I already have a Boyfriend
Minjee’s POV
Jinho stood over me scrutinizing my face.
“Why are you so happy this morning?” he asked me.
“No reason,” I replied bluntly, turning back to my breakfast. The boys had gone off to their schedules today and Jinho and I were left home alone.
“Don’t lie to me! I know that something happened,” he stated, getting up from his crouched position and moving to the adjacent chair.
“Now spill,” he demanded, looking at me sternly. I had debated whether to tell Jinho or not, but I couldn’t keep this from my best friend, I needed to talk to someone about it.
“Ok, but don’t get too excited,” I warned him. He nodded and I looked down at my hands, embarrassed.
“Daehyun kissed me.”
“HE WHAT?! WAHHHH!” he screamed, bounding in his chair.
“I TOLD YOU NOT TO GET EXCITED!” I said, smacking his head.
“WHY SHOULDN’T I? IT”S EXCITING! YOUR FIRST KISS TOGETHER!” He shouted back.
“So what happened? When? How? I want ALL the details!” he shot, moving his chair close to mine.
I laughed at him, “Jinho, your gay is showing.”
“Shut up and fill me in woman!”
I told him everything and he pondered deep in thought
“He likes you. A LOT” he concluded.
“No he doesn’t Jinho,” I sighed and went back to my food.
“Minjee, you do this every time! Remember that guy who gave you flowers in 8th grade? And you said he was just being nice. Or that guy who took you to dinner? But you said he was just being friendly. It is possible a boy can like you more than a friend!” he scoffed. He was right, I hated to admit it, but those guys had liked me in the end.
But this was different; Daehyun was out of my league.
“This is different Jinho, Daehyun was just being a good friend,” and with that he gave up, rolling his eyes at me.
“You’re going to be forever alone,”
“Don’t be silly! I have you,” I smiled at him and his head, “you can be my pet.”
“YAH!” he screamed, and I laughed once again.
He left to get ready, which took ages, since we were going out for the day. I sat in the chair gazing at my tea, running my fingers around the lip of the cup.
Does he really like me?
I thought back to last night.
Well he did seem happy when I kissed him back.
I frowned and rested my chin on my hand.
But that doesn’t mean he likes me.
“Arghhhhhhh,” I groaned out loud.
And even if he does like me, what would happen?
Everyone else thinks I’m dating Jinho.
A secret relationship?
No too awkward, It’s hard enough lying about dating Jinho.
This is stupid, I decided.
I’m just going to forget about Daehyun, it’s all too complicated.
I went out with Jinho to try and forget about it all. We did typical touristy activities, taking silly photos and visiting landmarks.
We sat down to have ice cream at a park, lying down on the grass like children.
“I’m glad we came here.” Jinho said
“Me too,” I agreed.
“College would have been so boring,”
“We still have to go once we go home,” I laughed.
“I know.”
We sat in silence, admiring the city and the landscape. It felt like home here.
“So,” Jinho started, turning on his side.
“When are you going to talk to Daehyun?” he quizzed.
“Oh, let me see, today is Wednesday, so……Never?”
He frowned.
“Avoiding your problems won’t make them go away!”
“There’s no problem, we aren’t awkward.”
“You still need to talk to him.”
I sat up and looked at him.
“You’re right Jinho.”
He looked at me, confused, “What?”
“I will talk to him, I’ll tell him I’m hopelessly in love with him, we will become a couple. And then we will tell all of BAP and you will have to tell them that we were never dating and that you are gay. Zelo will find out you lied to him, your father is probably spying on you so he will find out, you’ll tear your family apart and we will have to go back home.”
He frowned.
“Don’t think I haven’t thought this through Jinho, I’m doing this all for you, so stop nagging me and let me just forget Daehyun.” I grunted.
Jinho sighed, knowing I had defeated him.
“I’m sorry,”
“It’s ok Jinho,” I smiled, wanting to lift the mood, “bros before hoes right?” I said, nudging him. He laughed and nodded.
“Want to try my ice cream?” I asked, an idea coming to mind.
“Sure”
I moved the ice cream over and as he went to it, I shoved it in his face.
And as fast as I could, I starting running.
“LEE MINJEE I WILL GET YOU!” I heard from behind.
Although I was laughing hysterically, I didn’t stop running.
Daehyun’s POV
At training today Youngjae had been acting weird towards me.
Well not just weird, I would even call it rude.
I had no idea why and every time I tried to talk to him he avoided me.
During dance practice I stuffed up some moves.
“What the hell is wrong with you? We are going to be here all night because of you,” Youngjae growled at me.
I raised my eyebrows at him and even the other members were shocked at his rudeness.
“Calm down man, its just practice.” Himchan assured him.
“Ok guys I think that’s enough for tonight,” Yongguk instructed looking worried at his tense dongsaengs.
Youngjae huffed off ahead and we all followed,
“What’s his problem with you today?” Himchan asked me in a low voice,
“No idea Hyung,” I shrugged, trying to rack my brain as to what has set him off.
When we got back home, Youngjae’s mood worsened.
“I’m going straight to bed,” he stated before turning to me and adding,” Oh and I would like my black hoodie back that you borrowed last night Daehyun.”
I couldn’t sleep, a million questions were running through my head.
How does he know?
He must have seen us last night.
Ok so he recognized me but why is he so upset?
He couldn’t have recognized Minjee.
All he could see was her shoes right?
Shoes, shoes, what shoes had she been she wearing?
I searched my memory.
Ah-hah! Converse! What was so rare about someone wearing converse? Almost everyone owns a pair.
Oh wait.
Hers had the American flag print.
Damn.
I will fix this tomorrow, I thought, determined.
