Date 2 (3)

Just Give Me Ten Dates

Seunghyun removed his blindfold, but before he had the chance to look at the scene, Daesung had snatched the book back. “Okay fine, let's do it, but I get to choose who I'm playing!” Daesung waved the white flag of surrender and stuck his nose deep into the book. “Can I maybe..” Seunghyun started but Daesung shushed him, “Don't bother me while I'm preparing for the role! I'm going to nail it, but first I need to get into the zone.”. Daesung acted like he was this big actor diva doing his thousandth role with some idiot rookie that didn't know better than to interrupt the master at work. Seunghyun snorted. The diva act suited him, Daesung had no idea how awesome he really was. He was so good at seeing past other people's outer appearances, spotting the diamond that was hidden inside, but somehow failed to recognize the jadeite within himself. To the untrained eye, jadeite was just a pleasantly green stone, but for those who knew better, it was the rarest gem of all. Most wouldn't even think to pick it up off the street, but to those select few it was worth millions.

“Okay! Ready!” Daesung threw the book back at him and strutted to the sofa like he owned the room. What had gotten into him? After watching his impeccable behind as it wagged arrogantly to the sofa, Seunghyun realized he was holding the book. Oh.

'Do You Want to Try?', volume 4. That didn't really tell him much. He had never heard of it, but he wasn't really up to date with the manhwa scene these days. He turned the book over, it was still open on the random page they had selected. There was this sparkly drawing of a guy with a cigarette. As Seunghyun's eyes glided over the page, he automatically read the sentences, 'No, that prince mentality is soaked in his bones.', 'He's always doing whatever he wants.', 'He's selfish.', 'Has a bad personality.', 'If he weren't cool, there'd be nothing going for him...'.

Okay, that explained Daesung's sudden metamorphosis into an egotistic jackass. It was pretty obvious what role he had chosen. But who was he playing then? His eyes darted to the bottom of the page. “No way.” he said out loud without even meaning to. “You're not serious? You don't expect me to actually go along with this..?” Seunghyun asked Daesung, getting why he had tried to back down earlier. This was just too awkward and embarrassing. Daesung calmly put his hand up to his face, coolly taking a smoke even though he didn't have a cigarette, looking past Seunghyun like he was too cool to even notice him. Man, he was a good actor!

Seunghyun was amazed that Daesung hadn't burst out in giggles already. He was really taking this to another level. It was true that this was the perfect opportunity for them to get closer, but this was so awkward. Seunghyun wasn't sure if it would truly bring them closer or perhaps push them further apart. But he had no choice but to find out. Even though he had to play the role of the girl! Seunghyun had always thought of Daesung as the girl in their relationship, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. Who was it that was the most vulnerable, nursing his delicate heart that beat oh so lovingly in the hopes for the return of its eternal love. That wasn't Daesung, that was him. Ugh, he was even giving himself green pimples by being so cheesy. He couldn't help it, around Daesung he unwillingly turned into goo.

While he was thinking, his fingers had turned the page. His train of thought was abruptly interrupted. His heart did a summersault. He quickly scanned the next few pages. He didn't know whether to be scared or excited, he couldn't decide if this was good or bad. It sure was something though! Daesung cleared his throat impatiently, shifting in his seat. He had an unfamiliar air about him. It wasn't Daesung. This chic conceited cartoon boy had jumped off the pages and was possessing him.

After quickly memorizing his lines, Seunghyun closed the book. He quietly walked to the sofa, trying to force some courage into himself. He coolly sat down, trying not to let Daesung get a whiff of his nervousness. He took a hidden breath and stared at the table, acting as if he had a pair of chopsticks in his hands, using them to poke at his invisible food. “Didn't you say you were hungry?” he said absentmindedly, still playing with the nonexistent food. He could hear Daesung's breathing as he leaned back and rested his hand pretentiously on the back of the sofa. “Mm.. yeah..” he said in a deep grumble, taking another fake smoke.

He then crossed his hands slowly, elegantly. It felt as if it was happening in slow motion. Seunghyun could feel Daesung's piercing stare on him, burning a hole into his forehead. Daesung leaned forward, shifting the center of the room. Seunghyun held his breath without meaning to. He could feel his heart pounding on his ribcage, making his hands shaky. He could feel how close Daesung was, looking at him, waiting. But Seunghyun didn't dare look up, a heart attack was guaranteed. He would have to look up eventually, Daesung's stance was making that very clear. He just needed a few seconds to gather his thoughts, to try and calm his heart.

