Taemin as he appeared by his side. Leeteuk approach them realising something didn’t feel right to him. He looked a little closer at Jaejoong and then to the other guy who was close by, “Jaejoong?”

“Lee-Leetuek-shi, could you take me home?”

“Of course.” Leetuek didn’t question, questions could be saved until later. He led Jaejoong to the car turning back to look over his should at Yunho who hadn’t removed his gaze for the other guy. He wasn’t sure what had happen but he would need to ask later. “Yunho…”

“You own me big time!” Taemin threw a glance at Yunho as he stared long and hard at his phone waiting, hoping Jaejoong would call him, even just to let him know he was alright. ‘Do you have any idea what I had to sit through after you opened your big mouth, do you know how long I had to sit there and listen to them..?”

“I’m sorry Tae, I never meant to say that. I just wanted Umma to stop questioning why Jaejoong was in that state.” Yunho told him, “You know what Umma can be like.”

“So you landed me in it instead, perfect! Do you know I probably have a person for everything I do.” Taemin stated. Yunho was to busy in his thought. Why did his mother have to turn up in that moment. His mother had asked him what happened. But what came out of his mouth as he explained himself was something he hadn’t planned, his remembered how he turned around explaining Jaejoong saw Taemin in a predicament similar to his own. And he couldn’t deal with it Leeteuk would have lost it, if he hadn’t looked at Jaejoong and saw how timid he look Yunho felt for him. He remembered Jaejoong asking his mother would he drop him home. Leeteuk wasn’t going to allow Jaejoong out of his sight that was for sure.

“Who was that guy anyway?” Yunho asked Taemin.

“Park Yoochun he’s a senior at the dance studio. If I’m not mistaken he came from the states.”

“When…”

“A while ago I think… maybe a year ago. His family moved here, I only know him through the studio. He quick on his feet, knows his stuff, he always on my case about straining my muscle with the amount of pressure I place on my joints. He says I turned too fast into the next move without thinking.” Taemin tried to get back to point at hand. “Do you think Jaejoong knows him? I never saw him act like that before. He acted so weird he...”

“That’s why I’m worried.”

“You must really like him, I’ve never seen you worry about any of your other girlfriend like that; usually you would just shrug it off.”

“Jaejoong different, there’s something about him. The way he laughs, smile the way he is… He shows all his emotion even when he doesn’t say anything I can’t help it.” Yunho looked at him, “When were together we don’t even have to say anything, he just feel comfortable around one another.”

“You've fallen deep.”

“Shut up!” Taemin laughed, “You know phones work both ways, why don’t you call him?” Yunho wanted too, but he figured he wouldn’t reach Jaejoong, not yet. Thought it didn’t stop him sending a text to Jaejoong telling him he was here waiting for him. But that night nothing came Yunho’s way. For the days that follow Yunho saw less of Jaejoong. Most days he waited at the end of the block but was informed by Donghae that he’s been sick so he wouldn’t be in school for a few days. Yunho found it hard to believe but Donghae continued telling him about a high fever so he would be missing school for a few days until he was better. Yunho couldn’t help but think Jaejoong was just avoiding him. By the fifth day Yunho couldn’t take it anymore, he walked up to Jaejoong’s house knocking on the door. He had brought some tasty treats Jaejoong would like.

Jaejoong’s mother answered the door, “Oh Yunho… I haven’t seen you in a few days, then again it would have been in your best interest to stay away. I’m guessing you want to see Jaejoong. Go on I won’t stop you as I know you too well and you won’t leave until I let you in right?” Yunho nodded at Heechul statement, “You’re going to kill me if you get sick, fine he’s in his room but I should warn you most of us have come down with something…” Yunho had to admit Heechul-shi didn’t look to well himself. Yunho nodded he made his way to Jaejoong’s room. He knocked on Jaejoong’s door then he heard a soft sound telling him to come in.

“Jaejoong, how are you?” Yunho went in looking around, he felt guilty thinking Jaejoong had been avoiding him. He looked at his sick beauty laying on his bed, he really didn’t look to well Yunho’s heart tighten when he saw how sick Jaejoong was.

“Yunho, you came,” Jaejoong smiled weakly at him, “Why do you look how I fell!” Jaejoong gave a light laugh before he start to cough. Yunho sat beside him, “I thought you were avoiding me.”

“Why would you think that?” Jaejoong sat up he pouted when he saw Yunho’s glum face. He was not ungrateful that Yunho came, but he was afraid that Yunho would worried and started to blame himself. “Why would you think that, is it about what I did? About Yoochun?”

“You know him?” Yunho asked.

“I did, we were close once, I’m embarrassed what I did I’ll need to apologize.”

“I thought maybe he was one of those people that did that to you…”

“No, Yoochun was gone long before they did that to me. I guess it started after he left.” Jaejoong thought back to it.

“Really?”

“Hmm, Yoochun was a really good friend of mine and hyung mostly mine though.” Yunho wanted to know more.

“How close?” He asked before Jaejoong poked him in the cheek.

“Are you jealous?”

“Jealous of what?​” Yunho lashed back looking around. “If he was close why…”

“I supposed I blamed him for what happened.” Jaejoong told him. “That stuff happen shortly after he moved. I guess I didn’t have anyone after he was gone, I not a person who makes friends easy, sure look how long it took for me to start talking to you. Hey, don't pout. You’re my boyfriend he was just a friend who I haven’t seen for a year or two.” Yunho sulked only making Jaejoong sit up more.

“You brought me something?” Yunho had forgotten he lifted up the bag remembering.

“Strawberry, I know you like them.”

“Thank you, you should go.”

“What, don’t want me here?”

“No I’ do. I’m glad you came but I don’t want you to get sick.” Jaejoong told him, he reached out and took hold of Yunho’s hand. That was the closest they had gotten in their relation but it meant a lot to them. Yunho couldn’t help but look at Jaejoong.

“I think I’ll stay and keep you company for a while.” Yunho lay on the bed beside him. He couldn’t help but kiss Jaejoong forehead.

 “What's that for? You will get my cold if you’re not careful.”

“Don't worry, I'm strong enough. Besides I can share your sickness with you.” Yunho looked at Jaejoong's swell up lips and he so needed to kiss him, but not yet… they needed more time until they were at that stage.

“Yah, stay away from me. Don't you know that I'm sick?” Jaejoong pushed Yunho away when he saw Yunho getting closer and closer.

“I told you I’ll be fine.” Yunho trapped Jaejoong in between his arms, “Besides if I do then you can visit me instead.”

“That’s so cheese.”

“Awh really… Even if I just want to spend time it you.”

“You can spend time with me when I’m better…” Jaejoong pushed his way.

“Really go, I don’t want you to catch this.”

“I wish you still live at my house, that  way you couldn’t force me out.” Yunho kissed his forehead again.
