Date 2

Just Give Me Ten Dates

“Oh come on heart, don't be so silly!” Seunghyun said to himself. He was waiting in the car in front of the dorm, he was picking Daesung up for their second date. Being there brought back the memories from last time. Daesung had kissed him on the cheek. Kissed him! That had to mean something. It had to mean that there was hope. Seunghyun had tried pacing his over eager heart, but it was in it to win it, fluttering all over the place at the thought of seeing Daesung again. What would he be wearing? How would he be feeling? What place did he pick for their date? Would he kiss him again? Would he flirt with him again?

Seunghyun took a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself down. He was just setting himself up for disappointment, for heartbreak. He knew that, his brain knew that, but his heart refused to listen. There was no controlling it. It was a rogue agent, hijacking his body and manipulating his feelings. This was going to end badly. Seunghyun had told himself that a thousand times, yet the tingling in his stomach wouldn't stop. He had the pre-date jitters and he loved every second of it. The blind anticipation that ran through his veins, making every one of his organs alert and ready for action. Maybe he should just give up, stop fighting it and enjoy the ride. This was his chance to date Daesung, really date him. No matter what would happen at the end of the tenth date, he would always have those memories. He should make the most of it, he was going to make the most of it. From this moment on, he was going to let himself think he was dating Daesung for real. After all, keeping it as real as possible was his best shot at getting Daesung to see that they belonged together.

“Say what?” Seunghyun stared at Daesung incredulously. He had just gotten into the car all prettied up, smelling incredible. His cologne filled the car, making Seunghyun lightheaded. He was clearly taking this dating thing seriously. Normally when Daesung wasn't performing or making some public appearance, he threw on his old worn out sweats, not really caring how he looked. He wasn't that much into fashion, some might even go so far as to call him fashion impaired. Seunghyun loved fashion, he loved buying new cool outfits and building his own style with them. Mixing and matching beautiful clothes, there wasn't much that could beat that. There were a couple of things though. Being with Daesung was one of them and that was why Seunghyun put up with the horrible sweats. Although, if they started to date for real, Seunghyun was going to buy him new sweats and beg him to wear them. He couldn't have those old smelly sweats as a frequent guest in his bed. His bed would get offended and give him back pain in revenge, or worse. No, he had to convince him to wear the new sweats. But that was a problem for another day. Seunghyun had never wished as hard for a future problem to come true. He wished for this problem with all his might, if only.

“A manhwa bang.” Daesung repeated brightly, his eyes beaming. His smile was so wide it made his eyes nearly disappear. He had such a rejuvenating energy about him, just being around him made everything better. Seunghyun snorted, “That's not a date place!”. “Why not?” Daesung replied, slightly insulted. “Ehm.. because it's not a two person activity. We would just sit in different booths on our own reading manhwas. It has to at least be something in which we can partake together, don't you think?” Seunghyun was not going to back down. He only had ten dates, he was not going to waste a whole date by being apart, reading for heaven's sake! Could he have picked a less interactive activity if he had tried? Was this Seunghyun's answer maybe, that Daesung didn't really want to go on date dates with him? That he was using this to get out of being in a 'couple on a date' situation with him?

“Oh, you'll see. Just drive.” Daesung half-giggled as he Seunghyun's arm encouragingly. Was he playing him? Was he seriously using the fact that Seunghyun was insanely attracted to him to get what he wanted? If that was what he was doing, it was working. Seunghyun melted under his touch. “Fine. Have it your way, but if we don't interact at all, then you owe me another date!” Seunghyun tried to sound firm to gloss over the fact that he was totally caving. Ah, he was too weak. Daesung was his kryptonite. In his presence, Seunghyun lost all his power, becoming clay in Daesung's hands. He tried to resist it. He tried harder than a squirrel trying to open a particularly tough nut. But there was no use, it was one nut he couldn't crack. He just gave Daesung his nut without him even asking for it.

Daesung took his wrist and led him straight to the VIP room. “I already reserved a private VIP room, how's that for a non-date!” Daesung cheekily threw in Seunghyun's face. Cheeky Daesung was even more cute than sweet Daesung. His full of attitude expression made his short little eyebrows form a V. His eyebrows were one of Seunghyun's favorite parts about him, there had never been anyone with cuter eyebrows than Daesung. It was just not possible. It was a shame how often his hairstyle hid those little gems. Seunghyun couldn't help but smile, laugh even. He was happy. It wasn't more complicated than that. He was just happy.

It was a relief that they would at least get their own private little place, since there was not much romance in being at a Manhwa bang. But reading wasn't much of a couple activity, not a lot of sparks could be created that way. Not unless he would set Daesung's book on fire, but that was probably a little too dangerous. Seunghyun chuckled as he pictured the scene. As soon as Daesung's book caught fire, he freaked out and threw it on the floor, running straight into Seunghyun's strong, muscular arms. Muscular, really? Oh come on brain, it's a fantasy! The burning book set fire to the carpet of course, which led to the nearest bookshelf. The fire ate up the books like a tiger eating a prime tenderloin. “Save me, save me!” Daesung begged, burying his face into his shoulder. Seunghyun didn't have to be told twice, heroically storming out of the now burning building, saving his love, his life, his everything. Crying, Daesung looked him in the eyes, it was like he was seeing Seunghyun for the first time. Finally he understood. Daesung leaned in for a tender kiss, surrendering himself to Seunghyun. Seunghyun got chills just thinking about it.

Daesung closed the door and pulled out a handkerchief out of his back pocket, “Close your eyes.”.