His eyes were a perfect half moon shape, fierceness shooting out of them, capturing Seunghyun in their web of manipulation. Daesung's semi-puckered lips slowly parted. It sent a jolt down to Seunghyun's stomach, this was probably the iest moment of his entire life. Daesung ran his tongue ever so slightly over his lower lip, his fixed stare relentless. “Feeeeed me.” he said sensually and blinked provocatively, like he was asking for it. Seunghyun wanted to jump him right then and there, it took everything he had to resist the urge.

Seunghyun had to play along, letting his jaw drop to the floor, half because that was what he was supposed to do, half because that was actually what he was feeling. “You... you idiot! Everyone is looking at us..” he said almost giggling, using the opportunity to flail freely a bit. Daesung didn't break character once, not even for a nanosecond. Seunghyun was getting worried he had actually been possessed by the manhwa boy, that the boy had somehow gotten hold of him through some dark magic. It was a silly thought, but that was how amazingly Daesung was acting. Seunghyun wondered why he was the famous actor and not Daesung, he could never reach this level of pure interpretation. Maybe it was because Daesung had developed this silly joker image as his onscreen persona. He did that very well, but that was nothing compared to this. He was really in awe of him, was there nothing he couldn't do?

“Waaaaahhh”. With his eyes closed, Daesung held his mouth open, the sound indicating that he should feed him. Wow, this was embarrassing. Seunghyun could feel his face getting red as he used the imaginary chopsticks to pick up some pretend food. His own thoughts mirrored that of his character, 'Such a stubborn and childish guy. Always makes me worry about what he'll do next.'. That fitted Daesung, it really did.

Seunghyun's hand shook as he guided it towards Daesung's mouth. A lay person might have thought he was only doing a very good job acting out the scenes of the book, since his character also had an unsteady hand in the face of overwhelming beauty. But he wasn't acting, he could really understand what she had been going through, since he was now going through the exact same thing.

As he got a cuteness attack over how unique and cute Daesung's teeth were, he remembered she had also thought about how pretty the chic boy's teeth were. Had she also possessed him, like the chic guy had Daesung? Were they using him and Daesung to act out their story, their love story? Seunghyun wasn't sure he had a problem with that, that way they would get to date for real and that would make Daesung susceptible to his charms. No. No, it wouldn't be Daesung. He wasn't just after Daesung's body, although that was one hell of a body! He wanted the whole package. It was Daesung he was in love with, he would never be happy with some obnoxious cool guy that thought the world revolved around him, making him his .

Daesung swallowed the make-believe food as if it was the most delicious thing he had ever eaten. “One more time” he said tauntingly as he wiped the side of his mouth provocatively with the back of his hand. Oh, now he was adding little details of his own, this was getting out of hand. Seunghyun's heart was about to burst, doing a million beats per second. “S....stop it... you idiot” he managed to utter, his head completely out of the game. Bedazzled by Daesung's radiant aura, he was getting dangerously giddy. He didn't care about the consequences anymore, he just wanted him right here, right now.

“If you don't feed me..” Daesung said in a low voice, intensity coloring the atmosphere. He leaned in closer, “...I will... EAT.. you.”. He put an ominous emphasis on 'eat', his eyes shooting sparks. Seunghyun's stomach was panging right and left, butterflies taking over his whole body. Now was his chance. It was now or never. He was breathing heavily, looking straight into Daesung's eyes. He couldn't believe this was really going to happen, he was going to kiss Daesung. Really kiss him. It wasn't in the script, but he didn't care anymore. The adrenaline rushing through his veins had rendered him immune to rational thought. This was his moment and he was going to enjoy it to the fullest. Whatever came after wasn't his problem, post-kiss-Seunghyun would have to deal with that, not him.

He started leaning in ever so slightly, when Daesung suddenly sprang to his feet. “Ha ha ha! That was funny! Wow, now I really get why you became an actor, you are AMAZING! Like, of course I knew that... but seeing it up close... just amazing!! Even your hand was shaking and there was a drop of sweat forming on the top of your forehead, like you were really nervous, ha ha! How do you even do that?!”. While Daesung splashed a bucket full of praises in his face, Seunghyun couldn't help but be filled with disappointment. He missed his chance.
