Chapter 37

“Taemin, hurry and finish your breakfast do you want to be late for dance practice?”

“No…”

“Well then get a move on. Your  Appa will be dropping you off.” Leetuek told his son as he moved around cleaning the kitchen table off after breakfast. “Seriously where did Changmin go, he’s on clean up breakfast? Guess I’ll be changing it to dinnner time, or I’m cutting his allowance.” Taemin shrugged his shoulder. “Hurry Taemin…” Taemin looked up to heaven before leaving the kitchen to get ready.

“Alright I want you two in the car in ten minutes,” Siwon informed his sons coming into the kitchen the next morning. Jaejoong was a bit antsy about facing everyone and hid in his parent’s room for most of the morning the next day until it was Donghae that finally dragged him downstairs, telling him he was being silly and need to have breakfast. Jaejoong couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed to face Yunho, though Yunho was his orindary self, sitting across the table from were he sat. “Morning,” Yunho greeted him with a grin. Yunho turned when he felt an elbow in his sides. Junsu elbowed him. “Don’t like someone hah?”

“Shut it Su!” Jaejoong didn’t pay much attention to what was going on, he was surprise no one brought up what happen yesterday, but it was a relief after spending most of the night talking to his parents, he wasn’t sure how to bring anything up. While he sat at the table, he listened to the conversation going on around him. Though he barely said two words… It was like yesterday hadn’t happened, no one brought up what they saw on Jaejoong’s arms, no one. “Where are we going?” Donghae asked his parents as they sat at the table. Heechul placed his hand on Jaejoong’s shoulder giving it a life squeeze making Jaejoong look up to him.

“You’ll just have to come along and find out… won’t you.

“We’re are we?” Jaejoong looked out the window. As his parent pulled up into a driveway, 

“Don’t you recognise this place?” his mother asked, Heechul thought it might be a long shot for Jaejoong to remember but it was worth a try wasn’t it? Jaejoong followed Donghae out of the car. Jaejoong looked up at the house he vaguely remember the place it was in the back of his childhood forgotten momories. “We lived here!”

“And will again.” Their mother told them, both Donghae and Jaejoong looked at their parents.

“But… you sold this place when me moved, how?”

“Two certain people went behind are backs and both place under a fake name.”

“Who…? Donghae asked, realising straight away who did.

“They wanted to help, when Jaejoong got sick, and selling the house fast was in our best interest at the time, so they did the most generous thing for us. They knew we wouldn’t accept their money so they did this for us. Come on.” Heechul led them up to the house opening the door. Jaejoong looked around as trying to remember the place for the first time in a long time. It wasn’t until he came to his old room that he really looked around. Jaejoong touched certain area trying to remember, “So what do you think?” His mother asked him leaning on the door frame.

“I-I… I don’t know.”

“This is your room, you can do what you like with it, why don’t you come with me tomorrow and pick out paint or wallpaper whatever you like can go. We can make it how you like it.”

It was two weeks later that the Choi family moved out of the Jung house under the watchful eye of Leeteuk who dread them leaving, but if you really thought about it, it wasn’t like they really had, if it wasn’t them over at the Jung, it was the Jungs over at their home, they were helping them move in and finished decorating the place. They usually had dinner most evening just for a meet up or chit chat. But what really matter were the boys are close and Jaejoong was comfortable around them. Heechul had even learned what Jaejoong wanted to ask him, art class… there was a program in school he wanted Heechul to sign the consent form, in the weeks following Jaejoong had brought home many things but what made Heechul and Siwon more happy was Jaejoong talked more, he was smiling more he was happy, happier than they had seen in him in a long time. But one thing they saw in their son was a conversation involving Yunho came up, Jaejoong eye lit up. They could see it Jaejoong was becoming closer to Yunho.

“Where are you going so early?” Heechul asked from the bottom of the stairs.

“I’m meeting up with Yunho, we’re going to an art gallery.”

“Oh, anyone else going?”

“Mmmm… I think Jusnu is.”

“You think?”

“I don’t know, maybe Taemin or Changmin I don’t know… I’ll see you later.”

“Hey Jaejoong…” Before Heechul could say anything, Jaejoong was out the door like lightening. Heechul shook his head, he’d be lying if he say he didn’t like the change in Jaejoong he wasn’t as timid as he had been.

“I’d be careful…”

“Appa…” Heechul looked at his father in the living room with paper in hand,

“What?”

“Heechul you and I both see it… don’t we?”

“There just good friends.” Heechul answer knowing full well what he was talking about.

“Still a conversation about the bird and bee wouldn’t go a miss.”

“Appa!” Heechul couldn’t help but state, “He’s a good kid.”

“I’m not saying he’s not, but your mother and I had a talk with you around his age.” Heechul felt embarrassed, remembering that conversation. Let’s just say he was scared for life. He looked out the door seeing, Jaejoong run down to the end of the street where Yunho was waiting for him. He looked at his father. Was there a need for concern? He thought about thinking maybe he should have a conversation with his husband before he decided on anything.

They spend hours walking around the gallery, Jaejoong smiling at things and making a comment. Yunho laughed a few times, he had no idea what Jaejoong saw in sculpture and painting all he saw was blobs of paint or rubbish piled on top. Yunho could help but think about a day in school the week before.

Flashback:

Yunho was bored he couldn’t wait until class end, he was counting down every minute. In the last week he had lunch with Jaejoong almost everyday, he’d walk with Jaejoong home everyday when he could. He must have imagined it but at one point he thought he saw he saw Jaejoong at one point, but when he blinked he was gone. When the bell rang Yunho hurry from the room, meeting up with Changmin and Jusnu wondering where Jaejoong was, it wasn’t until he was heading to his next class that he saw Jaejoong he was walking in the opposite direction with his eyes fixed on something. Yunho couldn’t help but run after him “Jae…” Jaejoong stumbled to a halt before looking at Yunho. “Why didn’t you meet us for lunch?”

“What?” Jaejoong looked at his watch, “I complete spaced.”

“What were you doing anyway?” Yunho asked.

“The teacher gave me this.” He handed it to Yunho. “He thinks it would be good for me to enter.”

“You should go for it.”

“No I couldn’t, I’m not that good. I’m… an amateur at most.”

“I’ve seen your work Jaejoong, it’s good, really good, go for it!” Yunho head tilted up when he heard the second bell, “I’ll meet you after school I’ll walk with you, you can talk to me six reasons why you shouldn’t enter, and I’ll have seven reasons why you should do it. And let’s not forget convince you to enter.” Yunho handed him back the form. Before running the other way toward class. “If you don’t sign the form I’ll sign it for you in your place your doing it, either way.”

End flashback

Yunho couldn’t help but feel happy thinking of that of that moment. Jaejoong was easy to read, what he likes, what he didn’t like, it really made Yunho enjoy teasing him.

“Yunho are you hungry?” Yunho turned to Jaejoong. Yunho liked Jaejoong but one thing he liked was how nervous Jaejoong looked. Jaejoong nervously looked down when Yunho didn’t answer him straight away, Yunho just laughed while Jaejoong stared at him… “You’re so silly you know that?” Yunho pulled on his hand clasping his hand with Jaejoong that made Jaejoong turn a bright shade of red, Yunho hadn’t realise what he did but Jaejoong had. When Yunho looked at Jaejoong he looked surprised and stared at Yunho with his doe eyes. “You’re too cute.” Yunho wanted to hit himself in the head he had become so sappy lately, he blushed just as red as Jaejoong. “God it’s hot in here, why don’t we head out get some ice-cream?” They sat in the park eating ice-cream, Yunho couldn’t help but watch Jaejoong as he drew away in his sketchbook. Sometime they didn’t need to speak they were just comfortable around one another. Yunho watched him amazed by his talent.

“What do you think?” Jaejoong showed him the sketch.

“Amazing, such detail.”

It was later that day when Yunho walked Jaejoong home not to the front door but to the end of the street. “I’ll see you tomorrow okay.” Jaejoong nodded.

“Hmm, Yunho…”

“What?”

T-Thanks for today Yunho, I had fun,” he said smiling.

“No problem.” They both turn but couldn’t help but look back over their shoulder and turn before the other noticed both red in the face.

Awh a light warming Chapter about Jaejoong and Yunho getting closer i  thought we need it after all the sad chapter... maybe their hope at the end for Jaejoong. Only more chapters will tell. Until the next enjoy
